Faith Of The New Creature

Many years ago the Lord gave us a revelation of the definition of faith. As in all true revelations of the word, it was simple and quite understandable. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things unseen. This is the defining passage of script found in Hebrews 11:1. Thus we learned that faith is the essential part (substance), of the things we hope or maintain a great expectation for; and it is the evidence or proof of those things God has promised, but we have not yet seen; (eternal life, and the new body).

For the Sons of God, faith is the Holy Ghost. With our faith being the Holy Ghost, we are relieved of the struggles some face in trying to motivate ourselves to believe that God will do that which we ask Him to do. When I think of the condition my ministry was in during the time this revelation of Faith came, I remember how much we wanted to be able to walk in the faith of the disciples. To us, this meant being able to heal the sick, open blind eyes and cause the lame to walk. We really wanted what we called the Jesus ministry. Little did we know; that faith was the complete operation of God that had been bestowed on us and, because of it, we would be able to walk in true holiness. We knew the disciples had something we did not have, but we thought it was simply their great faith or belief in Jesus. However it was more than that; they were obedient to that which they had received and believed; therefore they had fellowship with God.

Yes, it is true our faith is the Holy Ghost, but our fellowship in the mystery of Christ is our submission and obedience to the Holy Spirit. Therefore in actuality, for the Sons of God, faith is obedience to the Holy Ghost. This takes the stress out of walking in the Spirit but some just think this to be philosophical because they claim never to consistently know the will of God. They believe and seek to obey. But sometimes they get confused as to what it is God wants them to do. Well, there is no tactful way to say the truth here. If we are confounded in situations pertaining to this life, it is because we are not walking in fellowship with God; for the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit is a promise.

Believe me brothers and sisters; I have been very perplexed in my walk with God but each time, I came to realize that I was not in true fellowship with the Father and the Son. There was some darkness and/or offensiveness in me that God was unable to fellowship with. Therefore, I did not have the privilege of His leadership or guidance in some of the decisions I had to make. The Lord wants to be very candid about this issue. Faith for the Sons is not the strain and stress of trying to believe that a wanted or needed event will take place. It is submission to the will and way of God, without doubt or unbelief. It is the ability to stand still in the contentment of knowing that God is in control of every aspect of our being, and all that is attached to us.

THE FAITH OF THE SON OF GOD

Jesus is the New Man. He is the faith that God gave to every man, woman and child in the Body of Christ. The scripture warns us to examine ourselves to see if we are in “the faith.” To be in “the faith” is to be in Jesus Christ. There is a vast difference in faith and belief. I think this difference can be understood best by the fact that faith includes belief. In other words, belief simply means to accept something as true or real. It is also a strong conviction of trust and confidence. However, this belief, trust, conviction and confidence in God and godliness, can only be expressed by obedience. Therefore, for one’s confession to be, “I believe God,” but not obey his word, it is void or empty of any spiritual substance other than sin.

Now on the other hand, faith is all-inclusive. New Testament faith is a living person. It is Jesus Christ, in the person of the Holy Ghost; living in human flesh and working the works of God. Paul tells us, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me

(Gal 2:20). Jesus is the one who gave His life for us and to us. He is alive and well in the fleshy bodies of the saints; with the same purpose, reference and obedience to the will of the Father that He had more than two thousand years ago. It is His faith that survived trying, testing, persecutions, torture and hell. Jesus was the first to be able to say, “I do always those things that please the Father.” Therefore he is the author and finisher of our faith… (Heb.12:2).

THE PURPOSE OF BELIEF

I don’t want you to think that belief is not necessary for the Sons of God. But I do want you to understand its place in the faith of the operation of God. To do that, let us look at the scripture below from the position of the new creature.

1 Peter 4:10-11

10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen

The breakdown in our faith has been our ignorance regarding the relationship between the new man and the new creature. Jesus is the New Man who has bought and paid for the body and soul of the believer. He lives in our flesh and it is His Spirit that has caused our flesh to live again. It is by the indwelling of Christ that we are called the children of God. The scripture is precise in this. Peter boldly states that when we speak, it should be the oracles of God. When we minister, it should be by the ability God has given. When this is the case, then God is glorified through Jesus Christ who lives in us.

Nevertheless, though Jesus has bought and paid for this body, He gives us the stewardship over it. This is because the institution of faith is established on obedience to the will of God. Our obedience must be tried and tested in order for us to be found worthy of the Kingdom of God. Without this stewardship over our bodies, we would be mere robots as it relates to doing the will of the Father. This obedience to the word and will of God is crucial in that it is also a manifestation of our love for the Father. He has said, “if you love me, you will keep my commandments.” (John 14:15). Therefore, Paul is also bold in his letter to the Corinthians.

1 Corinthians 9:27

But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

This scripture does not imply that the body is somehow able to rise up in lust or iniquity against the faith of our Lord. It simply means that we will not use our liberty to live unto the gratification of the flesh. Remember, it is the soul that seeks after the righteousness of God or the lusts of the world. So where is the place for belief, if our faith is simply to obey the Holy Ghost? Well, my brothers and sisters, it takes believing God to obey Him. It takes a steadfast belief in the word to always do those things that please the Father. Furthermore, it takes belief and trust to follow the leading and guidance of the Holy Ghost in spite of all opposition.

For those who have been systematically following this message over the past year this may sound very redundant. However, each time we look into the truth it seems to deepen. First of all, this whole discourse reveals the mind of a true son of God and his relationship with the Father. We see and hear a fellowship that has forged a union that can only be classified as Oneness. Yes, Jesus was one with the Father, but so are we. He always obeyed God in word and in deed; so can we. Our Oneness with the Father is a physical union; often overlooked and disregarded by the people of God. The physical union I speak of is relative to the Father being present with the Son.

Out of one side of the mouth we say that Jesus is our example in every sense of the term example but on the other hand we fail to acknowledge His literal presence with us. That however, was not true regarding the relationship between Jesus and the Father. We struggle with the Faith of Jesus Christ, because we first struggle with simple belief and trust in Him. Let us purpose to end this madness. Destroy the doubt that is sin. God has dealt to all of us the measure of faith. Your belief and trust in the word and will of God makes your faith strong and powerful. Believe in God and allow yourself to live by the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ.
