A NECESSARY REVIEW: THE RAPTURE MISPLACED: SATAN’S GREATEST DECEPTION

Chapter 1 – A Necessary Review: The Rapture Misplaced: Satan’s Greatest Deception After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

At this point, I must be very candid. The breaking of the golden rule of biblical interpretation has had its most tragic consequences right here. From this one verse, an entire belief system and theological framework has been unlawfully constructed. It stands as one of the greatest tragedies to ever occur in the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ, giving rise to one of the greatest deceptions of all time.

Remember: It is unlawful to assign a symbolic meaning to something or someone unless the Scripture itself provides that meaning. Nowhere in the text is there any indication that John represents the Church. He is simply the apostle chosen to see, record, and deliver the vision to the churches.

Consider the implications. By abandoning sound interpretive principles, some have claimed that when John is invited by a voice “like a trumpet” to “come up hither,” he symbolically represents the rapture of the entire Body of Christ. This is an unfounded leap. According to this flawed interpretation, John ceases to be an individual receiving revelation and suddenly becomes a symbol for the Church being raptured from the earth. But, my dear beloved, if that were true, it would mean that from this point forward in the book of Revelation, no one on earth would have the testimony of Christ.

Below are some verses that immediately refute this claim:

1 Corinthians 15:52

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

This verse refers to a literal trumpet—the last trump—that will sound before the dead in Christ are raised and the living are transformed. It is not just any trumpet, but a specific one marked by its order: The last trumpet. Consider the following passages:

Revelation 8:2

2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.

7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. In the days when the angel with the seventh trumpet begins to sound, the mystery of Christ will be finished. This is the key that many “pre-trib.” scholars have either overlooked or ignored.

Colossians 1:26-28

26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

This mystery—Christ in you, the hope of glory—is what will be finished or brought to completion at the sounding of the seventh trumpet. It is the full revelation and glorification of the Body of Christ. In Revelation chapter 10, we see that the Church is still on the earth, hoping and waiting for this fulfillment. The mystery is not finished until the trumpet sounds, marking the true “last trump” and the completion of God’s redemptive work in His people.

Revelation 6:9-11

9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

In Revelation chapter 6, it is made clear that there are still other believers—referred to as fellow servants and brethren—on the earth during the time of the Antichrist. These individuals will be killed, just as many of the early Church martyrs and present-day believers have been.

Revelation 13:4 & 7

4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? …

Revelation 14:11-13

11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

During the time of the mark of the beast, the Church is still on the earth. Their patience and faith is being tried by the persecution of the Antichrist. And at this time, a voice from Heaven speaks concerning the saints that are still alive on earth.

Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth.

Do we truly believe that God would rapture a part of the Church in the 4th chapter and leave the rest of the Church, whom he declares have the testimony of Jesus Christ and that keep His commandments? He is the one who calls them saints.

Nevertheless, I would venture to say that more than 90% of the Church believes that the Church will be raptured off the earth before any of the things John is shown that will take place hereafter actually become live events on the earth.

This is tragic and grossly deceptive.

I do not for one moment believe that all who preach such a doctrine do so with malice or evil intent. Some are simply unlearned and have not received the key that unlocks this book of the Revelation.

As we continue our study, we will definitively discover those things that will take place after the rapture of the Church.

THE REWARDS OF THE SAINTS

Zechariah 14:9

And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.

Immediately after the War of Armageddon, the Kingdom of Christ is established and the Church rules and reigns with Him.

THE ATTRIBUTES OF THE MILLENNIUM

The verses below describe the condition of the earth at the beginning of the Millennium.

Isaiah 11:4-10

4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.

9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Isaiah 2:2–4

2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

GLOBAL PEACE GLOBAL WORSHIP AND PRAISE

The praise and worship of Christ will be mandatory for all nations.

Psalm 72:7–11&15

7 In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.

8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.

9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.

10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

11 Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him. …

15 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.

Zechariah 14:16-19

16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.

18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

The sons of God will be worshipped in the Millennium.

Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Amos 9:14

And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

Ezekiel 36:33-36

33 Thus saith the Lord God; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.

34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.

35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.

36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the Lord build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the Lord have spoken it, and I will do it.

ONGOING RESTORATION

These Scriptures point to the activities of the remnant of Israel in the Millennium.

Zechariah 14:20-21

20 In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, Holiness Unto The Lord; and the pots in the Lord’s house shall be like the bowls before the altar.

21 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the Lord of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts.

Malachi 3:3-4

3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.

4 Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years.

DIVINE ORDER

THE REMNANT IN THE MILLENNIUM

I want to make a quick distinction here between the remnant of Israel who survive the wrath of God and the role of the Church in the Millennium.

Isaiah 65:17-20

17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

Verse 17 makes mention of the new heavens and the new earth, which will be established in eternity. However, verse 18, by saying “But be ye glad and rejoice…,” refers to what He has already created or accomplished – His cleansing of the heavens and the earth after the War of Armageddon. The reason for this distinction becomes clear as we contrast the difference between the millennial creation and the eternal creation.

Isaiah 65:19-20

19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

This prophecy refers to the Millennium.

Revelation 21:1-4

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

This prophecy refers to eternity.

The highlighted colors in the table above illustrate the distinctions between the Millennial Kingdom and eternity. These differences confirm that the content presented in Isaiah 65 pertains specifically to the Millennium. With that understanding, let us now compare the roles and rewards of Israel and the Church. Israel will be responsible for building their homes and planting their crops.

Isaiah 65:21-23

21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.

22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them.

The Remnant are not born again, they are the natural seed of Abraham; the one who was blessed by God.

Israel will be responsible for building their homes and planting their crops.

Ezekiel 20:40

For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord God, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.

Role And Rewards Of Israel

The sons of God have already inherited mansions and immortality.

John 14:2-3

2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

The sons of God rule and reign over the whole earth.

And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

1 Peter 2:9

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people…

Role And Rewards Of The Sons Of God

AT THE END OF THE MILLENNIUM

At the end of the Millennium, a sequence of events ensues.

Satan is released from the bottomless pit. And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, - Revelation 20:7
Satan deceives the nations to gather them for the final war. And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
The army of Satan lays siege to Jerusalem and is destroyed by God. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

- Revelation 20:9

4. Satan cast into the lake of fire. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. - Revelation 20:10
5. These are then judged at the White Throne Judgement. And

I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. - Revelation 20:11

6. This is followed by the Second Resurrection - The

Resurrection of the Wicked. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. - Revelation 20:12

7. Eternity: new heaven, new earth, New Jerusalem, new beginning. 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. - Revelation 21:1-3

THE PROPHESIES OF EZEKIEL 38 & 39

For the sake of clarity, we must examine the prophecies of Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 and how they relate to the revelations given to John concerning the Battle of Armageddon and the War of Gog and Magog.

There is much confusion surrounding the prophecies of Ezekiel, chapters 38 and 39. The first thing to understand is that these chapters describe two distinct events. Ezekiel 38 refers to the final battle of Gog and Magog, the same conflict John later references in Revelation 20:7-9, which occurs after the Millennium. In contrast, Ezekiel 39 describes the War of Armageddon, in which Gog is one of the key participants before the establishment of Christ’s Millennial Kingdom.

The War of Armageddon: The Great Supper of God

Ezekiel 39:17-20

17 And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord God; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.

18 Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan.

19 And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.

20 Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord God.

Revelation 19:17-18

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

The Final Battle: Gog and Magog Surround Jerusalem Ezekiel 38:18&21-23

18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, that my fury shall come up in my face.

…

21 And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord God: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.

22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord

Revelation 20:7-9

Psalm 72:1-20

1 Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king’s son.

2 He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.

3 The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.

4 He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.

5 They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations. The Scriptures above take us to the time of the Millennial Reign of Christ. One of the things we want to be sure to point out is that this is the time when the sons of God rule the earth along with Christ. The Scripture verses above define some of our responsibilities. We will judge with righteousness and will do justice to the poor. We will also ensure that the people have peace. We will provide for those who are needy and ensure that no one is oppressed.

This is the Millennial Reign – not eternity. We know this because the sun and moon are enduring, whereas in eternity, there is no need for the sun or moon. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof (Revelation 21:23).

6 He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.

7 In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.

The phrase “In his days shall the righteous flourish” alludes to the fact that in the Millennium, the days of mankind are numbered, whereas the sons who rule have already inherited eternal life. “There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.” (Isaiah 65:20).

Just a side bar – Take note of the fact that death will still be reigning in the Millennium since people still die. However, also take note of the fact that from the days of Adam (including Methuselah who lived 969 years), no man has lived past one biblical day (1000 years).

8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.

Again, we see that this is the Millennial Reign and not eternity, because in eternity, there are no seas to separate the continents. “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.” (Revelation 21:1).

9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.

10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

11 Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.

12 For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.

13 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.

14 He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.

15 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.

16 There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.

Isaiah 9:6-7

6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Isaiah 35:1-10

1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.

2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God.

3 Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.

4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
