The Reformation

Definition from The Bible Teacher App:

"The reformation, as discussed in these texts, refers to a spiritual transformation within the Church and its members. It is described as a process of straightening and restoring the

Church to its original, divine purpose. The reformation is seen as a universal ministerial walk that redefines the Church, aiming to produce a Body that walks in the fullness of the stature of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 4:13).

The reformation is also associated with the manifestation of the true sons of God, who walk in the Spirit of Christ and regard the Word of God as law for their lives. The reformation of the Church begins with the reformed life of each of its members, with the goal of achieving unity of faith and presenting a perfected lifestyle to the Father. The reformation is also seen as a call to carry the mind of Christ to the Church and the world, and to live holy everyday."

The Mystery of Christ

The mystery of Christ is the redemption of the lost soul. We have been made complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10); and as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).

Colossians 1:27-28

27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

As you can see from the images above, the mystery of salvation is the divine plan of God to save mankind. We were spiritually dead and alienated from God due to sin (colored red above). God’s plan involved taking man’s soul out of the flesh, which is likened to a walking coffin, and placing him in the Spirit of Christ (colored gold). Sin was removed from the body by a spiritual circumcision. The Spirit of Christ (or the Holy Ghost) is the only life that exists, so once He entered our body, we were brought alive. What used to be

a walking coffin is now a temple of the living God. The method God uses to bring man into fellowship with the mystery of Christ is the preaching of the gospel, which is the death,

burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This plan and method make up the mystery of salvation.

The mystery of Christ, the mystery of God, and the mystery of Godliness are all the same and can be used interchangeably. This mystery remained hidden in God until the formation of the Church. It is a hidden revelation of the work of the Father, which was revealed to the saints and made them part of the mystery. The redemption of the lost soul is the core of this mystery. Before salvation, we were all alienated from God. Sin separated us from Him and each other. But God so loved the world, that he gave his

only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). This is the good news. Man is given another chance to live, which is the essence of the mystery of salvation.
