In order for us to understand the coming of the millennium reign, we must first examine the purpose of God in the history of mankind. To do so, we will go to the divine records that reveal the foundational purpose for man and the earth.
Genesis 1:1
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:26
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
MAN: THE GOD OF THIS WORLD
It is the Lord God almighty who made the heavens and the earth. They are the handiwork of his hands. It is also the Lord who made the man. Now the man was made in the image of God; in that, he was given dominion over all the earth. He was to subdue and rule the earth. This means Adam was made the bishop of this planet. He had the dominionship and was the supreme potentate of the earth. As the man obeyed the law of God, the power of God secured his position as supreme ruler. The earth was the kingdom of man. Being in the likeness of God he was made a lesser god or mediator between God and the kingdom of earth. Adam was responsible for the happenings of the earth. He had dominion over all the fish of the sea, the fowls of the air and every thing that crept on the face of the earth. The animals were named by Adam. God respected him as the Bishop of the planet.
