How to Study and Teach the Bible

Lesson 17: ONE SPIRIT

Oh, give thanks unto the Lord for He is good. He is above all creation. He sits upon the throne of the heavens and rests His feet upon the earth. Yet, He has craved a new home. A broken and a contrite heart He cannot deny. He has moved in the hearts of men.

Surely He has moved in our hearts. We can see and feel Him, He is evidently in us and we are grateful. As we continue to go deeper in our understanding the Lord is ensuring we understand the message of salvation.

WHAT IS THE MESSAGE?

It is the same message we have received from the beginning – the message on the mystery of God. The mystery of God is Christ in us the hope of glory. Christ has taken our hearts and our bodies as His temple. He merged Himself with our souls, and has by this made us sons of God. However, the Father is yet faithful to meet us at our point of need.

1 Corinthians 6:17

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

The scripture has declared that we have been joined to the Lord, and this has created one spirit. Joined here refers to being connected or united. This is a powerful reality the Lord desires us to rest in. However, the Lord has revealed that many struggle at accepting this marvelous reality. THE SPIRITUAL ANATOMY OF A SON OF GOD – (COMMON PERCEPTION) fig 1. Above is an illustration of the spiritual anatomy of a son of God, or rather what we have perceived it to be. We have learned over and over that for the son of God, the soul is in the Holy Spirit (Jesus) and the Spirit is in the flesh. This is indeed true, it will always be true, but what may be false is our perception of the truth. I want you to analyze figure 1 above. Do you realize you can clearly see the soul and the Spirit? Though, we are indeed in the Spirit, in the figure above, there is a small problem – there are two entities. We can clearly see two differing spiritual components. However, if we can see two differing spiritual components it means they are not one. We have taught the illustration above, to teach

Romans 8:9

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you… This lets us see that we are not directly touching the flesh. It also causes us to see

1 John 3:9

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

The above. demonstrates that if Christ is in our bodies, then the body cannot sin against us. However, though we have taught this infinitely it is very possible for our perception of it to be wrong. I want you to also note the color of the soul. It was deliberate. It seems when we see ourselves, we see a soul swimming around inside of the Holy Spirit. However, as it relates to sin, we have learned that it is the soul that is enticed. Therefore, when we see ourselves, we see ourselves (our souls) as an evil thing that is living in a Holy God. However, this perception contradicts scripture. We have been sanctified and justified by the Spirit. The Lord has made us holy and righteous, by making us one Spirit with Him. Even as Pastor Belinda Dash has taught us, one is singular, one is not two. One means only, and without variation. Saints, we are one with God. It therefore, means that figure 2 is a more accurate illustration of a son of God.

THE SPIRITUAL ANATOMY OF A SON OF GOD

The above illustrates clearly what it means for a soul to be in God. It means they have become one spirit. They have become one entity. The being of the soul has been buried by baptism into the being the Spirit. We are one! This explains the reason we can feel as the Spirit feels, and have His nature. It is because we are one.

TEACHING THE MESSAGE

This is Sons Training. Though it is good for us to know the message; it is also imperative for us to understand how to teach it. God is attempting to open our eyes to see the liberty in His Spirit. There is such a freedom that those who understand the current message are experiencing. We must all be bold enough to discard any preconceived notions concerning the application of the message, and go with God. The message is we are complete in Him, and all that we need pertaining to life and godliness we already have. Therefore, our ministry to the saints must be according to this truth. Our encouragements, rebukes, chastening, and doctrine must all point to nature. This means that once the Holy Spirit is in an individual they have the power to be holy instantly. All it takes is a decision. It also means we must repent for being judgmental. Have you experienced a saint who seems to have been in the same negative spiritual location for as long as you have known them? Though this may be true, we become judgmental when we cannot see the son of God through their mess. By seeing the son of God, I mean, seeing the strength and might of the Holy Ghost that is in them. Seeing their nature despite the darkness they are walking in. If you cannot see the son of God through their mess, you have judged them by making them one with their sin, instead of one with God. Therefore, our ministry, should be a shaking of the mind; a reminder of purpose and focus; an encouragement in nature. We must exalt this word in the churches. We must encourage them that the most basic version of a son is righteous. We must point them to who they are and encourage them to do what they were made to do. God bless, with love, Kareem
