IV. DISCIPLING THE DISCIPLES

When the youth come to the Youth Advance they are only looking for the hype. Instead we want them to become steadfast in the message. The young people do not remain in holiness because of the attitude of their hearts. There is peace in Leesburg because of the sons of God. The sons of God walk in a spirit of peace. This is the son’s location. We cannot allow ourselves to be deceived. Just because we are in the environment of the sons does not mean that is where we are spiritually. The youth cannot claim this location in their own hearts based upon what they see and feel because spiritually they are not there. They love the Father for a few days, but He is looking for more than just a few days. We must come to a place in our hearts where after the Advance is over and we are home alone, when a situation arises, and it is just God, the devil and you, which side will you choose? As youth leaders we can no longer minister in words only. We must manifest “That Life” to the youth groups.

1 John 1:1-7

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. We are in the Spirit, but we walk after the flesh. We have to stop doing this. We must show that walking in the Spirit can be forever. We cannot be double-minded.

James 1:5-8

5. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

8. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. We must stop trying to eat from the Father’s plate and the world’s plate at the same time.

We must eat from only one plate, and that is the bread of life, which is the Word of God. Let us therefore redirect our desires. We must allow our desires to be wrapped up into the Life of Christ and allow our hearts to be converted. We (M.S.O.G.) have handled That Life and we manifested That Life. We have experienced love, joy and peace in the Holy Ghost. No matter what our natural situation was, we experienced that peace and joy. The Father gave us this joy and He called us unto Himself. He asked us to give ourselves a chance to experience This Life and He gave us something to compare our old lives to.

Romans 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

God wants us to experience a LIFE, not just a day of no sin. In Christ, it is natural NOT to sin. To live sin free seemed so hard before, but sin does not have the power that it used to.

1 John 1:6-10

6. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. This is why when sons of God sin, we are condemned.

Our true nature is sinless. The conscience is going to testify to this sinless nature and any other response is a lie. Our true nature will tell us that we do not have to sin. The life of sin is the lie for the sons of God. If we sin, it is our choice.

As sons, we are no longer comfortable in sin. Many times it is not that the temptation is so great; we just want to sin; we want what is in the lie. The enemy has lied to the youth by saying that they will always struggle and are really natural even with the Holy Ghost. Because they have the Holy Spirit they will say they are spiritual but really do not believe it. Their minds cannot even perceive that “I am holy.” Their minds go looking for sin because that is all it ever knew and is use to doing. The last thing we have to give to the Father is our heart. We should trust Him with our heart. His track record is established towards us by His goodness time and time again, so why is it that we will not give Him our heart?

Look at the children of Israel. They constantly disobeyed God, even after He made His reputation known to them. They did not trust or believe God, nor did He have their hearts. The flesh is insatiable (cannot be satisfied). It does not mind the laws of God. It has no memory of His goodness. The carnal mind is not subject unto God. When we walk in the flesh all we think about is what flesh wants instead of God’s goodness. Where do we go from here?

We have seen too much and have tasted too much of the goodness of God to go anywhere else. It is an honor to be chosen by God. He will take your life and place you in the forefront to show others how to walk, live and stay in the Spirit. God will place us in situations where we are forced to trust Him. This is done so that He can establish a reputation of Himself with us. He will not always bail us out either. He will place us in some circumstances, situations and relationships to show us that we can walk through. The power of God is seen when we can lose something and still be faithful to Him. We have to see that God did everything according to His good pleasure. We have to be at peace wherever He has us.

Men cannot see Christ if the only time we put Him on display is during the Youth Advance. We are the Church. It is our responsibility to bring the church to the world. We must put this life on display everywhere we go.
