THE LAW OF THE GODS

We have discovered that we are indeed gods. Hold on to that truth. Do not allow doubt or controversy to pervert that which the Lord has clearly stated. Yet ask yourself . . . to what purpose is God speaking to us? Does He want us to become lifted in pride, so we might arrogantly explain to men that we are so much better than they? I think not.

The Father has sent us to serve this present age. The Son(s) are not sent to condemn the world, we have been chosen to be the light of the world; that through Him (them) the world might have a hope of salvation (John 3:16-17).

But now it is imperative we understand what is expected of us. Let us look again at the intention of God in joining us to the Spirit of Christ. We are able to get a glimpse as Jesus prays in the Garden saying, “Father, make them one, as we are one”. He went on to explain what He meant.

John 17:20-23

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Though the scripture above is pretty much straight forward, there is one thing I would like to really zero in on , . . . the last verse; “that they may be made perfect in one.” If the Father answered the Lord’s prayer, then the church ought to be perfect because of its oneness with God. This is the part of the gospel of Christ most rejected by the clergy today. God’s children were born perfect. They have no birth defects. They are complete in Christ. They are holy.

Galatians 6:2

2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

1 Peter 1:23

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.

The Sons of God are indeed born of an incorruptible seed, which is the Word of God. Just as the corruptible seed of Adam produced children of his kind (carnal, sinful men), the incorruptible seed of God He placed in Mary by His Spirit has reproduced His kind (spiritual, holy gods). We must be careful to hear this Word as the Father has always declared it.

James 1:17-18

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

Simply put, the apostles and all those born again on the day of Pentecost were the first fruits (reproduction) of the Father’s kind. The Sons are indeed born of God. They are the very offspring of perfection. I submit to you that if the members of the present Church had been taught the truth from the beginning, then they would be able to manifest that perfection. But certain men in unawares, crept into the church and planted false teachings and doctrines of devils in the hearts of the people.

I must also interject here, that some of these false teachings were due to ignorance and the lack of apostolic order. But a great deal is due to the wantonness, lust and greed of men. The influence of the enemy operating through these men has created much confusion and unbelief in the Church. That having been said, we must be sure to stand in that which God has said and to minister the truth regarding our tenure here on earth.

Though we are not of this world, we are sent into the world to allow the mystery of Christ to be fulfilled in and through us. We have been given the ministry and the word of reconciliation the Father is using to bring forth His kind. While we are indeed the ambassadors of His purpose, it is manifest that we are called to be as lambs among wolves.

We must live as laborers in an anti-Christ environment, yet maintain the true character of Christ; just so the world will believe that God did send Him. It seems the character of the sons, is the only vision the world will see of our Lord Jesus. How is this to be done? How will we be able to accomplish such a thing?

In the Old Covenant, God gave Israel laws to live by. But as we come to the New Covenant, He declares that there are only two laws relative to us.

Mark 12:29-31

29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Jesus taught that all of the law He gave to Israel hung on these two commandments (Matthew 22:37-40). These two commands are also expressed as the righteousness of the law, and there was never a man in all Israel or the world who was able to keep them without transgressing.

Sacrifices, divers washings and the sprinkling of the blood of rams and goats were added to the law to cover the sins of the people. However, with those sacrifices God had no pleasure. You know the story. He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross and take away our sins. WHY? Because those sacrifices could not remove sin or bring forth God’s perfection within them.

It is evident Israel could not keep the law because the motions of sin did work in their members (Romans 7:5). In addition to dying for us, Jesus testified He came to set the captives free; referring to the fact that the spirit of iniquity (the spirit of the prince of the power of the air) worked in us (Ephesians 2:2). This was the spirit of bondage.

Therefore, no matter how much we might have delighted in the law of God, there was another law, working in our members, warring against the law of our mind, and bringing us into captivity to the law of sin which was at work in our members (Romans 7:23).

Now the question is, “Is there another law given in the New Testament for the sons of God to live by?” The answer is yes. It is the Law of the Spirit of Life.

Romans 8:1-2

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

The embodiment of the Law of Moses is the Ten Commandments. It was by the Law given to Moses that men knew and understood what God called sin. But let us keep in mind this Law was given to a natural people. They were a people who lived in and walked after the flesh.

Though written on tables of stone, it was the righteousness of God revealed. According to Paul, the Ten Commandments are spiritual, or rather, of the Spirit. But Israel was carnal, sold under sin (held captive by the law of sin and death Romans 7:14).

Paul went on to say, “For I delight in the law of God after the inward man”. The inward man being the soul and/or spirit. “But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind” (soul, heart, spirit), “and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am, who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin (Romans 7:22-25).

The Father has nailed the ordinances, found in the Mosaic Law, to the cross (Colossians 2:14). But He is unchanging and so is His standard of righteousness. These ordinances were nothing more than methods by which Israel fulfilled obedience; and although the Father’s methodology for fulfilling righteousness has changed, His standard of righteousness has not.

The expectation of the Father is that His righteousness be fulfilled in us. However, this is not all. There is so much more the Father desires us to see here. When He refers to the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus: the Father is not pointing to a list of rules, but is much rather pointing to the law of His nature within us. This new law is the Law of the Spirit of Life in Jesus Christ. It relates to and governs our life in Christ.

Law can also be defined as the effect that a particular natural or scientific phenomenon always occurs if certain conditions are present (i.e. the law of gravity). This passage in Romans reveals that the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ makes us free from sin. Wherever the Spirit of Life dwells, that body is free from sin. It is impossible for the motions of sin, which are by the Law of Sin and Death, to operate in that flesh, where the Law of the Spirit of Life is present.

Therefore, those who have received the Spirit of Adoption do not have to ever fear the spirit of bondage ruling the fleshy body again. Let us really define the meaning of all of this. The Spirit of Life is Jesus Christ Himself who has come to live in our fleshy bodies. The presence of the Christ makes the flesh a new man.

This new man does not commit sin, because the seed of Christ remains in him. At some point you are going to have to accept this as fact and purpose of the Father. The Law for the gods of this world is a law of life that transforms or quickens our mortal bodies into holy habitations for the Godhead to dwell here on earth in a bodily form.

Think of the glory of this law. It has produced righteousness in the flesh; the former place of great depravity. This Law of the Spirit enabled God to show principalities and powers His manifold wisdom.

A new man is born. He is the workmanship of God. He is holy in spirit, soul and body. In him, as in the Father is no darkness at all. The flesh of the new creature is raised in newness of life. It is raised by the Spirit of God, who remains in it. Therefore, it cannot be tempted with sin. James understood this. He said if a man is tempted after salvation, he is drawn away from the principles of God by his own lust. That is lust he creates with the desire of his soul.

Therefore, the Sons are free. Not just free to do as the Father has said, but also free to be as the Father is (in no darkness at all). The very nature and character of God is a law, thus as we walk in what/who we are, then we become a law unto ourselves.

Romans 2:14-15

14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another

The nature of God is law for the Sons. The Father is attempting to show us that being a Son of God is truly altogether a work of His Spirit. He has testified to us that the ministration of the Spirit shall be much greater and glorious than what was done in the shadow. The Father has chosen that the glory of His nature be placed on display in His Church (congregation of gods) for both men and principalities and powers to see.

The very law of this nature is lived out in us as we walk in what we are, as we walk according to where we are (heavenly places), and as we walk in Him.

Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

The divine nature of Christ within us does not have to strive or struggle to walk in the character of the Father. When the law of His Spirit is at work in us, we become the express images of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meek- ness and temperance. The Sons of God are fully capable of walking in the fullness of our Father without controversy.

Before we continue any further, I want to point out a most important point here. Note the last phrase in verse 23; “against such, there is no law.” This is the real glory of the ministration of the Spirit of God in this dispensation. It is a manifestation of the Law of the Old Covenant, being lived out in the flesh. This was impossible for the Children of Israel. They could not fulfill the Law of Moses in their flesh. To walk in the Spirit is to be meek, temperate, long-suffering, good, faithful and gentle.

This is the character of love; which is the summation of the Law of Moses. To walk in the law of the Spirit of Life is not to break or change the law of the Old Covenant but to fulfill it. I also want to point out that the operation of the Law of the Spirit of Life in human flesh is more powerful than any other law. Quite frankly, it destroys the Law of Sin and Death that was at work in our members. We are free from sin and death. They have no more dominion over us. Let us rejoice in the liberty of the Spirit of Life.
