God’s Expectation

If only those religious leaders would stop for a moment and consider just what they are saying and how it so blatantly contrasts with that which the Lord has declared and demanded. My brothers and sisters, to declare boldly that no one in Christ will ever be perfect, is to reject the very essence of the New Testament. Furthermore, you are saying to the Church;

1. The Father expects you to occasionally sin.

2. He knows that throughout your walk of salvation you will without doubt, from time to time, fall back into the sin he delivered you from. But when you do, just get back up and try it again until the next fall.

3. For God knows that you are not capable of making a decision to live holy everyday.

4. He knows that satan still lives in your flesh and at times he is more powerful than the Christ that also lives in you. After all you do have a dual, or two different natures; one of sin and the other of righteousness.

5. But it is certain that periodically, your sinful nature will win and you will be forced to sin.

6. Therefore, don’t even think that you have a choice in the matter.

By preaching and teaching such to the Body you stand in terrible error and boldly declare the blood and spirit of Christ to have no more power than that of bulls and goats. I certainly hope we all realize that this will never be the case. God, the Father has purposed to have a Church without spot or blemish. He is not going to settle for that which is defiled. Only those who are pure in body, soul and spirit will enter into the Kingdom of God. We all realize that the Law could not make a man perfect as pertaining to the conscience, but the bringing in of a better hope has (Heb 7:19).

The better hope is Jesus Christ and all who dwell in Him are made perfect in one. Be careful my brothers. By saying such things you have judged the entire Body of Christ as sinners and have accused the Father of being an impotent, lying God. Some, I realize, have spoken out of ignorance and others out of justification of their own sins. Nevertheless, the effect in the Body and the world is the same.

The children of God have become dismayed and frustrated with failure without any hope of ever being able to please God. The world has become hard-hearted against Christianity because it sees no difference in the children of God and themselves. Thus, they too are without hope. But how will I answer these false accusations against the Father and His Word? I will do as my predecessors have done; I will answer with the only weapon that has proven to be effective against Satan and his lies . . . I will speak the truth. THE SIN ISSUE Regarding sin, what shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein (Romans 6:1-2).

But rather brethren, teach the people of God to give diligence to make their calling and election sure: for if they do these things, they shall never fall: (2 Peter 1:10)

Furthermore, it is written that if any man offends not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body (James 3:2).

THE ISSUE OF DUAL NATURE

And now concerning dual nature, there has been given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these we have become partakers of the divine nature, and have escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (2 Peter 1:4).

Lust is the nature of the devil and Peter has boldly declared that we have escaped it by taking on the sinless nature of our God. John, the apostle, also proclaimed that as many as received him, to them he gave power to become the sons of God, even to those who believe on his name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (St. John 1:12-13).

Therefore, we that are in Christ Jesus are new creatures, born again, not by the power of the flesh, but by the power of God. Old things have passed away and all things are of God. We are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones (Eph 5:30).

And now we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Cor 3:18).

We have put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Eph 4:24).

THE ISSUE OF CHOICE

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness (Rom 6:16).

We have the mind of Christ and are able to make the same decisions He made. We do have a choice and are capable of making all the right choices. Please, my dear friends do not indict the whole church with your own failure to live holy unto God.

Nevertheless, if you cannot accept these truths, then it is evident that you choose to either remain willingly ignorant or simply reject the mind and heart of our Father. Let me remind you however, the Lord rendered a response to the spirit of Eliphaz . . .

7 And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. 8 Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job (Job 42:7-8).

It is the Lord Jesus speaking to the Church of Sardis that reveals the expectations of the Lord for His people:

Revelation 3:1

1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.

It is not a good thing to walk in deception, but I am finding everyday that there are many who are willingly deceived. They know that their works are not equal to the Word they have received of God. Yet they go on day after day, walking in the glory of their church or denomination. They have made a name for themselves but from God’s perspective they are as dead men.

Revelation 3:2-3

2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Wait a minute! How is it possible that Jesus can expect our works to be perfect? Well, in any case, He demanded that they repent and walk in the things which they had received and learned. Beloved, you must hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church. The Lord has given us all things that pertain to or enable us to walk in godliness and the life of Christ. This is the mystery of godliness revealed, Christ in us the hope of glory.

Revelation 3:4

4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

Gentlemen, listen to the testimony of the Lord. He acknowledges that there were a few in the Church at Sardis who had not defiled themselves and their garments were without spot or blemish. Be careful now of the spirit of Eliphaz. Don’t continue to say no one in the Church is perfect, when the Lord just declared some at Sardis to be so. I ask you now, “If some of the saints at Sardis could keep themselves unspotted from the world, why is it so hard to think God has some Sons today who can and are doing the same? This is the expectation of the Lord. There will be severe punishment for those who disregard this Word of perfection before God. Remember, Christ is talking to the Body of Christ, His Church. His blood sanctified us wholly and completely, body, soul and spirit. Then He gave us the earnest of the Spirit which is the power to become and walk as Sons of the Most High. If this were not the case then He would be unjust to demand perfection from Sardis or any of us for that matter.

Revelation 3:5

5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Only those who overcome sin will be allowed to enter the Kingdom of God. All others names will be blotted out of the book of life.

Revelation 3:6

6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

I admonish those who are privy to hearing the Word of perfection and a sinless nature, to be careful not to condemn and cause others to condemn that which you do not understand. Seek out clarity. Those who are hungry and thirsty for righteousness shall be filled. If you are not willing to do so, then you simply must examine your motives for preaching. What are we trying to accomplish if not the righteousness of God in the people of God? To hold your position robs the people of any hope to please the Father and it also says that you have no expectation of pleasing him yourself! On the contrary, you fervently make provisions for failure and constant repentance. Reconsider your position. God will honor a humble spirit and guide you into all truth.
