God Leads Through His Message

B: GOD LEADS THROUGH HIS MESSAGE

Now in the life of a disciple it is essential to hear from God. So, on this journey we had embarked on, we were waiting to hear from God. We needed to know our next move. At this time Doc began to teach the message, “That Life.”

1 John 1:1-3

1. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

2. (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

3. That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

This message let us know that God had picked out a life for us already and it is the only life He accepts. The life of Christ has been given to us to live. We do not have to make any decisions, we just go where this life leads us. This message blessed me and Primes so much that one night we were just going on and on about it. We went to Wal-Mart with the rest of the guys and were still talking about it, so much so that we just left because we were just getting too loud in the store. We went to the house still discussing the message, “That Life,” and it became evident that the Spirit of the Lord had joined the conversation. Because the hour was growing late I told Primes I was about to leave but wanted to pray before I left. Now mind you it was only Primes and I in the house, with the exception of the Spirit of the Lord. Primes and I began to pray and the Spirit fell on us and we were caught up. By this time the rest of the guys began to come in. Greg, Daryn, Byron, Eric and Shaun and the Spirit fell on them as well. It brought us to our knees and then on our faces before God. We surrendered totally to this life called Christ and then God spoke.

You had to be there. I do not want to misquote God but I do know He said He had called us just as He had called the disciples of old. Now, we are His disciples. Men who had no other reason to live. Men, whose lives were tormented with past failures. Men who needed water that did not come from a well. Our failures, disappointments, pasts and uncertain futures caused us to run to God. And when we found Him we clung to Him forever. We rejoiced that night! We all had tears in our eyes. I remember looking at E, (Eric), thinking I want to be humble just like him. I was just amazed how God made Eric a part of this and even put him in MSOG. The brother is an awesome evangelist. Bishop Hughes should be proud. Eric is a best friend to all of us without even knowing us that long.

John 13:35

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

I think what really connected Eric and I was the fact that we are both married to beautiful women who do not hinder us in ministry. Yes, I must thank God for Micheka and Angela. They both have been very supportive. God blessed us with the right women. We kept rejoicing in the Lord and did not know where this life would take us but knew we would follow it back to the Father.

Then the devil tried to get in our praise. We will not give him any space by writing what he tried to do. Just know we dealt with him thoroughly. Praise be to God! The next days in our lives would be very interesting. We were actually disciples.
