As spiritual beings, we must realize that everything we do in the natural has a spiritual counterpart. As Sons of God, we have a guideline that God has given us to follow; a roadmap so to speak to perfection, and it is called the Word of God. The Word gives us everything we possibly could ever hope to learn of God, and gives us the solutions to all of life's questions. The Word also tells us the consequences of disobeying our Father’s commandments. There are many stories in the Word that use examples of real people like you and me who once lived on this earth, and they all got a chance to please God. Some of those people chose to obey His every Word and command, but then there were those who chose to fulfill the lust of the flesh in every capacity. And God being just in all He says and does, passed judgment on the lives of all those who have gone before us. Some might have deemed Him unfair, but God made sure He was justified in every situation. Listen as Jesus explains Himself.
St. John 12:47-50
47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
The Word of God governed Jesus’ life, and He makes it very clear that it is to govern our life as well. There are only two choices, obey the Word spoken by God, or disobey and the same Word that was spoken will testify against you.
