When God Withholds

Many of us harbor desires in our hearts, longing for certain experiences or gifts. While these desires aren't inherently sinful, we sometimes find ourselves grappling with discontentment, fearing we may never attain these aspirations. It is often said that finding contentment in the Lord is the key to a fulfilling Christian life. The question remains: how does one attain contentment? It begins with embracing the fact that God is in control over every aspect of life.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

God's love for us, His children, is profound and detailed. He considers the secret desires of our hearts and actually delights in fulfilling them if they align with His will. However, if granting those desires would lead you away from Him, He will withhold them.

God withholds for the greater good of your eternal well-being. At times, discontentment arises because we fail to see that God not only cares for our best interests, but our desires too. Nevertheless, what is best for us, takes precedence. If we truly trust Him, we'll recognize that His care extends to even the most minute details. God has numbered the hairs on your head; He loves you and has determined that you deserve only what's best for you. Embrace contentment in His sovereign love.
