Christ’s Plan for Global Evangelism

Matthew 24:14

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

A. Jesus is our Chief Apostle

Jesus is our chief Apostle and the mind of the chief apostle is one of apostolic order, which provides a body wherein new converts can be set in these last of the last days. The Lord has brought us a long way in these “last days!” He has been preparing us inside of His Order to be a “healthy and functional family.” He did so with His first disciples and His Great Commission is to be continued in the “last” of these “Last Days” through His sons. Witnessing, soul winning and prayer must become a way of life and the mindset of a lifestyle evangelist. We are all called to be evangelists and are ambassadors of Christ. We must now bring our evangelistic efforts into our circumstances, situations and relationships every day!

Matthew 9:37-38

37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

B. “The Great Commission”

Matthew 28:16-20

16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Acts 1:8

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

The Focus in Acts 1:8 is on the strength of the Holy Ghost and Christ's strategy for global evangelism.

C. How Do We Win Souls For The Kingdom?

Kinsman Evangelism: We need not reinvent the wheel. Jesus is our example and He gave His church, His Bride, the model or structure for global evangelism. Jesus spent time with His Apostles and then sent them out in “practice sessions” or “On the Job Training” teams. They would then return to Him for “follow up” sessions. Jesus was a kinsman evangelist. Winning “souls” is not just a process of “witnessing” the “Good News of the Gospel” to those in our territorial sphere of influence. It is much, much more than witnessing to people or professing our testimony to those we are in contact with on a daily basis! Winning souls takes time and commitment. It takes a servant, a disciple to work in others’ lives. It is the Great Commission, the command of our King. Jesus came from heaven, thus He was a heavenly creature. Now we also are partakers of the divine nature. Nevertheless, as Christ took on the infirmity of human flesh, likewise the Father has subjected us to these human bodies so that we, too, can build and maintain kinsman relationships with those who are lost and out of the way.

The new creature must humble himself and submit to what could, at times, become the offensive frailties of the human race. Christ is the supreme example of this submission and humility. He became weak in the flesh so that others could see the God of His Spirit. This was a lifestyle that was reflected in every relationship He established. Winning souls is a process of “relationship” building, along with the power of the Word and the Spirit to bring in the harvest. Jesus told us we would receive power from on high. As sons of God, we are partakers of the divine nature and we have the power to witness: to show proof of the new birth and manifest the life of Christ in direct and indirect relationships. We are called to testify of the goodness of God and reveal the heart and mind of God regarding His great love for mankind.

We must also build relationships with the lost, infiltrate foreign cultures and countries, become all things to all people, absorb offenses and deny ourselves in order that others may be saved. It is now time to reap the harvest throughout the world with the True Gospel of His Kingdom: a Gospel that destroys tradition and confronts mankind with the truth about Salvation and the New Creature; a Gospel that has true purpose from a scriptural standpoint, along with a faith message that truly defines the work of the Holy Spirit in the earth realm.

Building Kinsman Relationships:

Jesus first and foremost built a kinsman relationship with His followers. He gave of Himself, His time, His love and His gifts. He got into their “heads” and confronted them with Truth. He became their teacher, their guide, their comforter and their “mentor.” He got involved in their lives and stirred them up. He “cultivated” the soil, loosened the hard parts and prepared them for the “good seed.” He won their souls and then prepared them as soldiers. He trained His leaders, and they in turn trained others to go forth with the “Great Commission.”

This was Jesus' strategy and plan for world evangelism. The entire world as was known at that time, could not have been totally evangelized without the above model operating effectively. Infiltrate foreign cultures and countries: There must not be elements of intimidation when moving into foreign countries or cultures. All the principles operating in flesh are the same. Likewise, all the needs of flesh are the same. Regardless of language, culture, social or economic differences, all mankind is in need of a Savior.

The effects of sin and the desolation of the conscience is the same in all. Therefore, effect and need are the common denominators that make all flesh the same. Never lose sight of the need for Christ in the lives of the lost. Focus on that need and it will keep you true to your purpose in the relationship. Absorb Offenses: Having been given the ministry of reconciliation, we must never impute the sin of an offender to his personage. We must obey the example of the “supreme witness.” (2 Corinthians 5:18-19).

Deny Self: Be prepared to suffer without complaint.

Mark 8:34

34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Evangelism is a process whereby we make known the secrets of God’s heart and mind to mankind, bringing it to a conviction of sin and a desire to worship Him. Effective evangelism requires love and a kinsman relationship so that the “cultivation” process can take place. In addition, it must be noted that EVANGELISM AND PRAYER CANNOT BE SEPARATED! As we prepare to evangelize our neighborhoods, prayer teams must be set up in every location to pray for the Visitation Teams and the new, prospective souls in the field that are ripe unto harvest! Also, the GE guidelines must be adhered to, and inside of each visitation team is a place for two prayer Partners. The prayer partners do not go out door to door with the Team, but stay at home or at the worship center, in prayer, during the visitation hours. Evangelism and prayer must become a way of life for each one of us in the ministry! God has placed us in these earthen vessels with a great treasure inside us and admonished us not to bury this great “light.” We are the salt of the earth. We are its only light. We have been called to be the “light” and “His witnesses” in our neighborhood, at our job, in our schools and among our friends and family.

Acts 2:32-33

32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

John 13:35

35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

D. The Bride of Christ:

A pattern for Global Evangelism in Apostolic order provides a body for new converts to be set into and then trained to go forth and reproduce new converts. Evangelism is totally ineffective when unhealthy saints are sent forth into dysfunctional homes and lives. The Church must send forth healthy Christians into dysfunctional homes bringing them back into a functional, loving family (the church) with a sound doctrinal discipleship program. Therefore, it is time we as a body produce healthy leadership teams.

We must “become the good news” before we share the “good news.” Pastors must be the first partakers and go out on the field, door-to-door with their leaders and members. Many evangelistic programs fail because churches and ministries send out unprepared, unhealthy leaders and babes to “witness” and attempt to win souls. They may witness and some lost souls may come to know the Lord, but experience and statistics have shown that unprepared disciples are fearful, ignorant of what to say, and oftentimes as unhealthy as the dysfunctional homes they enter into. In addition, if the pastors and leaders are not actively involved, the evangelistic program will fail.

The Beatitudes - The Mindset of a Servant and Disciple

Matthew 5:1-16

1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
