THE CHURCH vs. THE SPIRIT OF JEZEBEL

Brethren, I bring greetings to you as an Apostle of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Saints, it is of utmost importance to me and our Father that the people of God be not deceived by the wiles of the enemy.

Recently, the Lord used a message sent to me via e-mail to reveal to me the plan of the enemy in the local assembly and the body at large. There is a spirit that seeks to bring division and destruction in the lives of those who would be holy. Many in the Body of Christ know the story of Jezebel but the Lord wants us to discern that Jezebel is more than a queen of old. In the Bible, Queen Jezebel was a wicked leader who was responsible for the persecution and deaths of many prophets of old. Her heart was strictly set upon totally exterminating those who proclaimed that Jehovah; the God of the Jews was the only true and living God.

1 Kings 19:1-2

1. And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.

2. Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.

I declare today that Jezebel is a spirit thriving even in our time. There is a war in between that which is holy and that which is not. Jezebel has raged a war against God’s people of today. The spirit of Jezebel is trying to use those who have not submitted themselves to walking after the Spirit of God. The enemy knows that he cannot destroy those filled with the Holy ghost. We can only be destroyed from within through our refusal to be holy. In the book of Galatians, Apostle Paul tells us,

Galatians 5:14-15

14. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

15. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

My brothers and sisters, I submit to you that unless we go beyond human belief in God, we are a candidate for the spirit of Jezebel and other spirits like it to use us as poison in the church. We are a candidate for back-biting, gossiping and iniquity. The brother or sister who stands in open defiance of the Word and boasts in sin has been seduced by that spirit. The brother or sister who secretly discourages others in their pursuit of God has that spirit working through them. It is the steadfastness in the faith of Christ that will guarantee our ability to overcome the workings of Jezebel in the church. The faith that God expects the church to walk in is more than belief; it is complete acceptance of the life of Christ. As Apostle Banks tells us in the epistle, The Great Divide, the church must exemplify more than mental accent as to who God is. The church must be a presentation of who God is. Such a presentation stems from having the sentiments of compassion, love and truth as our brother Jesus. The Bible asks who can have compassion on the ignorant? The Father wants His children to hear the call He has sent out. We must decide if we will walk as the anointed vessels of hope or if we will be deceived into believing that we are as mere men.

Hebrews 5:1-3

1. For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:

2. Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.

3. And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.

Saints, it is time to put aside every weight that so easily besets us. We are living in such evil days and the only light of the world is in the sons of God. However, if those who declare themselves as sons have lost the fear of the Lord, there will be no difference seen in the church. The church cannot be a body of people who accept sin. The church cannot and will not be a body of people walking without discretion. The Lord has a group of leaders who will stand on the wall as watchers. Those watchers will bring to light those things done in the dark. Those watchers will sound the alarm when the spirit of Jezebel rears its head in defiance of the Word. The Lord says the day has come for Jezebel to be driven from the church. That spirit hates the true people of God and will try to kill the effect of the Word. However, God is not mocked. Those who will not heed to the Word will not be able to blend in because God is making a distinction. This is the day of The Great Divide.

It is encouraging to know that entrance into the Kingdom of Christ is a simple matter of agreement. The difference between being Jezebel in the church and being Christ is submitting to unadulterated truth even when doing so means standing alone. Such a stance must be taking even in the face of losing all that we hold dear. Those who love the Father and His people will make it. God will not allow anyone panting after His own heart to falter. He is a loving Father who desires all to be brought to salvation. Sin is not an option and He will not fellowship with darkness. It is time that we take the same posture and refuse to associate ourselves with Jezebel or anything else that will arise against God. The enemy desires to sift us but we do not have to be casualties.

Luke 22:31-32

31. And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

32. But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Jesus Christ has prayed for us and we must pray for one another. My friends, God is with us and if we stand in holiness there is absolutely nothing that can prosper against us. We can prosper as the people of the Most High God if we only walk as what we are.
