CHAPTER THREE

JUDGE ME OH LORD

Do not forsake to obey the instructions. Read this chapter and do an earnest assessment of yourself. For no man knows a man but the spirit of a man. We are instructed to judge ourselves, least we be judged of God. Are we truly ready to be judged of Him?

Psalm 26:1

Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: (truth and truthfulness, honor and honesty, uprightness and reliability) I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide. (Slide: I will not lose confidence in, move from hope or cease to be bold in the Lord.)

The scripture instructs us not to be weary in well doing.

Sometimes, the hand of the Lord seems to move slowly in some situations. But we must remind ourselves that no matter what the day brings, all things are working together for the good of those who love the Lord and maintain their integrity towards Him and man. You can trust this truth. Don’t allow it to fall to the ground. Believe me; the time will come when your only hope will be your trust in the Word of God.

It is our faith that motivates God to move on our behalf, but we are not in a position to instruct him as to when or how to move. He not only knows all things that are connected and affected by a situation, but he also knows what we must encounter and endure that a testimony of righteousness and power will be created in us.

Psalm 26:2

Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.

It is certain that the Lord will observe us with great scrutiny according to His word and His Spirit. We must do the same beforehand, for we are instructed to examine ourselves as to whether we are in the Faith.

This word examine, means to study, prove, establish and verify. It is not a hard thing to determine if we are doing that which the word mandates. It is however; hard for some to admit they are not doing so. In some cases it is convenient to say I have missed the mark as opposed to admitting the areas of opposition.

I use the word opposition because it is true that when we do not obey the truth it is because we simply oppose that truth. We do not see it as law for our lives.

Psalm 26:3-5

3 For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.

4 I have not sat with vain persons; (spiritually unsuccessful, unproductive, futile and ineffective) neither will I go in with dissemblers (those who put on a false appearance in order to conceal facts, feelings or intentions. This word also means to hide real beliefs, feelings, or intentions through misleading speech or behavior.)

5 I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked. (sinful, evil, immoral or iniquitous).

In our time this represents the congregation of gossipers and whisperers. We are not to hate the individuals but that which they do. To despise iniquity and immorality is to depart from it. We are instructed to follow peace with all men. If the people you hang with are not peacemakers, then you should not be a part of their congregation.

Psalm 26:6

I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O LORD:

You cannot enter the presence of God with the blood of others on your hands. Neither will you enter having sat in the seat of the scornful and those who work evil. Nevertheless, we must be righteous in our dealings with those who strike at us or seek to destroy us.

Before we come to the altar of God in prayer we must make sure our hearts are righteous towards others and that we have obeyed the Word of God in our dealings with our fellowman. This includes a careful examination of our emotions towards those who have sought to inflict evil upon us. Anger must not abide in us. We must choose to remain steadfast in the Spirit so that love and compassion will rule our hearts. Forgiveness must be at the forefront of adversity.

Psalm 26:7-8

7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. When the heart is pure and the soul is innocent of evil, we are able to offer the sacrifice of praise for the majesty and greatness of our God.

8 LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.

Here you must ask yourself, “Do I really love the Body of Christ;” for that is the habitation of the Father today. Is it easy for Satan to use you to destroy others using the mighty tongue? Those who are called the sons of God have been honored and anointed by God. If they should do evil it is for the Lord to judge and chasten. It is not for us to bring discourse and division, hatred and iniquity among us.

• To love God and His people is to contend for the faith. It is to be steadfast and sure in that which you have received.

• To love the Body is to bestow much labor and sacrifice for Christ sake. It is not of God to have respect of persons.

• To love the people of God is to esteem them higher than yourself and to prefer their wellbeing above your own.

Psalm 26:9-10

9 Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:

10 In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes (Inducements, seduction, corruption).

It seems we have left the mentality of the disciples who declared they worked out their salvation with fear and trembling. Where is the fear of the Lord in the Church today? It is almost non-existent.

In your examination of yourself, can you truly say that you think, feel and act differently than sinners? Can you earnestly say that you are worthy of eternal glory? In the past this question did not seem to carry that much weight among the Sons of God. But the admonition of the Lord insists that it is a question that must be answered with the gravest of thought.

Psalm 26:11-12

11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.

12 My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.

Forgetting past failures, what about the life you live now? Are you living by the power of the faith of Christ? Do you have the emotions of the Spirit or are you always battling and struggling with attempts to obey righteousness or to love the people of God?

If so, then you are walking after the flesh which simply means seeking to use the body or flesh to satisfy the desires of the soul. It is usually during a walk after the flesh that one tries to make decisions that should only be made by the Spirit. This is why we must walk in the Spirit so that all our decisions are done and led by God.

Be honest; don’t lie to yourself about yourself. It is unfruitful to do. I love you and please be encouraged.
