How Do the Sons Break Free of Seduction?

To break the power of the enemy, you must first acknowledge that you have given him power over you. Paul taught Timothy how to instruct those members of the church who had fallen back into captivity.

2 Timothy 2:25-26

25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

There will never be any breaking free of the spirit of seduction, until you first admit that you have fallen into captivity. If one insists that they are fine and or spiritual, the blindness will remain. When a son of God never truly embraces the mystery of Christ, it is so easy for the enemy to seduce them into doing his bidding. These sons become puppets to be used by satan and others who have surrendered to the temptations of the devil.

For example: I have counselled members who emphatically insist that they are walking in the Spirit. I would say things like, “You don’t walk in a spirit of humility, or, you are self-willed, or you are led by your emotions.” They would respond, “yes I see that.” Now a sober-minded saint would recognize and conclude that; “if I am guilty of any one of those deeds, then I am truly not walking in the Spirit. But the seduced son of God will do the same thing Adam did. He was not deceived by the serpent, he was seduced by Eve, the serpent’s puppet. Therefore, knowing that he would be walking contrary to the will of God, he chose to do so anyway. The difference in Adam and some of today's saints, who walk not after the Spirit is that he feared the presence of God and humbled himself. This humility saved his life and that of his wife.

Sadly, some have allowed their hearts to become hardened by:

• the emotions of their offenses

• what they believe to be their knowledge of situations concerning others

• their opinions

• the way they see things

Thus, they become emboldened, disrespectful, and arrogant. They become unbelievers and abusers of the very same principles they once ministered. They do hear God or those who speak for him. It is not that they don’t know the truth when they hear it, it is that they reject it. The truth does not allow them to remain in their virtual reality. It demands a response that will satisfy God. In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; The Lord knows that his children are willingly seduced by the enemy. Therefore, it is his mercy that will allow them to repent of such yielding to satan. This is not a time for arrogance, indifference, or disrespect. The believer’s soul is at stake. The truth is, many have been turned over to the will of satan, but don’t know it. This is the judgment of the Lord. He has not drawn them to repentance. I have pleaded for some that have not humbled themselves in the face of truth.

HOW DO THE SONS BREAK FREE OF SEDUCTION?

Even after they admit that they do some of the things I pointed out earlier in this chapter, they never admit that they are carnally minded and that they are not walking in the Spirit. They still insist that they are in the Spirit. Their own pride and arrogance has deceived them. But then there are those who are standing at the threshold of being judged by the Father. They still have a chance to beg God for mercy (the right to continue in Christ). If so, perhaps he just might grant them repentance. There is no guarantee that He will. They are not as one who knew not God, but said and did things that bring reproach to the name of the Lord. They are of the Father, children of the Most High. They have testified of the word and way of God. But now they choose to walk after the flesh and completely ignore the righteousness of the word. The first step is to acknowledge their carnality. To refuse to do so is to make God a liar. This is what happens when we proclaim ourselves to be righteous, when indeed we live according to our emotions, desires, opinions, and self-righteous judgments. True repentance, if granted, will open the eyes of the spiritually blind. It will shine the light on the darkness of the heart, thoughts, and will.

The illumination of artificial light, whose source is the influence of others, will be destroyed. If you know that you are not walking after the Spirit of God, stop lying to yourself. Cry out to the Lord for mercy. Stop giving heed to the false security that says God will always grant you mercy. Stop taking chances with crossing the line of demarcation. Beloved, there is no guarantee you will recover from the sin of offending the Holy Ghost. Humble yourself before the hand of God. Show the respect the Holy Spirit is due. God will only respond to the humble, contrite heart and broken spirit. You must be godly sorrowful for offending and grieving the Holy Spirit in your walk. When God responds, you will see truth and righteousness again. You will see how far you have fallen away from that truth. Repent, and again I say repent.
