The Sons: One with God

We must believe on Christ as the scriptures have declared Him. We must also believe what they have said about the sons. We are the workmanship of God and He has made us one with Him. Up to now this has been beyond our understanding.

John 17:21-23

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are

one:

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Now this is extremely important. If the sons of God do not manifest their oneness with God and Christ, then the world will not know that Jesus was truly sent by God to declare the heart and mind of the Father. The word one, used here, is the Greek word heis which simply means only. To be one with God is to be an expression of God; to think as He thinks, to feel as He feels, to say and do as He does. There are no variations of God. To be one with Him is to be a presentation of the true and living God.This is the essence of our salvation. This is the mystery that was hidden in God. God is in us, but we are also in Him.

We are made perfect in one; therefore, we all have the selfsame spirit. For our life (our spirit or our being) is hid with Christ in God (Col 3:3). This we know in theory. But this is also the very truth we reject in reality.

The Church has not been taught the truth regarding oneness with God and Christ. It still believes in the uniqueness of Jesus regarding sonship. All the scriptures that show the contrary are ignored, overlooked or given an erroneous interpretation. NEVERTHELESS, ONE IS ONE. We are the only individuals on the earth capable of rendering a true manifestation of God and Christ. As I was writing this book, at about 5:00 in the evening, the Lord opened my eyes to see the sons of God as they really are. For years we have quoted, “As He is so are we,” but until now even I had not seen the total ramifications of that statement. Suddenly, I began to see scriptures in a way I had never seen them before.

1 Corinthians 15:47-49

47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.

48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

And this is the persuasion: God preserves man and beast. Again, as He is, so are we. This truth is at the root of the plan and purpose of God. It is the divine intent of the Father to create sons who are the express image of Christ, who is also the express image of God. This oneness with God and Christ is a literal state of being. We (our spiritual parts) have been recreated in the image of Christ. He is a quickening spirit, thus it follows that we, too, are quickening (life-giving) spirits. This union with God is literal. It is not hypothetical.

John 5:18

Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but also said that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

Here we can see that the Jews understood what it meant to be a son of God. In declaring God to be His Father, Jesus would be equal with God. Thus, He would be something that is not of this world. He would be greater than any man. He would be divine in nature, power and authority. Nevertheless, Jesus came in meekness and lowliness. He walked in humility regarding the flesh, not testifying of Himself, but only spoke those things pertaining to God and godliness. He came to declare the Father; for no man had seen the Father, neither did any know Him. But in the equality of His walk, the Father was able to speak through the vessel known as Jesus.

John 14:9

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

This is the manifestation of the “oneness” given to us by God. He should be able to speak the same through us. When one looks upon us, they should be able to see the Father.

John 1:12-13

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

The sons of God were not created flesh and blood. They are spirit beings, as God is the Father of spirits (Hebrews 12:9).

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption (1 Corinthians 15:50).Therefore, the body we possess now is simply a vessel that allows us to maintain our lawful state as kinsman to mankind. As Jesus was here on earth, so are we. He was the son of man, an offspring of the seed of Abraham and David. But this sonship only referred to the flesh. Listen to Jesus’ exposé on the subject:

John 3:13

And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

He was born of the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of the Living God. He is the Lord from Heaven. He took on flesh and became the son of man for the purpose of dying on the cross. He walked the earth in a body, but the Son of God remains in heaven.
