Why Wouldn't we Make it to Heaven

Why wouldn’t we make it into Heaven? The disciples stated that they worked out their salvation with fear and trembling making sure everything they did lined up with the Word so they would see God in peace. Many may go to heaven but only a few will stay. Those who remain in their beds and forsake coming to church will not make it to heaven. Then there are those who say there is another book that teaches of another messiah or another route - they too will not make it in. Those sitting beside you whispering in your ear the entire time the message is going forth and having no conscience of the Word of God are not going to make it; they are too busy texting and their minds are on MySpace—these will not make it in God and will bust hell wide open. If we put our boyfriend and girlfriend above God we are not going to make it. Likewise, those who put their jobs above God are not going to make it. It is a stronghold that says we can exalt these and other things above Jesus Christ and still make it into God. Paul says he must stick with the scripture—he never had a study guide to read, there were no other reference materials but the scriptures. It is the scriptures that tell us Christ died for our sins.

1 Corinthians 15:4

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Christ did not just die but He also fulfilled His promise with His resurrection from death. There may be a few things with Christianity that may be similar to other religions: Buddhism is very similar to these teachings in the principles of turning the other cheek and peace with all men. What is unique about Christianity to any other teaching is that our Author said that He was going to die and get back up in three days. Many other authors have died but none have risen. Christ is the only one who has predicted His death and His resurrection.

1 Corinthians 15:5-8

5. And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

6. After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

7. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

8. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

There were five hundred witnesses who testified seeing this man crucified then alive walking, teaching and preaching again.
