The Great Falling Away

The bible states that there will be a great falling away within the Church. In other words, many who begin in God will not end in God. I have heard these teachings as a child and when this was ministered to me as a child I could never shake it. At the church I used to attend we had movie night and the movies that were shown were about Hell. It literally scared Jesus into us. The movies were so graphic that you saw the pain and suffering that the individuals experienced. One particular movie called Burning in Hell, showed a man disrespecting church people. In the next scene you see him riding a motorcycle, he is involved in an accident and the next moment he opens his eyes in hell. Then you begin to see the various creatures (tormentors) in hell as they began to torment this man. There was a beast with the body of a horse, the face of a woman, teeth of a lion, and the tail of a scorpion. The people would just scream when the creatures approached them. We live in a world where people do everything and tell you hell does not exist. They will say “Have fun, do your thing. You don’t have to worry about hell.” DON’T BE FOOLED-- HELL EXISTS! It is real. There are some whom God has allowed to go and experience hell just to come back and tell us this place is real, DON’T GO! What is God trying to get us to see? God is trying to get us to see that where we are presently is mercy. The time we are living in right now is mercy. When we are able to serve and worship God in an air conditioned building not out of desperation but serve Him by choice – that’s mercy. In Hell mercy no longer exists. There are a number of religions that do not believe that a loving God will put people in hell. Our God has watched mankind turn their back on Him since the beginning of time. He has watched the perversion of His creation and some feel He should just accept it. They feel God should not be offended with the evil man has allowed to progress into this world. Why is there a great falling away? Many things man has wanted to believe are going to surface in these last days. One of these beliefs is that there is no consequence for sin and the world currently lives as such. But what causes those who are in the church to remain?

1 Corinthians 15:1-2

1. Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2. By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

By the preaching of the gospel we are saved. The devil has tried to dilute the message because he knows the power of the gospel. There may be many things I may want to believe yet I must believe the gospel because the things I want to believe will not save me. I may want to believe God is loving and kind therefore He will not punish sin. I may believe that living in this world is hell - this will not save me. I HAVE TO BELIEVE EVERYTHING THAT WAS ENCOMPASSED IN THE LIFE OF JESUS CHRIST. Personally, I have survived 35 years of many false religions only because I have believed the gospel and I do not open myself up to anything else. There are certain things your mind should be closed to. Any doctrine that denies the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ should never be considered. Otherwise, if you continue to entertain such beliefs you will become a victim. By the gospel we are saved and will remain so if we keep in memory those things that have been ministered unto us. We may be reared in the church as children and are involved in various church activities, we love the Lord and are in the youth choir, then we become a teenager and begin to leave certain traditions behind and say it does not take all that. We become self-conscious and think we are cute and going to church so often is too much and momma is just a fanatic. So now by age 20 we have grown out of God - we are adults now, but with that thinking we have become a fool. The devil has bewitched us to think we can grow out of God when in fact such thinking has actually caused our growth to regress. Now we are in search of other knowledge, something outside of the 66 books of the script. Yet all we need to know is that Christ was crucified and then raised from the dead, this is essential. We understand that there have been many translations of the bible but we are not saved by the translation of the script.

1 Corinthians 15:3

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

Christ died for our sins. This is not recorded in other doctrines and religions. This is not found in other schools of thought only in the scriptures. This is why the enemy wants to move us from the message of the scripture. This is evidence of a seducing spirit seducing men and women into believing anything other than the Word. If you take notice, everything in the church is highlighted but preaching and teaching. Many go to church for the choir and devotion. Some attend the mega-churches primarily to network and the teaching of the Word becomes secondary. We must be careful to stay with the scripture, if not, we will be a part of that falling away. It is the Word that will save us. By the scripture we know that Jesus died for our sins. The Word confronts mindsets in a way that can cause us to get angry but our belief in the scripture makes us remain knowing that this is the only way to God. Therefore, even if confrontation hurts, our service to God causes us to accept the confrontation and deal with the hurt and continue because there is no other way to God.
