Equal with God

There are some sayings in the scriptures that I think the Body of Christ has not really grasped the essence or importance of.

Philippians 2:5-6

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

Jesus was in the form of God. Was this statement referring to his physical appearance? Or was it referring to the fact that Jesus was literally living in God? He was in God and God was in Him.

Jesus lived in the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is the form of God on earth. He is the Spirit of Truth. Thus, when Apostle Paul declared; ... we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth (2 Corinthians 13:8), they are essentially saying, they can only obey the leading and instruction of the Holy Ghost. This is what it means to be equal with God.

1 Corinthians 1:10

10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined

together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

We are instructed to have the same mind. To obey the Holy Ghost in word and in deed, is to be equal with God. Do not be alarmed at my statement. I am not speaking about taking the place of Almighty God, rather, I am simply pointing to the reality that God has given us His character by way of His Spirit. We are new creatures in Him - creatures of His kind. Therefore, let the mind that was in Christ be in you. Even as He did, do not think it robbery to consider yourself as equal with God in character. When we walk in a mindset that is one of self-denial, we will manifest our equality with the Father, and as a result we will not feel as if we are being cheated out of anything. Therefore, when the scripture says, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. (Philippians 2:2); It is speaking to the entire Body of Christ. Having the same mind: without conflict or controversy

We have been given the mind of Christ. Does that mean that we literally have the mind of Jesus? If yes, then why or how? Again, 1 Corinthians 1:10 states Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined

together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

As I was writing this, I heard the Lord say, “The knowledge of God is in the Holy Ghost. There is no knowledge of God without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.” There is no hard thing here to comprehend. It is the power of the Holy Ghost that makes us one with God. All knowledge and all power of godly will and emotion belong to the Holy Ghost. He is the life we have been given. Jesus said, whosoever shall seek to save his life, shall lose it… (Luke 17:33). If you seek to preserve self, you will surely die separated from God. It is the Spirit of God that leads us into a life of self- abandonment. If one lives a life of self-preservation, they will never be able to discern or appreciate the mystery of Christ.

1 Timothy 3:16

16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the

world, received up into glory.

The mystery of Christ is without controversy in us. There is no controversy in oneness. Conflict is always due to disagreement. It takes two to disagree. God gave us the mind of Christ which is the Holy Ghost. It is the Holy Ghost who articulates the will and mind of God. For there to be conflict or controversy you must rebel against the Spirit of God, by exercising your will against the knowledge of God.

Romans 16:25

25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since

the world began,

The preaching of the mystery of Christ is the power of God unto our salvation. The preaching of the gospel has the power to rectify every negative disposition. The power of God in the preaching of the gospel is oneness. To walk in oneness with God is to move in and by the mind of the Lord. This destroys all fallacies and failures to please the Father. Our God is One. He is One Mind, One Love, and One Accord with his Sons.

…of power to stablish you according to my gospel,... This is something that the Body of Christ must embrace. Each of us must be established in God according to the truth. The Holy Ghost has the power to do that. He is the power of the gospel. However, it is not some external force He provides us with. He has joined himself to us in the creation of a new being. He is the life of that creature. It is His life that must be established in us. Therefore, His power is first to quicken the flesh alive unto God. This removes internal conflict and struggle with sin. We are also established in His life by personal leadership. He leads us into the will of God. He knows the mind of the Father and has given to us that mind. In order to believe the lie, you must be prepared to fight against the conviction of the heart. It is the power of the Holy Ghost that leads us into all truth.

You will never be able to change or break scripture. Therefore, it is the Holy Ghost who makes us aware of the falseness of words, doctrines, or our own deeds. The conflict will always remain, even in the form of a ‘thought war.’But the Holy Ghost will accuse or excuse any thought that is not God. He is not only able to provide the power to cast it down, but to also, create in us a willingness to love and obey the will of the Father. This is important. Without the will to obey and to love the Father, we would always have a conflict within. However, the power of the Holy Ghost created us the same as He created Christ, without conflict or controversy.
