Discerning Obedience

THE SPIRIT OF PROCRASTINATION

The Lord has already spoken to us saying, “There is no more time.” We do not have time to procrastinate about living holy. Judgment begins at the house of God and is soon to be executed. We have been given too much truth and revelation of Christ to walk in the way of the world. The devil laughs as we become presumptuous in thinking that we have plenty of time to come into agreement with the Father. He simply waits for the Father to judge us as unrighteous, unholy and stubborn before Him. He knows that if we continue to procrastinate about obeying the Word, we will soon cross the line of demarcation.

Nevertheless, we are the children of the Most High God. He has called us to righteousness.

In fact, we have been made the righteousness of God through, in, and by Jesus Christ. Therefore, we are right now capable of walking in the Spirit continually. We do not have to sin. We can walk holy before God the Father, without sin being an issue. We are capable right now of obeying every word we have been taught by the Holy Ghost. That means we are without excuse.

Procrastination is nothing more than a compilation of excuses.

1. This is a weakness in my flesh that I am fighting to be delivered from.

2. I am pressing towards the mark. I am better than I used to be.

3. Be patient with me, God is not through with me yet.

4. I believe that soon God is going to deliver me out of this thing. He

knows I hate this sin. He knows my heart.

5. It is the responsibility of God to bring me to deliverance.

6. Every great man of God had a weakness of some kind. All the old patriarchs sinned against God in some manner, but God delivered them.

In order for these excuses to thrive, you must negate those things you know to be the truth. You must lay aside the truth that is in the Word of God. These excuses are nothing more than lies we tell others and ourselves. The problem is, if we continue in the lie God the Father will give us over to delusion that is far stronger than what we have manufactured in our own minds. He will give us over to believing the “lie” and Satan, rather than the truth that was forever before us. This means that the probability of coming out of such delusion is most likely nil.

Hebrews 3:14-17

14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

Romans 6:1-2

1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Romans 6:6-7

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Romans 6:11-15

11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

As a minister of the gospel, you may preach these truths to others. However, they are meaningless to your sinful situation because you have allowed these truths to be only a message to deliver on Sunday morning. They are not life to you, nor do you have respect for this truth. These are all excuses designed to make provisions for the sin to live on and on. You must accept the truth that is before you. WE SIN BY CHOICE. Furthermore, we have a mentality that says, “I will sin now, and be delivered later.” But look at the consequences of our actions.

Romans 6:23

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hebrews 10:29

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

I Timothy 4:1-2

1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

How many times must it be said before we finally believe it? How many times must the Spirit of God warn us before we come into agreement with the Father? We are not only sick with sin, but some of us should have become sick of sin by now. If so, then let us be what we are . . . the Manifested Sons of God.

What is the remedy for such conditions? It is again very simple, OBEDIENCE. Simply obey the Word of God. There is no other way to be set free from sin. STOP PERVERTING THE GOSPEL. OBEY THE TRUTH. LIVE ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF GOD. There is no great mystery here. In order to pervert the truth one must know the truth. Stop the sin. Live holy. Obey. Just simply obey.

PARTAKERS OF THE DIVINE NATURE

God has already given unto us all things that pertain to life and godliness. How? Through the knowledge of Him who has called us to glory and virtue.

II Peter 1:3

1 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

We received the divine nature at the new birth. This means we are the Sons of God. We have taken on His nature. We are of God.

Divine –1.a. Being or having the nature of a deity. b. Of, relating to, emanating from , or being the expression of a deity. c. Inspired by or devoted to a deity.

2.a. Godlike: perfect. b. Supremely pleasing. (Webster’s Dictionary)

Isaiah 11:1

1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

The rod is Jesus and the branch is the church. The branch comes out of His roots, so whatever He is, that is what the branch is. We came forth from the root, so, we are whatever the tree is.

THE NEW CREATURE HAS SPIRITUAL SENSES

Isaiah 11:2-4

2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

In the Spirit of the Lord is the spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and the fear of the Lord. All that is in the Holy Ghost. So, when we became children of God, we became children of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge and the fear of the Lord. When we took on the divine nature, whatever He is, that is what we became.

WE HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED EVERYTHING THAT WE ARE AND ARE TO BE. For example, consider the apple seed. The whole tree is in the seed; the branches, the root, the leaves and the fruit. You cannot see all of this when you look at the seed, but all of these things are in the seed. After the seed is placed in the soil, it is nurtured and it begins to grow, then you begin to see what is in the seed that you planted.

THE GREAT DECEPTION

At this moment, we are everything that pertains to godliness. We have received so much Word over the years, yet there are still some who are not walking in that Word. There is very little manifestation of this truth we have received. But, the scripture says that we have become partakers of His divine nature. That means that everything that God is, we are right now.

The reason we do not believe this is because we see the Word in a different location from our spiritual location. God sends His Word and we see it as the standard we must strive to reach because we feel we are lacking in some spiritual things that are needed to obtain the standard the Word sets for our lives. Eventually we get frustrated and declare it impossible to live up to the standard set by the Word. We adopt the mindset of falling and getting up. So, if we fall, we are still getting up and pressing.

Many are becoming frustrated, because it seems that no matter how hard they try, they cannot get to the standard the Word has set. When this happens, our testimony is that we are not there yet. But this is not true. This is deception and opens the door for continuous failure. The truth of the matter is that we never moved from the first spiritual location. We were falling and getting up in the same place. We have not moved from that location. The devil has us rejoicing in the saying, “God is going to carry us to the next level.” We tell ourselves that it is His responsibility to purge us of all sin. This is not true! When we do this, we make God responsible for our sin. But He is not.

OBEDIENCE ALLOWS US TO TURN THE PAGE WITH GOD

The reason we have been falling and getting up, but not moving is because when the Word came WE DID NOT OBEY. This is the bottom line . . . simple disobedience. The devil or a demon has nothing to do with it. In our own fleshy mind we sift from the Word what we are going to do and what we are not going to do.

The scripture says that the godliness we received in the divine nature is through the knowledge of Him who called us to glory and virtue. The Word of God tells us who we are. If we obey, we become the Word and manifest the thing that we are. The Word comes to instruct the new creature; how to walk, what to do and how to do it. Now if He obeys the Word, everyone will see God through godliness. This new creature does not fall because He obeys the Word.

2 Peter 1:5-10

5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

All of this falling and getting up is nothing more than a spirit of procrastination. It simply means that there has not been a decision made to obey the Word. Procrastination will carry you to hell. God does not have us at one point and has the Word at another point beyond our reach. His Word meets us where we are. We simply must not harden our hearts the day we hear the Word.

Obedience to the Word manifests the creature we are. We are holy. We have wisdom and understanding. We have the fear of the Lord. We are a mystery. We were created holy. We can manifest Christ. Many feel they have time to continue to fall and get up. But what are they going to do if they die in their sins? Many have gotten comfortable falling and they justify it because they keep getting up. What signal are we sending to others and ourselves? We are saying we cannot walk holy and that it is all right because after the fall, we can always get up.

WE ARE VERY CHRIST

Our body is now the body of Christ. The scripture says it belongs to God. This is literal. Jesus died and paid the price for our body. We have to accept what happened at salvation.

John 17:22

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

Jesus asked the Father to make us one as He and God are one. So, in the same way Jesus is one with God, WE ARE ONE WITH GOD. We are the divine nature of God. It does not appear what we are, because we do not walk in obedience. This is the only difference in Jesus and us. HE ALWAYS WALKED IN OBEDIENCE. We do not always walk in obedience. This is why there is a separation and a difference between Jesus and us. Jesus had no other agenda than that of the Father. Jesus knew who He was, but we do not accept who we are. Right now we are the righteousness of God. We do not have to become righteousness. We were created holy. We just have to walk in obedience so that who we are might manifest.

We need to see what we give up by not obeying. When we do not obey and cannot manifest God, we have to look for a reason why. We feel that the apostles and Jesus had something we do not have. Well they did. They had obedience.

Many are just not ready to stop what they are doing. They believe that if they are being counseled that this will say to others they are trying. This gives them a license to keep falling. This is a game being played with the devil, but your soul is the prize. Many in the world are about to die and go to hell because of their disobedience. But for those that have heard the truth, we too are coming under judgment for what we have already heard. We do not have long . . . all of our sin must stop.

WE WILL NEVER MANIFEST THE JESUS MINISTRY UNTIL WE OBEY HIM IN ALL THINGS.
