The Word of Life

1 John 1:1

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

It is time for the church to discern just who they are. For too long the glory of the Body of Christ has been veiled by the poison of false doctrines. We have not stood because we are a Kingdom divided. We have been led by leaders that have not sought out the Mystery of Christ, which is only found in Apostolic Order (1 Corinthians 12:28).

1 Corinthians 12:28

28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

Thus, the Church is stagnated. However, God is in these days yet revealing the mysteries of God as He did in times of old.

John 17:5

5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

I want you for a moment to ponder on what the scripture above is saying. Jesus is praying in the Garden of Gethsemane beseeching the Father that He grant unto Him the glory that He had before the world was. What exactly is this glory?

John 1:1

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Jesus was the Word of God!

This was the image He bore. However, this Word became flesh, and dwelt among men (John 1:14).

John 1:14

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus recognizes here that when He dies He will return to that same glory that He was from the beginning. He will be revealed and manifested as the Son of God.

John 17:4

4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

Jesus outlines here what was necessary for Him to qualify to return to this Glory. He had to glorify God in the earth. He had to ensure that He completed the work (function, role) that God sent Him from heaven to accomplish.

What was Jesus’ function?

1. He had to live a life free from sin so that He could be the sacrifice for the sins of the world.

2. He had to preach and teach the coming of the Kingdom of God after His death.

3. He had to raise up ministers who would continue His ministry after He left.

4. He had to die and rise from the dead, and show Himself to many, making them witnesses of the gospel.

If Jesus had ignored any of these, He would not have qualified to return to glory. It behooved Him to fulfill all righteousness. He finished His course. However, let us not forget that Christ is preeminent (first concerning the church) in all things. He is the first of many brethren. As He is so are we in this world. Thus, He is the prototype for all the Sons to follow.

1 John 1:1-2

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness (EVIDENCE), and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us)

Listen to John teach. The disciples entertained the Word of God in flesh through Jesus Christ. However, this life that seen has now been manifested unto John. The Word of Life has been manifested or transferred to John. Now, John can show the same Life, because it is in him. Do not forget that this Life is Eternal. Thus, we see John, manifesting the Eternal Word of God, in flesh.

James 1:18

18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Here we see the operation of the Word. Through the preaching of the Gospel, we received the Holy Spirit. Bear in mind that the Gospel is Spirit. Thus, the Word of God begat us, and fashioned us into creatures of His kind. This is a good time to remind you that our God is eternal. If we are of His kind, then we too must be eternal in nature. Moreover, Jesus is preeminent concerning the Church. Thus, if He was the Word of Life in the beginning, who became flesh, and then returned to His Glory; if He is indeed preeminent, we must see that same trend in the sons of God.

ETERNITY PAST

Ecclesiastes 3:15

15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

According to Solomon what we are experiencing now has already been in Eternity. In fact, there is not one scripture in the Bible that was not first manifested in Eternity. Even the very end of all things was manifested in the foreknowledge of God. This is why God requireth that which is past. This is where we did not connect the dots. What exactly is the end of all things?

Psalm 82:1

1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

Here God speaks to Israel according to His promise of the Spirit. Thus, He was speaking prophetically to the Church, and even the Gentiles that would be engrafted in through the Spirit.

Psalm 82:6-8

6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

God’s children are gods. That is simply natural reasoning. According to

Romans 8:9

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

It is the Spirit within us that bears witness and confesses that we are the children of God. If we are then children, according to Psalm 82:6 we are gods. However, consider verse 8. Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations. It seems here that God calls another God. However, Hebrews reveals the truth.

Hebrews 1:8

8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

God speaks here to His Son Jesus Christ. However, Jesus always testified saying, I and my Father are one (John 10:30).

John 10:30

30 I and my Father are one.

The Father and the Son are one! Hence, when He speaks to the Son, He is communing with Himself. This confirms that God did not lie when He said that He would not give His glory to another (Isaiah 42:8) and that He is the only God (Isaiah 44:6), because He and the Son are one. They are same.

Isaiah 42:8

8 I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Isaiah 44:6

6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

Philippians 2:5-6

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

. Listen to Jesus’ prayer.

John 17:22-23

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

We have been made one with the Father and the Son. We have been joined to the Lord and have become one Spirit (1 Cor. 6:17).

1 Cor. 6:17

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

We are the members of Christ. We are His Body the Church; the Household of God. Hence when the Father spoke to His Son Jesus saying, “Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations,” this did not exclude the gods He mentioned earlier. In fact, the sum of the gods is God, The Father and Jesus being the head.

Ephesians 4:6

6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Matthew 10:24-25

24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ is above all, however we are His family and body.

Psalm 82:8

8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

Matthew 5:5

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

1 Corinthians 6:3

3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Revelation 20:4

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Moreover, we shall be worshipped.

Revelation 3:9

9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

The Scriptures are irrefutable. This is the mark of the high calling. To be in God, after we put off this flesh. To rule and reign with Christ. To be a part of the risen God who is judging the earth. Now, back to our statement. If Jesus was the Word of God in the beginning, then the Word of God in flesh, and finally the Word of God in the end; seeing He is preeminent in all things we should see the same trend in the Sons. We know that through the Holy Spirit we have been made the Word of God in flesh, and we have learned that in the end, we will partake in the glory, that is, the Word of God. However, how do we reconcile the past? Were the sons of God the Word in the beginning? The answer is simple.

Ecclesiastes 3:15

15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

The end has already happened in Eternity. We have already received all our rewards, and glory before the world ever was. We were a part of God who judged the world. Hence, when we read

John 1:1,

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God

we realize He was speaking of the end of Eternity past. In other words, at the beginning of time, the timeline in the foreknowledge of God had just ended. We had inherited the earth, in the beginning. We were the Word that was with God and was God. We are the sons of God! We are as He is. See the function of the sons.

1. We are those that are called to live a life free from sin so that we can be the sacrifices for the world. We bear the sins of the world through intercession, and we die for the same through suffering.

2. We are the born-again believers that teach and preach the Kingdom of God.

3. We are those that save the lost and make disciples to continue the work of the ministry.

4. We have died and risen from the dead and have shown ourselves alive by the power of Christ that they may witness the gospel.

We are sons from the beginning, manifested now, and will be forevermore. We are the Word of God made flesh. This word was given to us that we may have confidence in the day of judgment. We have already seen the end. We know the truth concerning ourselves. We are they that shall be rewarded in the end. We are those that have endured to the end. We are those that have abstained from sin. Even as John, saw his name on the foundations of the city, He was assured that He would make it in. Saints, I would have you know that God is not a respecter of persons. We have seen our end in the Scriptures.

1 John 3:3

3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

If the hope of the gospel is in your heart sanctify yourself, that you may have an assurance of glory.

2 Timothy 1:9-10

9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel

Jesus Christ is now manifesting the life and immortality we received in eternity past.

Titus 1:1-3

1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour.

God gave us eternal life (the Word of life) before the world began. Now, in time, He is manifesting the Sons (His Word) through the preaching of the gospel.

2 Thessalonians 2:4

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Daniel 11:36

36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
