Day 6: Living in God’s Will

260 words, about 1 min read

📖 2 Peter 1:5–7 – “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.”

👉 Reflection: Which of these qualities do I need to “apply” more in my current trials?

🙏 Prayer: Father, thank You for giving me Your Spirit and everything I need for life and godliness. Help me to apply virtue, patience, love, and all that You’ve placed in me, so that my faith is fruitful and effective.

The word “add” doesn’t mean we must produce these traits from scratch. It means apply what God has already put in you through the Holy Spirit. Every trial or temptation is an opportunity to supply virtue, patience, or love into that situation. You already carry His divine nature—now let it flow out.

Peter says faith is just the beginning. Faith is the foundation, but God calls us to build on it by applying the character of Christ in daily life.

Faith with Virtue – Our belief shows in holy living. Virtue with Knowledge – We need God’s Word to know what righteousness looks like.

Knowledge with Self-Control – Truth requires discipline to resist sin.

Self-Control with Patience – Endurance strengthens us in trials.

Patience with Godliness – Trials form Christ’s character in us. Godliness with Brotherly Affection – True godliness shows in how we treat others.

Brotherly Affection with Love – Love crowns them all, putting others before self as Christ did.
