Chapter 9

Istand in awe at the faithfulness of our God. The Father is exalting Truth; and we are witnessing the rise of the Sons of God in the midst of us. Although the message is not a new one, God is pouring out fresh manna as He assured us He would. He is deepening our understanding and sharpening our articulation. He is preparing us for the Nations. The time is upon us to go. There is a small window of time for evangelism, and we must move swiftly to carry this Gospel to the four corners of the world. Therefore, it is time for us all to be refreshed in the message, and the mandate that has been given to us of the Father.

The Lord has raised us to see the Mystery of Christ. He revealed the New Creature, and the New Man: showing us that as the soul is joined to the Lord, it is made one Spirit with Him and thus, becomes a new creature. This creature is a different creation from Adam. He also revealed that as Christ enters and quickens the mortal flesh, He becomes the New Man who lives in our flesh. Christ purposes to use these earthen vessels to reveal the life of the Father to the world.

Our knowledge in this Mystery has allowed us to comprehend the new creature’s ability to live in perfection: choosing to obey God in all things, at all times. We know that we can walk in the holiness and righteousness of God in every situation, circumstance and relationship. The revelation that God has given us automatically sets us as contenders for the Faith; because we are able to discern the messages that are being preached in the Body which are oppositions to the true Gospel of the Kingdom. We were trained not to go along just to get along, but rather to stand both in and for what God has said. We have been called and trained to be a light to the world, and a reformation to the Church.

Yet, despite our walk with the Lord over the years, I am reminded of what Jesus said to Peter as the time of His departure drew Summary Scripture:

Hebrews 3:12 - Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. sifting the sons

near: And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat – Luke 22:31. The word sift is defined as, examine (something) thoroughly so as to isolate that which is most important or useful: to separate something, especially something to be discarded, from something else – New Oxford American Dictionary. After 3-plus years of walking with the Lord, God having revealed to Peter that Jesus was the Son of the living God, Satan desired to rob him. Satan wanted to fleece Peter of all that He had learned, and all that he was purposed by God to do in ministry. We as sons, must be cognizant of this very truth, despite our walk with God, Satan desires to sift us as wheat also. Satan purposes to bring as many of us as he can to walking in opposition to what God has taught us, and to sift us of the very purpose that God ordained for us; to begat more sons.

How can a Son with knowledge of Truth be sifted?

Consider this exhortation from Apostle Paul to the Church in the book of Hebrews.

Hebrews 3:12-19:

12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

This passage of Scripture is directed to the Brethren (Sons). These are Sons that are born of the Spirit of God. Yet, while being born again they could enter into what the Scripture refers to as an evil heart of unbelief. In doing so, they would depart from the living God. When the scripture says, departing from the living God, it is speaking to removing one’s self from walking in the way that is God. The Scriptures tell us, If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. – Galatians 5:25. In another place it instructs us; As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. – Colossians 2:6-7. However, unbelief prevents us from walking in the Spirit, and therefore prevents us from fulfilling the things that God has purposed to accomplish through us.

However, there is something that is vital to every one of us as sons comprehending. The Scripture says, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. We as Sons must understand that despite what we have heard, or the witness that we received in our spirits, every time we entertain sin, we also entertain deception. Every sin is inspired by the spirit of Satan (the liar), thus all sins are laced with lies. Sin is deceitful, and it has power to persuade a son contrary to what the Father has revealed to them.

Walking in sin gives Satan access to what you believe and agree with. This is how Satan sift sons, he coerces them to walk contrary to who and what they are so long, until they become altogether convinced that the perfection is impossible. We must see the sifting here, if Satan can conform a son to this world (sin and carnality), then unbelief will thrive.

Let us continue to hear to fullness of the warning here;

14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

If we endure to the end as Sons, we have been promised to reign with our Lord. However, this reign is dependent upon our willingness to suffer with Him. The Scriptures are warning us, pointing to the example established by Israel. After being delivered from Egypt (a type of our salvation), Israel entered into unbelief as they experienced trials in the wilderness (a type of suffering with Christ). Just as the Lord ordained suffering for Israel (Deuteronomy 8:2-3), He has also called us to suffer likewise (Philippians 1:29). Just as God took Israel by the hand and led them out of captivity and through the trial of the wilderness, He has also taken every son by the hand, brought them out of darkness and is leading them by His Spirit (Romans 8:14). Yes, and just as Israel we are capable of walking in sin and unbelief as we are being led in the life and sufferings of Christ. If we walk as they did, the pattern will hold true, we will not be able to enter into the promise because of sin and unbelief. This is the hour to be vigilant. This is the hour to examine ourselves to see if we truly be in the faith. This is not a time to flirt with the world and the pleasures of sin. We must walk in what we have learned, we must fulfill all purpose. The Lord spoke through Apostle Kareem in School of the Prophets and told us that there is nothing to think about when His Truth (Word) is revealed. He taught that thinking (reasoning with the fleshy mind) gives room for us to enter into unbelief. I want to make a note, asking God for wisdom or clarity of articulation is not the same as reasoning with the fleshy mind. We are reasoning with the fleshy mind when we hold off on fully embracing what God has said, because it doesn’t make sense to us. It is when we ignore the Scriptures because we have deemed what they declare as ‘farfetched’ from what we consider as reality. Once again, here is where walking in sin becomes dangerous, because the deceitfulness of it persuades the saints to see a consistent walk in perfection as an impossible task.

When we walk in sin and unbelief we are cut off from fellowship with the Father. The Scripture declares, God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth –

1 John 1:5-6. When we are removed from our fellowship with God we are not able to experience or share His power that lives in us. However, when we do not discern that it is an absence of fellowship that we are experiencing, Satan will convince us that our frailties are the result of a lack of power. If we continue in sin Satan will establish a track record of failure that causes us to become rooted in unbelief. Once we are rooted in unbelief, our carnal thinking will bring us to enmity with God and godliness. We will deny in heart and deed, the truth about our divine nature as sons.

Be encouraged, choose to obey God in all things, at all times; and you will maintain fellowship and faith in God. To walk in truth is to make the lie powerless. Do not give place to Satan; believe that you are what God says you are.
