Teamwork and Cooperation

Teamwork and cooperation are vital for maintaining unity and achieving common goals in ministry. For effective ministry and prayer, it is essential that the leadership in a church or ministry be in full agreement with the message and direction of the ministry. Disunity and lack of agreement among leaders will hinder their ability to effectively minister and pray together.

Such attitudes undermine instituted authority and hinder the unity needed for the local church to grow spiritually. The overall emphasis is that for ministers to be effectively ordained and serve together, there must be a spirit of humility, teamwork, and unity among the leadership. Competitiveness, division, and lack of agreement will only serve to undermine the work.

Consider the following in your assessment:

• Are there any persons on your leadership staff that is difficult to work with or constantly causes confusion?
• Are there any signs of competitiveness or a desire for preeminence?
• Does this individual easily submit to the ideas, gifts, talents, expertise, and ministry of others?

Philippians 2:2-4
