"Preparing Soldiers for the Master's Use"

A. We Are Fishermen:

Christ began and ended His ministry with the command to all believers to be “witnesses” and “fishers of men.” We will learn in this course that the first place to start is in our own neighborhood. We will go fishing. We will begin to allow our neighbors and those close to us to test our fruit. We will touch lives, as Jesus did, and make ourselves vulnerable to those who need us the most. We will be lovers, healers, givers and teachers. We will learn in this course “how to” test the readiness of those around us and how to show ourselves friendly to the lost. Jesus was a master salesman and fisherman.

B. Build Relationships: Pastors must be the first partakers. Pastors must prepare (nurture, spend time with, cultivate) and then equip their members to be witnesses. In addition, when the new babes enter the church, provision for their Growth Path must be made immediately. Follow-up for new Christians and new members is imperative and is the responsibility of the pastor. Always remember: Faith cometh by hearing the Word of God. Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing and hearing! Inside of our relationships, Faith will come when the people inside of our spheres of influence Hear the Word!

C. Train Leaders and Members:

The Lord has told us that our training during these "end-times" would be "On the Job Training". Jesus trained His leaders (apostles) to reproduce by taking them with Him in "training sessions". Pastors must quickly train their leaders to reproduce and be active in the training process of their own congregation. They must be the first to go out “door to door” in Home Visitations, taking trainees and observers with them. We will learn in this course that as we, as a body, work together in team ministry and begin to test the soil in our own neighborhoods, new converts and visitors will start attending your church. Every visitor and new member must be scheduled for a "Follow Up Home Visitation" by a trained team of three ministers, within the first week of attendance.

D. Discipleship/ Growth Path Follow-Up:

Win souls and then train “Soul Winners.” Jesus went forth fishing for men and then He brought them to a commitment. After commitment, He discipled and trained them to be leaders. It is imperative for the end-time harvesting and reproduction process that training not be limited to teaching members and leaders to be just “witnesses,” but they be trained to be leaders and “soul winners.” Jesus did not go forth to just make converts, but to make “disciples.” After new members arrive, they must be discipled. After they have been discipled, they must be trained to go forth and reproduce themselves and become “soul winners” and “Trainers”.

The Lord has given us our method for developing & discipling new converts and members. Know the Four Spiritual Laws. Many people you will come in contact with do not know Jesus and the significance of having a personal relationship with Him. Most have no idea what being “Born Again” really means and why they need to be changed and filled with the Holy Spirit. Faith cometh by hearing the Word of God. People need to “hear!” The following “Laws” are most important to know and follow in your “Home Presentations” and when surveying in “Public Places.” These will help all you encounter to know Jesus and experience the abundant life He promised. God loves you and has a wonderful plan and purpose for you.

John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 17:3

3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Mankind is sinful. Man is born in sin and shaped in iniquity. Man is separated from God because of sin and therefore cannot experience His love and purpose for his life.

Romans 3:23

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 8:6-8

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Jesus Christ is God’s ONLY provision for man’s sin. It is only through Jesus that you can experience God’s love and purpose for your life.

Romans 5: 8;

8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us

1 Corinthians 15:3-6

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures

5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

John 14:6

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

We must individually RECEIVE Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and be filled with His Spirit in order to know and experience God’s love and fulfill our purpose in the earth. We must be BORN AGAIN.

John 1:12

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Ephesians 2:8-9

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Revelation 3:20

20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Hebrews 13:5

5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Receiving Christ means becoming a New Creature, born again of Christ’s Spirit with the promise of a “New Body” and Eternal Life. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died for our sins is not enough! Nor is it enough to have an emotional or “religious” experience.

Receiving Christ means a “New Creature” has emerged. A new nature has been created and the “Old Man” is dead. The conscience must be regenerated by the blood of Christ. All things become “new” when we are “Born Again” and there is no longer any condemnation. We are set free from sin!

2 Corinthians 5:17-21

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Romans 8:1-13

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
