Destroying the Works of the Devil

THE AUTHORITY OF GOD

You must begin to see Satan from God’s perspective. He is an angel whom the Father created and gave status and a multitude of traffic. He was given a throne and dominion in the heavens. Jesus called him the god of this world, as the angels are lesser gods. It is apparent that at some point this angel regarded iniquity in his heart against God. He left his first estate and rebelled against the Most High. But that’s it right there! God is the Most High. Satan is still a lesser god and is now being used to manifest God’s plan for Man.

I recall Jesus saying to His disciples that if they did not understand the parable of the sower they could not possibly understand any other parables. This is astonishing seeing as how all of the parables refer to the Kingdom of Heaven. In this parable all the players are on location. "The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. Therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world" (St. Matt 13:38-40).

In the parable there is a distinction made between the world and the Kingdom of God. Standing before Pilate, Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world.” And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the Kingdom of God should come, He answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you (St. Luke 17:20-21).

Those who are born again are the children of the Kingdom, but they are caused to remain in the world which is a part of the kingdom of darkness. Jesus further iterates this in his John 17th Chapter prayer, “they are in the world but they are not of this world.” Satan also confirmed this in his conversation with Christ. "And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it" (St. Luke 4:5-6).

This rogue angel has seized possession of the kingdoms of the world through the disobedience of man which caused him to be separated from God. But now, are we to assume that the devil has somehow outwitted or outmaneuvered God in possessing the kingdoms of the earth? I think not. Even Satan knows the truth. The heavens do rule. One of his kings established that fact a long time ago. When the king of Babylon became lifted up in pride and spoke foolishly of his dominion, the watchers from heaven responded immediately. "And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will" (Dan 4:32).

So even though Satan boasts of his power in the kingdoms of the earth, he knows that it is Almighty God who rules over him and his kingdoms. John speaks of Satan’s knowledge of the authority of God as he foretells Satan’s eviction from the heavens. “. . . Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time" (Rev 12:12).

The world has become a place of darkness and death. But in the dimension called “time” all things come to an end. At the sound of the last or seventh trumpet, the world will stand at the threshold of eternity. "And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever" (Rev 11:15).

It is then that, "the Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth" (St. Matt 13:41-42).

In the end Christ and His saints will inherit the earth and all that are upon it. Evil will be destroyed and the earth will be purged of all things that offend. It will once again be a part of the kingdom of Light. I remain your servant, Mary Banks, Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ

One day the devil and all his angels are going to be cast into everlasting fire.
