0:14 Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord everybody. Glory to God. Amen. We are going to do a little disciplehip tonight. Glory to God. Because that's what God commanded. Amen. We we following the example of our savior Jesus Christ. He was a discipler. He spent three and a half years with his disciples sharing with them the mind of God. Amen. And that's what we're going to do. And I want us to start out, glory to God, with with a 0:44 scripture that is uh has been ministered many many times in this particular ministry. I want to say good evening to all of you that are not um part of Bible teachers ministry. Glory to God. Thank you for tuning in. If this is your first time coming to my channel, please feel free to subscribe so you don't miss anything. Praise the Lord. Glory to God. Amen. I have with me tonight uh Brother Chin, Daniel Chin. Glory to God. 1:15 Amen. Working with me tonight. And that's I want you to just kind of relax and if you have questions, Amen. write it down so you don't forget it in case I'm I'm going ahead. Amen. But we are going to open up for questions. Amen. And um if you do, let's let's make sure we have some microphones on the on you know on the floor so that um questions can be heard by those in the in the uh 1:45 online audience. Those of you that are online, if you have any questions tonight, I want you to just put them in the chat box. Glory to God. I'm going to go to a a very familiar scripture, Daniel, that we have ministered many, many times. Philippians the 3 chapter and the 14th verse. Philippians 3:14. We I mean, this scripture has been ministered so many times in Bible teachers, I can't even count the times. Glory to God. But this 2:15 scripture changed our lives. These this particular passage, these passages changed our lives. Let's look at Philippians 3:14. What does it say? It says, "I press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." All right. So, what is that mark? What is that mark? The prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Simply this. I want to be found in him when he comes. Amen. You know, the word of 2:46 God says that that that uh when the Lord comes back, he's bringing the saints that have gone on, he's bringing them back with him. Glory to God. And those who are alive and remain going to be caught up to meet him in the air. I want to be one of those. That's the prize of the high calling. That's when you've actually made it. Glory to God. I don't count myself as has made it until I get there. 3:16 Glory to God. When I get when I'm going up in that rapture. Oh Lord, I made it. Thank you, Jesus. Praise the Lord. Glory to God. And that's when you can say you've made it. Amen. So Paul says, I'm pressing now. I'm pressing toward that. That's what I want more than anything else. And you know, right now, saints, this is a time when you have to be cognizant of the disposition of your soul. Where do you stand 3:46 with God? Where do you stand with God? Now, I'm going to say this, and we can put as much weight on this as we as as as you feel you need to, but often times we tend to try to get this this close relationship, this this tremendous relationship with God without having one with his people. We we we we tend to feel that, you know, I'm a prayer warrior. I pray all the time. I do all the 4:16 right things. I'm loyal to my church, to my pastor. I I do everything that is asked of me. I don't I'm I I don't have any real sin that I'm that I'm doing. But I have a problem with certain people, you know. I have I just have a problem with them. Glory to God. Just got problem with them. Amen. I prefer not to deal with this one or that one or whatever the issues are. Amen. With people. 4:47 And we think that we can have that real uh relationship with God that that that god approved relationship with him or fellowship with him I should say because we we're in relationship we are sons. Amen. So we are in relationship but fellowship is another question. Amen. Am I really in fellowship with God? Amen. And not in fellowship with some of his people. How is that possible when God is one with his people? Hello, God is one with 5:17 us. So, how do we have this this great relationship with God, but we don't really have it with his people? This is a time now to examine yourself to see where you stand inside of that. You we all of us need to just stop. Let's just stop, step back a moment, take a deep breath, and examine ourselves. Forget about other people. It's time to look now at you and where you are. It's time for me to look 5:47 at me and see where I am. Where am I in the faith? Where do I stand in the faith? If I had to stand before the judgment seat of God today, would I make it in this moment? If God required my soul this morning, I remember the the rich man that was, you know, storing up. He was just storing up stuff in in his in his in his barns. Glory to God. And uh just preparing just preparing 6:18 to you know so he didn't have to work anymore and just going to live off the good the good that he've already harvested. Amen. And you know the Lord said you know you're a fool because tonight your soul is required. This night your soul is required. Supposing our soul was required tonight right right now. Would you actually make it in? Are you confident that you would actually make it in? Or or are you that so-called good Christian, 6:48 okay, that you, you know, you did all the right things? You went to church and da da da da, but you had some issues. You had some internal issues. Maybe no one knew. No one else knew but you and God. Amen. But they were still there. They were still there. Secret secret things. Amen. That may not be anybody else's business, but glory to God, they they are God's business, you know. And he said the little foxes spoil 7:18 the vine. Those things that uh Pastor Koko was talking about today, those little foxes. Amen. We call them little foxes. Scripture refers to them as little foxes. And we really minimize them. We make them smaller than they than the big than the Bible does. Amen. And we we make them so small until they become no harm things, right? you know, we there just no harm. You know, God is not judging that intensely. Yes, he is. He's judging 7:49 just that intensely. Why? Because you have a misconception, saints. If you think God is not judging that intensely, because you have a misconception of what salvation really is. Why are we saved? Why Jesus? Why do we have to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior? Why? The scripture says, "As he is, so are we in this world." Now, not in the world to come, but right now, we Christians are supposed to be G as Jesus is. Is 8:19 that right? So, um, for us to imagine or uh, convince ourselves that we can be anything less than what Jesus is and still make it in is just ludicrous. It's stupidity. We cannot be anything less in mindset in disposition than what Jesus is. And we we need to examine that. We need to look at it. We need to see where we fall at inside of that because when we close our eyes on this side, it's too late 8:49 then. There is no doovers. There's no, "Oh, God, I missed it and and have mercy on me." No, there's none of that. There's there's none of that. That doesn't exist. Once we close our eyes on this side, it's over. It's simply over. Glory to God. So, we've got to we've got to look and we've at ourselves and we've got to see where do I stand? Where am I in the faith? Glory to God. Am I at a 9:19 place where I can say that I leave here tonight, I will inherit that prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus. I'll be a part of the body, the ruling body, the ruling body that comes to rule this earth. I'll be a part of that. I will have made it in. There won't be any sin waiting on me at the judgment. I'll be sitting Amen. judging. I won't be judged. The scripture tell us judge ourselves now so 9:50 that we won't be judged. Isn't that what it said? Amen. Pastor Chen, anything? Well, there's something that you said that I I do feel it's worth examining. Mhm. Um it's it's the way we perceive sin. Mhm. Right. There there may be some sometimes and and you let me know if you can relate where you know like for example the question that was asked if you were to die right now right and I'm hoping the automatic thing that 10:20 everyone does is to examine right we think and we examine our hearts we look at our day did I do anything wrong today Jesus you know and we start to think we start to examine but we have to pay attention patention to how we examine ourselves because we can be looking for some things that if we don't find certain things in our life especially maybe some big things that we used to be involved in or some big 10:50 things that we see as big if we don't see those things then we get a sense of being relaxed or you know we give ourel what we call a pass right but there like you were saying that there's just a way we have to see our salvation. Mhm. Right. Because no matter how seemingly big or seemingly small a sin is, the fact is that what sin is to a son of God, sin is a a completely foreign 11:21 entity, right? We were once purged of our old sins. If you were saved, if you received his spirit, you were purged of these things. Mh. And if there is anything big or small, you know, what whatever we call big or small, we have to we have to equalize all of those because we have to see it that we have opened our heart and we have allowed something into our mind, into our heart, into our souls that God 11:51 did not allow and go that God has forbidden. And so what God is looking for even when we think about judgment or when we think about if today's our last day God is coming with the way he is measuring sin is not the way some think he measures sin. He doesn't have a a big list of the big sins and then some that that we'll discuss. You know sometime we can we can think that way as if 12:21 there are some things that I'm not quite sure about in my heart but I'm sure if I'm sure even God understands. We may not say these things because we know better but in our hearts this is how we process some of the things that we face. Some things we justify. Some things we we allow ourselves to feel. For example, um Doc, you were saying that there are it's it's ludicrous. I think you were saying to to think 12:51 that you have a great relationship with God, but not his people, right? But then what if the people are mean, right? What if the people are bad people? What what if those people hit me first? Right. Mhm. Sometimes we can allow ourselves to go into a place of offense, a place of bitterness, a place of meanness and all all these things. But we will mentally give ourself a space to do that because of how we see these 13:22 things, right? And that's the thing that we have to examine. I'm looking in this room and I I don't believe anyone here is involved in the big ones, right? Th those big ones that you may seem as oh that's just unthinkable. But the examination God is requiring of us. Is there anything anything even anything and and the next verse I'm sure you're going there. The next verse says that God is going to reveal these things. Come on 13:52 read. So whatever it is that he's revealing don't don't negotiate. God is looking for a purity in the way that we approach him in the way that we examine ourselves. And and that's what I believe, you know, even with what you just said, God really wants to examine right now, right? I want to look at this 15th verse here. It says, um, "Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded. And if in anything ye 14:22 be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this to you." So if we have any other mind that's not the mind of Christ, God will make sure that we know that. Now what happens then? Because we cannot for the life of us we cannot say that God lies. He does not lie. If his word says it, then he does it. Is that right? So he says that if we have any other mind that's not his mind, then he'll 14:53 reveal it to us. In other words, we know when we are not walking in the mind of God. He will make sure that we know that that little that thing that we just did was just not God. That thought that we thought was just not God. He will make sure we know that. And if he doesn't, it's because you don't belong to him. Hello. That's that there's no other way to say that. If you don't know when 15:23 you do something wrong, then you don't have the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit is a teacher. Glory to God. He will let you know what's righteous and what is not righteous. Are are y'all working with me? Nobody has to tell you now that this is wrong because you'll get a check in your spirit if no one else is around if you never even opened a Bible before. Glory to God. You will know when you sin. The 15:53 Holy Ghost will let you know that that's not God. Amen. Now, that's something that God said in his word that if you have any other mind other than the mind of Christ, he will reveal it to you. Now, what I want to really get into tonight, Daniel, I want I want to talk about the one of the things that really do the most to hinder us uh from actually walking in that. We started this today in uh 16:23 noonday prayer and I want to kind of continue along those veins because God is is is saying this to us. Amen. And it's it's it's it's going to be very fruitful that we adhere to what he's actually saying. I want us to look at something that takes that takes place in all of our lives. Amen. All of our lives. There's a scripture that just came to mind. Uh those who will live godly will suffer what? Persecution. Can 16:54 you find that scripture for us, please? It's in 2 Timothy 3:12. Okay, let's read it. It says, "Yay, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." All that will live godly in who? In Christ Jesus. In Christ Jesus. You talking about those of us who are born again shall suffer persecution. Okay. So what is persecution? It's adversity, isn't it? It's adversity. It's when people do whatever they can to offend us, right? They lay 17:24 off fences. Glory to God. Let's look at St. Luke 17 and1. I believe 17 and1. I think that's where where I want to go. Okay. Now, let's keep in mind let's keep in mind what he what we just read that those who will live godly will suffer. How do you you think about that? You're living godly. You're living holy, but God say you're going to be persecuted. You're going to suffer. Things are going to come up against 17:54 you. Glory to God. And some and in some instances, there are saints that have lost their lives because of their of their godliness. They they were moderate. Amen. Glory to God. And that's not off limits for us. We tend to think that that was that was the early church and that that just couldn't happen today. Yes, it's it's already happening today. Praise the Lord. Let's look at let's look at St. Luke 17 and1. Then said he unto 18:25 the disciples. It is impossible but that offenses will come. Mhm. But woe unto him through whom they come. Mhm. It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck and he cast into the sea than that he should offend one of these little ones. Okay. So offenses will come. Is that what he said? It is impossible for them not to come. Why? Because we are in Christ Jesus and we are in this world. We're 18:55 not of it, but we're in it. And who's the god of this world? Satan is the god of this world. So it's it's impossible for us to live in this environment that is that has a god named Satan who is God God's supreme adversary. Glory to God. And we not be subject to that adversity. He hates God. So therefore he hates God's people. So we are going to be persecuted. Now we the the problem comes when we 19:25 now know the persecutors in the flesh, right? We when we when we we know who they are, glory to God. Sometimes they're in, you know, there may be family members. They they they may be friends or people that you thought were friends or relatives or uh uh uh sisters and brothers in the church or whatever. Glory to God. Sometimes Satan uses them to bring adversity. Glory to God. And what I want to talk about tonight is these 19:55 this adversity and this these great offenses that God say will come. Now, if God say they will come, that it's impossible to live here without offenses, then we we just got to get ourselves ready for that, right? We just have to be prepared when they come. Praise the Lord. And and some of us have already experienced them and will experience them till Jesus come. But I want you to read this third verse. This is this is a 20:26 verse that you know we want to we want to we want to uh focus on the second verse. Oh, it's better to have a millstone tied around your neck than to offend me cuz I'm God's least one. Glory to God. We want to focus right there. But God is looking h how at how we deal with the offense when they come. He's looking at He said they're coming, right? He said they're coming. They are sure to come. 20:56 It's impossible that they do not come. This is it's an impossibility for us to live here without Satan bringing offenses. And doesn't matter who he uses, he they're coming. Glory to God. But now God gives us a methodology. He gives us a commandment as to how we're to deal with those offenses. What is what the third verse say? Take heed to yourselves. Now, he said, "Be careful here." That's what he's saying. Be careful. Take heed. I want 21:26 you to look at this. Uh-huh. If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him. Rebuke him. And if he repents, forgive him. Forgive him. Okay. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day. Now see, watch this. That first one, if he sin against, if he sins against you, rebuke him. And if he repents, forgive him. And and and some people start with the if now. If he doesn't repent, I don't have to forgive him because 21:57 the scriptures say if he repents, right? Well, God knew that mindset was coming up that he he knew that. Glory to God. So, he he wrote the fourth verse. What the fourth verse says? And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, seven times in one 22:18 day, he does something to offend you. Seven times in a day. Glory to God. He didn't repent. Apparently, he didn't repent because he kept doing the same thing. He kept doing the same thing. Right? So what does it say? Do and seven times in a day turn again to thee saying I repent thou shalt forgive him. Oh my goodness. Thou shalt forgive him. If he does it seven 22:48 times in one day. Now now how what was the response of the the apostles to that? Lord increase our faith. I said, "Lord, you got to do something here." Glory to God. I don't know if I can do that. I I just don't know. Glory to God. If if if I can do that. Glory to God. Amen. Um uh we are unprofitable servants, guys. And God has commanded 23:19 us. We don't get a we don't get a say so or we don't get an option as to whether we going to do that or not. We either going to do it or we going to be lost. Simple as that. If you offend me, there are people that get offended by folks and don't deal with them anymore. Or they deal with them with a longheld spoon. I'll speak 23:49 to you. I'm I'm cordial, but I don't I don't deal with you anymore. and they and they tell themselves, I I I've forgiven. I don't I don't have anything in my heart against that person. Then why can't you treat them the way you did before the offense? If you don't have anything in your heart, how come you can't meet them with the same love, the same warmth, the 24:19 same trust h that you did before the offense because there's something there. There's something there. And we need to stop lying to ourselves about those issues. Amen. There's something there that that that pricked that heart that there's a prick in that heart and and it's still there. This soreness is still there. When you think of that person, when you think of trusting that person, think of letting that 24:50 person get close to you again. Uh-uh. No. There there's something there. No, no, no. I can't I can't be as vulnerable as I was. you know, God give us all sense now. God doesn't raise fools. That's what we tell ourselves, you know, and so we have this we we we go into protection mode. We protect our heart from being affected by those people. Now, let us let us 25:20 deal with this seven times a day thing. And in one scripture he says if if if if he send 70* 7. Is that scripture? Can you find that scripture? Let's see so we can put it on record here. Glory to God. Because we need to know before we leave tonight. We need to know how to turn adversity around. How do I turn this around? How do how do 25:51 I make this Amen. bring this to my benefit? How does I how do I make it work for me? Glory to God. Matthew 18:21 18 and 21. What does it say? Then came Peter to him and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Till seven times, Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee until seven times, but until 70* 7. 26:21 How many times is that? That's 490 times a day. 490 times a day. In one day, this person can sin against me 490 times and I forgive them. What is God saying here? There's not a moment in time where you are not expected to forgive. There's not a moment. There's not a moment where you are not expected to forgive. Okay? So, let's just rule out unforgiveness. Unforgiveness should 26:51 not be a part of the body of Christ. We're supposed to love everyone. Now, what I want what I want to to to do is I want you to look at some reality. I want you to look at reality. The offenses are going to come and most of us in here can actually think on the people in our lives that are adverse in some way to us or 27:22 or what we're trying to accomplish. Either they're adverse to us or they're adverse to some of the things that we're trying to do. Can you can you think of anyone in your life that is adverse, not in agreement, maybe even working against what you're trying to do? Maybe an offender, a real offender, someone that really doesn't care anything about you, doesn't care how they hurt you. Can you 27:52 think of people like that? Have you ever had someone in your life like that? Those of you online, I want you to consider what I'm saying. Have you ever had anyone in your life that is that has been an offense to you or is an offense? And it and sometimes we don't have to look that far. We can look in our own families, some of us, and can 28:23 see offenders, people that offend us, people that are adverse to us, people that are work that that the enemy is using against us. Do I have any anyone that can think on that that can see, you know, adversity and the people that it's coming through? It's not always strangers. It's not always strangers. Now, there's a saying in the world that things hurt more when they come when offense 28:53 come from someone you love. They said it it hurts even more when it's when it's someone you love. I I believe this. It should hurt less. If you love the person, it should hurt a whole lot less. Glory to God. Amen. Because love love has a multitude of of faults and sins. G it covers. Amen. Glory to God. How many times Well, some of you Hey, Glory to 29:23 God. Oh, glory to God. Have you ever been offended? Those of you that have children, been offended by your children. Oh, now don't make DJ in offense. Glory to God. Glory to God. Amen. Let's make sure DJ does Let's edit this tape before he gets old enough to to understand it. Glory to God. Amen. But sometimes, you know, you may have adult children that that offend you. Does 29:54 that stop you from loving them? It doesn't, does it? It doesn't stop you from loving them. Doesn't stop you from worrying about them. What? You know, make you want them. You don't want anything bad to happen to them. Even though they've been the worst kid on the block, you still don't don't want anything negative to happen to your child. That's your baby. No matter what, they can be 30:24 Amen. Jeffrey Don Dmer. Glory to God. Do you still love them? Amen. That's your child. Amen. Praise the Lord. And God is saying that same that same spirit, you should have that toward everyone. No matter whether they're your worst enemy, they don't have to be a relative. Don't have to be your child. They just have to be a person whom you were sent to reveal Christ to our 30:55 responsibility. That's how we're to respond to offenses. How do I turn it around, though? How do I um I and and let's let's let's go here. Let's go past people being the offense and let's go to situations being being offense. Situations um circumstances of our lives, offensive circumstances. I'm in a situation where I can't do what I really want to do. don't I I I there's no particular 31:25 person I can blame for it. It's just I'm just in a situations and and uh I can't I can't move. I can't do what I what I really want to do. How many can identify with that? I've been there, done that where I just I couldn't go forward, couldn't go backwards, couldn't go no way. Couldn't turn to the right or the left. Just stuck. Anybody been stuck? Glor 31:55 glory to God. Amen. Well, what about those? What about just let's look at people? Okay, we just talked about people and we'll we'll do some more, but what about circumstances, situations h that just will not allow you to to do what you want to do? How do I turn it around? How do I turn it around when it's people? How do I turn it around when it's just 32:26 circumstances of my life? How do I turn it around? Now, I I I I let me let me tell you what the Lord showed me. The deception where the deception lies. The deception lies in the fact that I'm a good person. I'm a saint. I am a saint. I go to church all the time. I don't slack off. I am loyal. I pray probably more than anyone in 32:56 the church. I know I have a relationship with 33:02 God. So then why adversity? Why can't these things be turned around? Why am I experiencing so much 33:24 adversity? There are two. There's Well, let there more than two, but let me give you one right off the top. He told you offenses were coming, right? Okay. Why would God who claims to be the God of the entire universe, he he is the God that Satan has to deal with? Amen. Satan can't do anything except God allow him. We learned that with Job, right? Glory to God. So why would our 33:54 God who says that he is a great father allow the enemy to to to bring such adversity in our lives in the first place? I mean, we as parents, think about it now. We as parents, we do everything we can to keep adversity out of our child's life. Isn't that right? We do we do every we we don't want our children to experience some of the things we experience. We try to 34:24 teach them differently and we do what we can to protect them from having to experience negativity, adversity. We do all we can to make sure that they they don't I don't want my child going through what I went through. Glory to God. Well, there are some things you're not going to be able to change. Some things you're not going to be able to stop your child from going through. Glory to God. 34:54 Amen. Especially if you're a saint. Glory to God. Are you working with me? Amen. Well, there are some things that you are not going to be able to stop yourself from going through because there are some things that God is going to allow for your making. Adversity helps to make us. Trials come to make us to test us to try the uh Peter said it. Amen. He said, "The trying of our 35:24 faith is more precious than gold." The trying of our faith. Glory to God. And see, we have some theologians that says, "Oh, God doesn't want us to suffer. God would never try his people." No, he let the devil do it. He let he he let Satan do it. He let Satan and all his people do it. Glory to God. But ultimately it's God himself. In Philippians also um Paul said and um 35:54 he said that they were shamefully mistreated. I think this is the first chapter of Philippians. Amen. Go there. He says they were shamefully mistreated. Let's read that because some people don't believe that God is the author of some of these trials that we go through. We don't believe that God has anything to do with it. Glory to God. Amen. Find it. What does it say? It's in First Thessalonians 2. First Thessalonians. 36:24 Yeah, it sure is. We're way off. Okay, I'm way off. Says, "For yourselves, brethren, know or entrance in onto you that it was not in vain. But even after that, we had suffered before and were shamefully entreated as you know at Philippi. Yeah, that's that's why I thought it was Philippians cuz they were at Philippi when when it happened to them. Okay. We were bold in our God to speak unto you 36:54 the gospel of God with much contention. First Thessalonians what? 2 verse one. 37:01 Now watch this. Now we even after we had suffered before and were shamefully intreated at Philippi, we were still bold to speak. My God, these people going to preach the gospel. Why would God allow them to be shamefully treated, beaten? You know, a lot of people don't realize this, but but Paul was actually uh nearly killed at at Ephesus. Amen. He said he was taken out of the mouth of 37:31 the lion in Ephesus. Glory to God. That why would God allow them to go through all of this adversity when he could stop it? He's the father. He's the He's the God of all creation. There's no one that has has any ability greater than that of God. So why would he allow this kind of adversity? Why would he allow his people to actually um suffer such humiliation? Why does God 38:01 allow you to be humiliated? Especially when you're doing everything right. Your motives are right. These people motives were right. See, sometimes we uh this is the point I'm trying to make here. Sometimes we chide inside of our adversities and our our offenses because we feel I didn't do anything wrong in that. I didn't do anything wrong in that situation. Glory to God. And we're looking at that situation. But God 38:31 is God is beyond that situation. Can you say you haven't done anything wrong? Period. as these people these people could say Paul Paul and Barnabas and the you know these guys that were working with him they could say they were holy. They were holy and their only their their only objective was to preach the gospel. They loved everybody. They put their lives on the line over and over and over 39:01 again. Even after they were beaten, he says we we were bold to still speak the gospel of God even after we were shamefully and I might add brutally intreated at Philippi. They continued to minister the gospel. So these guys could stand before God and say we were holy. We we didn't do anything wrong. Glory to God. But what we're doing in our little situations, glory to God, we get into 39:31 we get into adversity with someone and we'll look at that little that advers that little adverse that's a moment. That's just a moment in our life that we can look at and say, "But I was right in that. I I didn't deserve that. I didn't deserve Well, what about these people?" They lived holy every day. Not just in a in one situation. They lived holy every day, every hour of 40:01 the day. They put their lives on the line. Glory to God. To to to to try to bring Christ to a people that were trying to kill them. Glory to God. And so they not they not murmuring because they were righteous. Glory to God. We're murmuring because we were righteous in one little situation. We're looking at the adversity of this situation and adversity of that situation. And we're looking saying, 40:32 "But I wasn't wrong in that." And I wasn't wrong in that right there. But glory to God, what about your life? Why? Why? What is God trying to do? He's doing what he said he was going to do in Philippians. He said if you have any other mind, he would reveal it to you. So, how do I turn it around? Because many of these many of these things are not 41:02 coming amen to uh as a trying of our faith. Some of these things are coming so that we can see what mind we are in. We can see that the that my mind is not the mind of God. Even the way I feel about my offender, the way I feel about this this adversity, this adverse situation, it doesn't even have to be a person, just an adverse situation that I'm 41:32 in. How do I really feel about it? Knowing that God is the author and the finisher of my faith. He is in charge of my life. Wherever I am, God has allowed me to be there. Glory to God. If I can't move, it's because he's not allowing me to move. If I'm not moving forward, glory to God, is because God is not allowing it. I already know that. So, why 42:02 am I so adverse? Why do I have such adversity in my heart about where I am? How do I turn that around? If God now is is allowing these things to reveal as he said he would that I don't have the mind of Christ. I don't operate in the mind of Christ. How do I turn that around? How do I stop that? How do I turn it around? How do 42:32 I turn these adverse situations around? How do I turn these offensive things that people doing? Glory to God. How do I turn it around? How do I make it work for me instead of against me? There's a scripture I want you to look it up. It it it was originally uh stated in the Old Covenant where Samuel was talking about obedience. Can you find that scripture for me, please? See, 43:02 this is the issue that God is trying to get us to embrace. When we look at our circumstances and our situations, the adversity in our lives, God is saying, "I want you to see you don't have my mind or you have it because I gave it to you and you're rejecting it. You refuse to walk in the mind of Christ. Simply refuse. Not that you can't, but you simply refuse 43:32 to. Watch this. 1st Samuel 15:22. And Samuel said to Saul, "Hath the Lord as great Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. And and to hearken what? Than the fat of rams. God is saying obedience is greater than sacrifice. It's better than sacrifice. So 44:03 here we go back to that person. I'm a good person. I pray all the time. I give God the sacrifice of praise. I'm always at noonday prayer. I pray in the morning. I pray in the evening. I do all the things that, you know, they say I'm supposed to do as a Christian. But there's somewhere where I'm not walking in obedience, in my heart, in my mindset, in my thinking. 44:33 in my thinking. I'm I I am not walking in this word, what this word demands. Just not walking in it. I there's I I 44:44 I can't bring myself to forgive someone 490 times a day. Not even seven times a day. I can't do it. I simply can't do it. I can't do that. I can't I can't deal with an offender without that offender feeling my wrath. They have to feel my wrath. I can't withhold my wrath and just let the love of God come 45:14 forth in the midst of an offense. I just cannot do it. can't do it. No, that's not true. The truth is I won't do it. I refuse to do it. I refuse to do what God has said. I remember God told me one day to hold my peace and I held it. I thought I held it. I didn't say anything, 45:45 but my heart was raging. And when I got home, I was I was pacing up and down. I was so mad. I was sweating. Bullets coming off. Amen. And God spoke to me just as plain as day. He says, "So you're angry because you obeyed me. You're angry because you obeyed me." Some of us cannot simply oy God. You'll never 46:15 turn your adversity around. Never. And when God is allowing adversity in your life because you have a wrong mindset, it will remain until the mindset change. Hello. when he is allowing adversity in your life. Because with adversity, when you're walking outside of the boundaries of the faith, with adversity comes strife in you. You begin to strive. And God is saying, 46:45 you will experience that adversity until that mindset changes. I am not going to stop, says God. I can outlast you. I can outlast you. You will all You will spend you will spend the rest of your life striving for everything that you're trying to accomplish. You will have to strive. You will strive. You will strive. And you will never be 47:15 happy. Do you know the scriptures tell us the blessings of the Lord don't come with what? Sorrow. They don't come with strife and sorrow. They don't. So if if I'm experiencing that, if I'm experiencing that that oh my god, all all this adversity, all this adversity, how do I turn it around? Obedience. That's it. No magic formula, no deep revelation, 47:46 just simple obedience to God. Okay. Well, but you you just don't understand. And and and some sometimes these things just just prick the heart. So, you know, and and you just don't when people do things and and it just hurt and and glory to God. And let me show you how backwards we are sometimes. Remember remember what we said about 48:16 um the world says, "Oh Lord, this offense is really really bad because it come from someone I love. 48:27 It hurts so 48:31 bad. That just that doesn't compute with the scriptures. Love is a 48:43 comforter. So if I'm hurting so badly, I Let me tell you something, saints. Let me go back again now. It doesn't matter. I have two daughters. It doesn't matter what one of them does. Doesn't matter what they do. There is nothing that any one of my children can do that will stop me from loving them. It doesn't matter what they do to me. It's 49:13 not going to change my love for them. Are you hearing that? Come on. Are we have any mothers in here? Hello mama. It doesn't matter what our ch our children do to us. It doesn't matter. That love is going to be there. That's that's your child. Now, how is that possible? How can I love like that and I can have a sister, a brother 49:44 or a spouse, a relative that can hurt me and I can't love them like that. You know why? Choice. Choose not to. I choose not to. Come on. Love is love is not with respect to person. Not love not real love. I have to turn it off. I have to choose to carry that offense. I have to choose to carry the weight of it 50:14 rather than love and be comforted by my the love that I have for the individual. Glory to God. That's more powerful. And someone needs to experience that. The church needs to experience that kind of love. The church needs to experience the realness of their salvation. What is God saying? Oh, I don't know how to walk in that, Doc. That you just you just that 50:44 just sounds so, you know, that maybe I'm not spiritual enough. That's baloney. You know what love God is talking about? Why God can say, he can look at us eyeball to eyeball and say, "Forgive your offender 490 times a day." How can he look at us eyeball eyeball and say that? Because he knows the power of love. He knows the power of love. Well, 51:14 where does it come from? How do I get that kind of love? How do I Maybe I just need to grow into that. No, that's your nature. Walk in your nature. Walk in who you are. Walk in what you are. Stop denying Christ. Let us not deny Christ. We get, you know what we get? We get, you know, they we always accuse men of 51:44 this, but women do the same thing. They say men have egos. Women do, too. I don't know if we call it a ego. I don't know. Maybe they have some other scientific name for it, but it's the same thing. Amen. There's times when we just simply refuse. I just I just refuse to be vulnerable. I refuse. I was not wrong. I was not wrong. 52:14 Well, God said, "Right now, you are. You're looking at a little situation. You're looking at a moment in time, but I'm looking at your whole life. You don't have my mind because You didn't just lose my mind in that situation. You don't walk in my mind. Come on. We act as if we we lost the mind of God when we got to that situation. 52:44 No, you just don't walk in that mind. Cuz if you walk in the mind of Christ, you'd have walked into the situation with that mind. Are you are you understanding me? Am I making sense? Glory to God. Amen. So what is it? What is it that we do can do to turn it around? Simple. Obey. How do I obey? Walk in your nature. Walk 53:15 in what you are. It is powerful. Glory to God. Am I making sense? Glory to God. I can be angry with you because you you just you know I get angry when I I I get angry quick when 54:15 I know you know better. Why are you doing this? You know I can get very very angry. But I in times past I would get angry and the way I would express that anger is what bring about the sin. See, I don't there's there is there is never a moment let me this this is this is a deception that the enemy that the enemy 54:45 has trained the church in or just trained people in general 54:51 in God does not operate on the premise that uh like we do like with Okay. If if the if if a child does something wrong, right, your your kid, your little kid does something wrong and you now tell them over and over again, stop doing that. Don't do that. At some point, you're going to you're going to pawpow. That's what you call pawpow. And um so you you you what 55:21 are you doing? Why do you pow? You're inflicting pain. Right? You in you you want to inflict pain so that that child now knows the a consequence, right? That child knows there's a consequence to um disobeying me, right? Okay. Now, what God did for he told us that that if we if we didn't do that with our children, he says we we actually hate the child because we're allowing the 55:51 child to just raise themselves, you know. Um but now he didn't tell us to do that with each other with with adults. We we raise we we raise children. We don't raise adults. Okay? And there is never a point in time where God is okay with one of us inflicting pain on the other. Now you show me in scripture. Show me in scripture where it's okay for me to inflict 56:21 pain on you as a matter of getting you to do what? to to to understand my anger. I'm angry. So now I'm going to inflict pain. Right now, this is something that that God shared this with me years ago. Years ago. See, God is is who he is, and he's always going to be who he is, and he's not going to change. We have to come to where God is. 56:52 God is not coming down to where we are. We got to come to where God is. And so uh I was in a let me let me let me let me give you this as an example of what I'm talking about. Okay. I was in a situation once where um uh someone had confided in me. They you know they had said a lot of things about about someone to me 57:22 right. Um and um this was years ago. These people are uh you know praise the Lord. They're They're gone. Amen. They're not, you know, glory to God. They're not just not They're just not. Okay. But this this person I I knew some things about this person really. And this this this this person had confided and told me some things about this person. Um but in confidence, right? And so there 57:52 came a time like couple of years later where there was an altercation. There was an alter or a confrontation I should say. It wasn't really an altercation but a confrontation between me and the the person that had spoken to me in confidence and the and the person because the person was the spouse, right? her her spouse and in that and I'm listening I'm sitting there and she is really lying 58:22 just lying just continue just lying lying lying lying lying and I'm si I'm sitting there listen in amazement you know I I just get amazed when I just hear people just make up lies you know just when you know that they're lying and you you know I'm just I'm just amazed I I don't get all crazy. I'm just amazed like, wow, that that took a lot, you know? So, I'm 58:52 sitting there listening and to all of these lies and lies, lies, lies. And I heard the devil, nobody but the devil said, "Now, you know, you could say, all you got to do is say what they told you. You could stop this right now. And it would have hurt. It would have pierced through all. If id have just disclosed what had been said to me, what she had said to 59:22 me, glory to God, it would have probably destroyed their their marriage. It would have it would have just it would have just fled her and him. All I had to do is just open my mouth and say it. And I'm sitting there like, "Devil, you are a liar. I don't care what she say, what lies does she say about me. I can handle that. I can handle that. There's no 59:52 way you're going to bring me to that level. I don't have the right to inflict pain on my adversary. When do when does God give me the right to inflict pain of any sort? Of any sort? When does he when does he tell me, "Okay, uh, you can be harmless as a dove until until this thing gets so bad, you know, when this thing gets so bad." Now, when these 60:22 people do you when they do you in, they do, you know, they just do you in, it gets that bad, now you can inflict some pain. I I've been in so many situations. I was like that in in in church and I and the devil told me say just open your mouth and tell the truth. Just open your mouth and tell the truth and it will I said you're a 60:52 liar. I am not going to do it because it will hurt too many people. I'm not going to do it. It will just hurt if I tell the truth about these people. It will hurt too many people. I refuse to do that. And why? Because there's never a moment in my life where I am given no matter how angry and I'm I'm sitting there listening to people saying, you know, 61:22 Doc did this and doc did that and she did this and she did. None of this stuff is true. These are just just, you know, things that people made up to try to, you know, make themselves look good or whatever. Glory to God. And and these people were believing it. You know, the people were believing all of this stuff. And I said, you know what? I learned something from from 61:52 Bishop R. Griset years ago. He taught me a principle. That's brings me to my last point. He taught me to a principle. Excuse me. He says a lie will come to not. It's the truth that will stand. You don't have to worry about a lie. it's it's going to fizzle out, but the truth will stand. And so I I I I I He taught me that when I was a 62:22 babe in Christ, and I never forgot it. And so in my in those times when I had the I had all of this stuff in me that I could have said the when I could have retaliated, glory to God, and and gotten revenge or whatever you want to call it. Amen. When I could inflict pain, glory to God, I I had to think about that. I said, "Oh no, this 62:52 lie. I can bear this. It will come to no. Let him lie." Glory to God. It's okay. Amen. God, this is another principle. You must live by principle. When you walk in the nature of God, you live according to God's principle. There's another principle here. God vindicates righteousness. He vindicates righteousness. There's never a time when you can be righteous and God does not prove your righteousness. Never. But you got 63:22 to let him do it. You you can't you you you can't be anxious about that. You just do what is holy and know that God's going to work it out. God, long as long as I know my hands are clean, no matter what you say to me, curse me out, yell, scream, jump up and down, do some flips, doesn't matter. Strike me if you want to. You're not going to 63:52 change me. You're not going to change me. You're not going to change what I am, who I am, what I'm committed to. You're not going to take my resolve. You're not going to take away my peace. You're not going to make me deny the comfort of Jesus Christ. You're not going to cause me to deny him, put him to an open shame because of what you do to me. You 64:22 are dealing with flesh. You haven't touched my spirit. You think you've touched my spirit. You have not touched my spirit. You think you have an advantage over this flesh, but I I rule my flesh. You're not going to make my flesh respond. Are you hearing me? What are you going to say that makes me say something that dishonors Christ? What are you going to say or do that makes me 64:52 inflict pain on you? I am under a commandment. Be harmless as a dove. That's the commandment I live by. It didn't tell me I'm harmless as a dove. As long as you're not pushing the issue now, don't push me across the line. What line? Where is it? Where where's the line? I don't see a line. God didn't show me He didn't show me a line. I don't see one in 65:22 scripture. Where's that line? See, so what am I? Am I harmless? Am I going to be harmless as a dove? Or do I now allow you to dictate? Huh? Whether I'm going to walk in my own nature? You You're not going to force me out of my walking in my nature. My nature is love. I want I want to remain there no matter what. I don't I don't find a 65:52 line in the sand. You're not gonna make me do what? What are you gonna make me do? Dishonor Christ, you're gonna make me deny him? No. No. And when you are able, when someone is able to cause you to deny Christ, you're not established in the faith. You're not established in the faith. Did not the scripture say we must be established? That God will establish us in the faith. And 66:22 if God has not established you in the faith, it's because you're offering him resistance. You are resisting that establishment. If you stop resisting, make yourself vulnerable. And this is something we don't want to do. We don't want to be vulnerable. Oh, vulnerability. Women, we just as bad as the men. Don't want to be vulnerable. We got ego. We got pride. Oh, I'm right. I'm right. And you're wrong. And this 66:52 and that, and this one's right, and that one's wrong, and and they should have done this to me, and that one shouldn't have done that to me, and da da da da da. Glory to God. But that's a Does that matter to God? What God is looking at is who's walking in my principle. I shared this with four men one time, four pastors. They said they were apostles. I said 67:22 this. I said, 'You guys are fighting me so hard. You're fighting me in in the Bahamas. You're fighting me in Jamaica. You're fighting me in Canada. You're fighting me in Trinidad. You're fighting you you you you you're you you're you you're you're determined that I'm not going to you know, you're not coming into these nations. You're not coming into these nations. We are the gatekeepers. And I said, you guys 67:52 are fighting so bad, so hard. you're send you're sending out, you know, letters on me to to people all over the islands and stuff like that. I said, "But you miss something. You miss the most important thing. Glory to God. The devil will not let you see. I don't fight back. I don't fight back." 68:19 And out of the those four, three are already gone. And Bible teaches in every one of those 68:31 nations. Powerfully in those nations. Glory to God. And the nation where they fought me the hardest. Glory to God. Not just one church, five. Glory to God. So why? Because I walk in my nature. And I'm not going to let what you circulate about me, what you say about me, and this one say about me and all of that, those are lies. They will come to know God will vindicate righteousness if I can just remain 69:01 righteous. I just need to remain righteous. I didn't need to get out. I I don't need I don't need someone in my ear saying, "Well, you know, yeah, that's right. They should have done that to you, Doc. Yeah, and you know, you can do this and you can do No, I don't need to hear that. I need you to just counsel me. What does the word say? What does the principle of God say? Hold your 69:31 peace and I'll do what? Fight the battle. Hold your peace and let God fight the battle. We don't want to do that. That's too simple. We don't think there's any power in that. But that's where the power lies. It lies in obedience. God said that's better than any sacrifice you can make. Because what God is saying to us about that, I don't care what you do, how how much you pray. I don't care what you 70:02 what you give up and all of that. If you don't give me obedience, I don't care about all that other stuff. I don't care what you do. I don't care what you how how you work ministry. You can stay up all night, day after day, day after day. But if you don't give me obedience. Lastly, this is this is another trick of the enemy. This is why you can't turn your adversity around. You can't turn 70:32 this thing around. We are so big on how folks speak to us. Oh, it's like, oh man, people commit the cardinal sin if they don't tell us what God's saying in a spirit of ultimate meekness. Of course, they should. We should speak to one another with meekness. But supposing we don't. Supposing supposing someone, you know, supposing you're at at arms with with your with your child, your your adult child, and that child is is is 71:02 bold enough to be so disrespectful, even cursing you out, using profanity, even just that that disrespectful, but telling you about you. This is what you do. this is how you do it and blah blah blah blah blah. Well, you you know where you got to go with that. They cursing you out. Now, the scripture already said they in trouble cuz it said unto your mother and your father, right? So, you already know they in trouble, 71:32 right? But you are too. If you cannot hear what they're saying, if you're more focused on how they're saying it, oh, you don't hear me. Come on. If your focus is on how they said it and the fact that you know you you you know this this is my child. I brought you into this world and and you're going to disrespect me like that and d you that's what you're looking at and you you're going 72:03 to look at that and you're going to hang your hat there, but you're not going to you're not going to even consider what they're saying is the truth. They may be cursing you out when they're seeing it, but is it truth? Because it doesn't matter what disposition that truth comes in or who that truth comes through, it's still God. Truth is God. Truth is God speaking to you. Even if a drunk man says it, it's 72:33 still God. If a crack addict says it, it's still God. If an angry relative says it, it's still God truth. And so what we'll do is we'll focus on, oh, how you how you know they spoke to me like this and and they spoke to me like that and d and and they didn't have that wasn't right and this and that. But wait, okay. Okay. Let's go with all of that. Okay. Let's let's let's go 73:03 through the weeds now. Let's get rid of all that. Yeah, they was wrong. They matter might have been out of character. Okay. But what about what they said? Was that the truth? Was it true? What are you going to do about that? What are you going to do about the truth that God just spoke to you through someone that you feel should not have spoken to you that way? What are you going to do about 73:34 that truth? Cuz that doesn't change the truth. Now, the vessel doesn't change the truth. Come on. Are y'all Are you hearing me? Doesn't change the truth. Is it the truth? And now, what is God judging in that? God judging real E. Real humility. Not convening the moment, but real humility. You see, um I don't know one I Mike talked about this some time ago. He always he always tells this story. I I vaguely remember kind 74:04 of kind of remember we we were he was so angry about something years and years and years ago. He was so angry. He was so angry. Glory to God. And he and he he his testimony was that that we were counseling him and he was so mad because Mike don't like them counseling session with more than one person in there. Glory to God. And so he you know which I understand that now. Glory to God. 74:34 But he was so angry and he said I said something to him that he knew was God and that just stopped him right in his tracks. It just stopped him right in his track. That's what that's what God looking for. God looking for a David. God looking for a David that forget about the fact that he's the king on the throne. You You're nothing. God is the king. God want us to stop in our tracks 75:05 when we hear the truth. No matter how it's coming, it may be coming in an environment I hate. But did God just step into the environment? Did God just step into the conversation? Did God step into the confrontation? Did he come in with truth? you because he didn't come in riding on a on a donkey. He didn't come in lowly and meek and humble. He might have come in very angry like Jesus was in the 75:35 temple might have been very angry with harsh words, but was it God? Was it now the the words that came forth? Were they the righteousness of God? Did they were those words if those same words had been spoken out of the mouth of a seasoned veteran humble servant of the Lord? Would you have been able to receive it? But because it didn't come the way that you feel it should have come, you can't receive truth, 76:05 baby. It doesn't matter who it is. When I hear the truth, I don't care you. Glory to God. We can be angry. We can we we can be ready at fist to cuffs. But when I hear the truth, my I take off my gloves. I'm I'm I'm not fighting that. Not fighting. I'm not fighting truth. You can't fight truth and win. You can't fight truth and win. So, we got to we got to stop dealing 76:36 with, oh, how you know they, you know, they weren't in the right character. this in a lot of counseling sessions across the ministry. That's where people had their hat. They hang their head on. Well, the way they spoke to me wasn't right and they weren't in the right character. They didn't go all the way down. Da da da da. Glory to God. But was it the 77:04 truth? Was it the truth? That's what we have to deal with. And God is look looking and watching now because when God see what we think this is another deception. We think because that truth didn't come the way we feel that biblically, you know, it's supposed to be come with humility and and meekness and and all of that. That's how it's supposed to come. But it didn't. But it came. The truth came. Now, 77:34 where God is, let me show you where God is. God is watching you from that moment on. He's watching to see what are you going to do with that, deal with that truth. Are you waiting for someone to come along and say the same thing in a spirit of meekness and humility before you obey? Huh? Do does God now you telling God before I obey this truth, I got to hear from someone that 78:04 speaks to me calmly and and and meek and mild and gentle before I obey it. Don't play God like that. That's the wrong card to play. Don't do that. God is judging how we deal with truth. He said, "The day you hear my voice, don't harden your heart." He didn't say how you heard his voice or who you heard it from or what disposition they were in when they gave it to you. He 78:34 says, "The day you hear the truth, don't harden your heart against it." And I said today that when you ignore the truth that God is giving you, you're hardening your heart against it. And you're telling God, I I'll obey when you send it to me the right way. That's what you're saying. When you send me that same truth through someone else that you know, talk to me differently, then I'll obey it. Don't chide 79:04 with God like that. You can't. You never win. You will not win. That's number one. But sometimes our trials are so that 84:28 those people that are watching can know the power of faith. Amen. because we are the example. Remember, we're an example. So, yes, adversity. There can be situations of adversity that God will put you through. Glory to God. That Yeah, he put you through that not because you were uh wrong, not because you were unrighteous, but because you are an example and you don't 84:58 know who's watching you, who's watching. God has set you up there just like he did Job. set you out there. Amen. As a gazing stop for for for people to look at to see that this is how you deal with adversity. Yes, ma'am. 85:20 I just wanted to share my uh testimony if I may. Okay. Um concerning adult children. Uhhuh. Some of you know that I have been going through Is this going in and out? Okay, it's better now. Okay. I have been going through, of course, with my young adult child and it's been very difficult. Um, a couple of years back I had a situation. It was kind of the same situation and I did not pass the test. I did not I completely God said leave it alone. I 85:50 decided because I didn't want them to um pretty much be gloating around and doing other things and being disrespectful. I decided that I was going to act. And when I did, it just became chaotic. And and I said at that point, you know, once everything was over with, you know, I just asked God to help me to do it better the next time. And lo and behold, there was a next time. There was a next time. But this time, to be honest, I didn't want to 86:21 do anything back. Now, at first it was kind of I was kind of like this is not right. This is disrespectful and I'm not going to put up with it, you know. And one minute I was tit for tatty, you know. And then the Lord was like, "Be quiet." And they, you know, they said something and it was very like it was it was so hurtful, but I just didn't I started speaking. I did. And then it was like the Lord was saying, "Be quiet," right? 86:51 And I just hushed. And so, but the the the biggest trial um was when I was um basically attacked verbally uh and physically. And um I didn't want to do anything. I didn't feel anything, but this is a soul. This is not even my child. Like I really, you know, I remember you you told me that this was my cross, right? and and I'm gonna have to be Christ. And I didn't want to hear that that night when you told me I got to be Christ, 87:21 right? But you know, and God just really helped me, you know, when I really wanted to retaliate, but I didn't want to retaliate. It was like I don't even know. It was like I was just out of my body. And every word that was spoken, every curse word, I spoke blessings. I hate you. I love you. Mhm. God said he love you with an everlasting love. And it was like that. Every word that they spoke that was spoken to me, I spoke back in love. I 87:51 spoke back with the word. But I I said, "But I raised you in God. I gave my life to God so you can have a better example." I said, "And that's all you know. This is all you know." And every time and the door was open, the neighbors was watching. It was just like a big a big show. Mhm. But I didn't want to do anything. Did it hurt? It kind of hurt a little bit, but it was like I was so out of my body, 88:21 so it didn't bother me. I just recognize, okay, this is a spirit. This is not for me to retaliate. It's for me to remain Christ. Right? So the people that's around me, my neighbors and things like that, they may know, some of them was laughing, but I can tell you what, they're going to know God was on the scene. Amen. they're going to know that Jesus was on the scene. So, I thank God if nothing else come out of it. It was it was of the 88:51 trial. The fact that I didn't respond like I responded before, right? That that's growth. That's God. And I thank him for that. So, I just praise God for that. I just wanted to say that this is all up and down my whole life right now. So, I thank God for that. That's all I want to say. Praise the Lord. Amen. I I thank God for your testimony because it proves the power of the word. You know, you've been sitting there listening to the word of God. 89:22 Now, here come the trial. And and saints, be be mindful of that. What you hear, you're going to be tried in it. You're not going to come here and just, you know, hear this word and think that it's not going to be tried and tested in your life. The moment you hear a revelation, the test coming.
