IF WE CONTINUE

Colossians 1:23

If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

In the beginning of the lesson, we established that the challenge would come to be moved away from the faith. I know many of you are questioning, “Am I truly maintaining my faith or have I moved away?” The truth is that we cannot measure our submission to Christ by what we say, do or portray on the outside.

Even if we meet every mandate given us in the ministry, be a good husband or wife and serve unceasingly, it is still possible to be moved away in the heart. Remember, Jesus Christ is the author and the finisher of our faith. This means that His life is the blueprint for ours. He had no problem obeying the Word of God at any cost. Again, I submit to the body of Christ that unless we embrace the Word with EVERYTHING we have to the point that we refuse to disobey it no matter what it costs us, we have been moved away from the faith.

There are no medium or gray areas in the faith. There are no allowances for a little sin or a certain type of sin. Either we submit in totality to the Word of our Father or we do not. There is no way of getting around this; at some point brethren we are going to have to accept this as truth. Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life. The life of Jesus is the only way that we will make it in to see the Father in peace. If we think that we are going to get there by any other route, we are sadly mistaken and I want to let you know from now… you will not make it into Heaven. Sadly, some will always complain that the route to God by Jesus Christ is too narrow. But I want to encourage you not to be those who turn away. Let us embrace Jesus’ way together and go in God together.
