A NEW AND LIVING WAY

John 14:6

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

In order for you to comprehend the nature of your salvation, you must first resolve to believe that which is written about it. It is the scriptures that give us the meaning and intent of the Father regarding his redemption plan. If you ignore or reject them, then you will never know the things God has truly done for you. But moreover, you will never be able to walk in the Spirit, free from sin and iniquity.

It is the knowledge of God that makes us free from the snares of this world. The time has come for the ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ to preach the same gospel as that of the apostles. I am amazed and stunned as to how far from the truth I have ministered in times past. I did not know the mystery of Christ, until it was revealed to me by God.

For many years I taught in error; not knowing the right perspective of scripture. Many of my colleagues are in the same place I walked in for years. But the God of our salvation is faithful. He will reveal the truth to those whose hearts hunger and thirst for it. He promised to do so; and we all know that he is a God that will deliver all that He says. I want to go directly to scriptures that validate the fact that mainstream Christendom is void of the true revelation of the mystery of God and the real gospel of Jesus Christ.

The first scripture I want to cite is found in Paul’s message to the Hebrew Church.

Hebrews 10:19-22

19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

21 And having an high priest over the house of God;

22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

This is the essence of the gospel of Christ. It is the revelation of the heart and mind of the Father regarding the salvation of his creation. Jesus was sent to the earth to establish a church or a body of believers. But these believers were to be the literal sons of God. The word ‘sons’ was not to be an analogy, but a reality. These believers would be the offspring of God, his begotten children.

Now Paul declares that we have been given access to God by a new and living way. He is contrasting the method of our salvation with the sacrifices of bulls, rams and goats. These animals were slain. They died on the altar, their blood was sprinkled on the people, and their remains were discarded. But this is not so with Jesus. He rose from the dead and created for us a new way to God. It is the method by which this was accomplished that is in question here.

My meaning is that the end result of our redemption is the great mystery that was hidden in the Father. Jesus consecrated or made new our relationship and fellowship with the Father. Note what the scripture says here: “he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh.” Jesus reconciled us to the Father by making us the bone of his bones and the flesh of his flesh.

Through faith in Jesus, and the indwelling of the Holy Ghost, we literally became the Body of Christ. When Jesus walked among men, he walked as the Son of the Living God. God was in him and that distinguished him from all others. The Father lived in his Son. The same is true of us. Through Jesus Christ, the Father is able to live in the Church. It is his holy habitation. It is crucial here that you see the mind of the Father in all of this. He wanted sons. According to the text, Jesus was the first of many brethren. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren (Romans 8:29).

The reason we were conceived in the manner in which we were, is so that Jesus could be the first of many. If we were conceived in any other fashion, then he would not be a first born. But in order to be such, there must be others likened unto you. Jesus is a heavenly quickening spirit. If we are mere human beings after salvation, then what would constitute him being a firstborn?

It is ludicrous to think that his brothers were any different than him. God didn’t beget two different types of children. In redemption, the old man is dead, all things are new and all things pertain to God. Paul makes this very clear in his letter to the Corinthians.

2 Corinthians 5:17-20

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; The word reconcile means to make acceptable, to cause to co-exist in harmony, and to make compatible.

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

The Holy Ghost is the Spirit Christ. Thus, God was in Jesus doing the work of reconciliation. Jesus testified of the Father’s presence and his work through him. It was the Father who needed man to die for man. It was the Father who declared that man’s sacrifice must be holy. It was the Father who decided only a son of His making would be able to fulfill the law of redemption. It was also the Father who determined death on the cross was to be the way of salvation for mankind (The old man was crucified with Christ).

Therefore, that son would be made compatible with him, and proven to co-exist with him, without controversy. Jesus fulfilled all these requirements, being the true offspring of the Father. He was begotten by the Spirit of God. His soul and the Holy Ghost were joined together as one. Through the circumcision of the flesh (Colossians 2:13), the body of sin was destroyed. Now our flesh has been washed, consecrated and dedicated to God. The body now belongs to God. It is the Temple of the Holy Ghost. Now I need to make something clear here. The body is not just dedicated to God through obedience. It is His dwelling place.

Again, it is His holy habitation. At some point, you must come to accept the truth. There are only two types of beings on planet earth: the sons of God and the sons of Adam, who through the corruptible seed (the spirit of iniquity) have become the offspring of the devil; see John 8:44.

John 8:44

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

The baptism of the soul into the Spirit of Christ is the new and living way. If you are born again, and Christ is in your body, then your body becomes the Temple of God. Therefore, the Spirit of Christ (the Holy Ghost) circumcises the flesh and makes it a clean and holy dwelling place for the Father and the Son. So now, when you look in the mirror, you see a new man. Your body is now the body of Christ. It belongs to him. The scripture bears witness of this.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Jesus is the image of God. What is that image? It is the image of mankind; or rather it would be more accurate to say that man is the physical image of Christ. The human body was constructed to be the image of Jesus Christ, before the foundations of the earth were laid. With Adam, the body was the home of a living soul. In the kingdom of God, it is the home of the Godhead. That is what distinguishes the sons of Adam from the sons of God. They look like everyone else; they live in the same world as everyone else; however, they are not of this world. They are the offspring of God; they are the sons of the Most High. You must not allow yourself to be deceived by unbelief.

This is the gospel - the good news. You have become a part of a new race. It is not human, it simply occupies a human body. This is the new and living way of freeing man from sin. Jesus will dwell in the flesh of God’s new creation. He cannot be tempted with sin and he has already overcome the world. Let me say it again. Christ living in your flesh makes it His own. It is the new and living way which he has consecrated for us to have fellowship with the Father. It is more than the forgiveness of sins as in the days of old. It is the actual doing away with sin and sin consciousness. It is the crucifixion of the sinner with Christ and the resurrection of the same in Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:5

4 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.

Here we go again. We do not preach about ourselves, or ‘self.’ But the truth is, we are your servants by, and for Jesus. Or as Paul puts it, “for Jesus’ sake.” When you embrace the fact that the body is now the dwelling place of Christ and that we are simply stewards of the flesh, then it makes sense that we truly are of a new and living way.

s sense that we are also servants of Christ. We do as much as we are led to do, by the Spirit within us.
