13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
Without a life lived out before the people of God, they have no point of reference for the word that is preached. Our traditions or ways will make the word we preach of no effect.
The Lord spoke to me very plainly, “The Body of Christ does not speak the language of the Kingdom. They are led by those who know not the mystery of Christ (the plan operation, and manifestation of salvation), the absence of which has taken away any expectation of producing a manifested son of God.” Therefore, when we speak the truth of the mystery of Christ, it sounds as if we are speaking a foreign language.
Hebrews 6:4-6
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Without Christ’s death on the cross, there would be no forgiveness of sin. The Father forgives us for Christ’s sake; simply because he died for us. His death had the power to take away the sins of the world. It removed the sin that separated us from God.
But what happens when we who are born again continue to sin against God?
In order to continue in sin, we have to maintain a crucified Christ. By this I mean, we keep Him on the cross in our own hearts and minds, constantly paying for our sins. We can become comfortable in sin because he is always our atonement. Therefore, we put him to shame by living as we choose.
2 Peter 1:12
12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.
Notice the approach here of the Apostle. He finds it necessary to remind them of things they had already learned. The reason this was necessary was because he was already aware that they were keeping abreast also of the present truth.
Present truth refers to what God is saying now. It is a revelation of the scriptures that are relevant to the present time and purpose of God. Thus, we are to keep the Body of Christ in remembrance of the things God has already taught them, but not at the expense of forsaking the present word that is coming out of Heaven to the Body.
One may preach the word to a particular point, but not go all the way to the righteousness of the scriptures. This operation is one of unbelief and pride. Instead of seeking to resolve the conflict the Holy Ghost is sure to bring on the inside, one will divert to something comfortable and noninvasive of their mindset.
In doing so, you will create a God of your imagination who thinks like you. This God believes as you do, He is on your side of the issue; thus, making it acceptable to remain in a place of obscurity with regards to the leading of the Holy Ghost.
The question is, “Does this mindset have power to take away conviction?” The answer is no.
However, conviction is the voice of God in the conscience that is beared. In other words, you will come to a place where you are able to bear the voice and will of God being different from your own. But continuance in this operation will eventually drown out the conviction as this is the beginning of searing the conscience.
