There are some children who grew up in homes where there was much abuse: spousal abuse or sibling rebellion. A daughter, for example, may have done things like sneak boys into the house while the parents were away or asleep. Some children were exposed to drugs at a young age. Many of them also became drug abusers, smoking weed (marijuana) or crack cocaine.

As the child experiences these different things, they are not always able to make the right judgment, as to the right and wrong in these experiences. Therefore, negative mindsets and damaged emotions are developed at an early age. The child sees what the parents do and allow as acceptable; or that a particular lifestyle is “just the way things are.”

The devil starts to carve paths that are contrary to the will of God for the child’s life. I think that David said it best in Psalm 51:5 when he said, “I was shapen in iniquity and in sin did my mother conceive me.” We agree that we were born in sin, due to the fall of Adam and were shaped by iniquity (the character of Satan) because of the presence of the evil seed from childhood. The devil did his work so well, we did not detect the magnitude of the effect his evil influence had on us, until later in our lives when it began to surface in our character.

Earlier I mentioned that the original thought or suggestion of sin might have come from you. These thoughts could come from the memory of past sin; whether directly, (things that you actually lived out in the flesh) or indirectly, (something that you may have watched others do). This is why it is so important that we train our minds to think on righteous things and to keep our conversations holy.

Philippians 1:27

27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.

Every time we entertain an unholy conversation or watch a movie that is obviously unholy, we remind ourselves of the sin we once lived. The memory of the pleasure that the flesh experience from the sin is being rekindled. The imagination is one of the functions of the heart. It is the place where thoughts are housed for further consideration. Jesus said, if a man looks upon a woman to lust after her, he has already sinned in his heart (St. Matthew 5:28). The imagination is capable of creating endless possibilities. It Manufactures plans and desires that become pre-lived operations of the flesh. It is an incubator for thoughts; it holds, protects and nurtures them until they are mature enough to become life.

When this operation produces evil desires, they are then ready to be lived out in the flesh. The imagination will enlist the aid of the physical body, by stimulating it with images of total fulfillment. Thus, reminding it of the pleasure it once experienced. When this is accomplished, the sin is manifested in the real world.

In the DNA of the natural man, memories are passed down. This Is why people may say, “You act like your father,” or “You're Just like your grandmother.” Likewise, sin in the DNA is kept and passed down from generation to generation. This is why the scripture says, in Romans 5:14, ‘Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come’. The children born after Adam had the same memory of sin as their forefather. The sin was embedded in the DNA makeup of mankind. Thus, Jesus was able to say, “Light has come, but men prefer darkness.”

God gave the imagination to push mankind forward; to cultivate the land, to replenish and subdue the earth. But it became tainted due to its consumption of the knowledge of good and evil. Now the imagination is a place where perversions can live. Lust runs rampant and murders take place daily. All these things happen in the imagination first, and then are lived out in the natural world. This was not God’s intent.

Genesis 6:5

5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

There is a principle in the world which states, “You are what you eat.” The same is true spiritually. If we feed our souls with filth, we will produce and eventually become filth. The enemy knows the power of persistence and continually bombards our souls with the evil of this world. He knows the un-regenerated man will eventually begin to prefer evil.

Did you ever wonder why the enemy is so passionate about introducing sex to children? The games and dances kids do today are very sexual. It is his way of catapulting young minds into situations that they are not mature enough to handle. Satan’s music and perverse dancing begins to shape a child's thinking and ignites emotions and desires they have never experienced. These desires were created by the things their eyes, ears, and touch gate entertained.

The same is true of the child who is a victim of child abuse via homosexuality. If this is their first sexual encounter, then they don’t know how to break the desire that has been created in them. However, there is a man who is stronger than the one who is holding their soul in captivity. He is able to do what we cannot do on our own.

Romans 7:24

24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

This is the state the heart must come to in order for God to save it. Do not be discouraged. The enemy may use these five senses or gates to pervert the soul, but God uses these same gates to bring deliverance to the soul. How does faith come? Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. If we open our soul to the Word of God like we open it to social media, we will progress in things of the Spirit.

Romans 12:1-2

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable

service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Trust in the Word of God. It is the only hope for freedom from the perversions of the mind and flesh. I have seen God deliver those who had given up on themselves. It does not matter how far you have fallen into the abyss of the devil, God can pull you out. He is able to give you a clean, powerful new start.

God is able to make you a new creature! My sister, my brother, if you are saved (filled with the Holy Ghost), you are not the same as Adam. You are capable of sacrificing your own fleshy desires for the sake of God-like, God-inspired and God-given love that passes natural understanding. It is totally unselfish in nature and able to forego any self-gratification.

I hope you are able to see why it is imperative that we are born-again. Salvation gives us with a complete makeover. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things passed away, and all things are new, and all things are of God” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

All that we were, died, and we’ve become new creatures. All the evil is washed away, and our mind is free from all unrighteousness. Through salvation we are able to serve our God. When the imagination is cultivated and feed spiritual things, we are able to do those things that please the Father.
