We Will Not Look Back

I thank God for this opportunity to share with you because I know that I will see God do great and marvelous things through you. I think about how I would be if I were only fleshy. I would have never been given the chance to do most of the things that I have done so far. My life in the flesh wouldn’t have permitted me because in the flesh I am nothing. I am a failure in the flesh but in the Spirit I have walked with kings and queens. In the Spirit, I have done greater things than I ever imagined. In the flesh, I’ve failed in life but in the Spirit, I’ve ministered before thousands, bringing them into the kingdom. I am not bragging and if I do boast, I boast in Christ because without Him I am nothing. I never thought that I would write books, do monologues, or produce albums that edify. Through Him I have lifted my fellow man.

I thank God for His Spirit. I have done so much through Him and this should be your encouragement. Look at your own life. You too have done so much and succeeded through the Spirit while through the flesh you have failed. If we are honest, we don’t even want to think about who we are in the flesh. I now know that in Christ there is a better life for me than in the flesh. I want to encourage you that there is a better life in Christ Jesus for you too. Thank God that we are no longer in the flesh but we dwell in the Spirit of Christ our Lord. Now that we are in the Spirit, let’s go on to perfection.

Hebrews 6:1

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

This is my consolation: that in the Spirit I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me and I pray that it be yours also. For in the flesh I can do nothing as he fore stated in St. John 15, we can do nothing of ourselves but if we abide in Him and He in us, then we shall ask what we will and it shall be given to us. A Change Has Happened Friends, I want to encourage you. We are now spiritual and who we were before salvation has been done away with.

2 Corinthians 5:16-18

16. Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

17. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

18. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

Many times we as sons of God have seen ourselves after our own personal shortcomings or what we would determine to be downfalls, but as I stated before, I want to encourage you that now it is time that we know ourselves and everyone we deal with, only after the Spirit. If we have been born again, we are different. Regardless of what each of us looks like in the mirror, we must have the confidence in knowing that we have been made different. This is why the scripture tells us to know no man, not even ourselves, after the flesh. In dealing with others, God does not want us to judge our brothers and sisters based on their past. Whatever happened in the past is no longer of importance. It is now time to encourage one another in the spirit of love: edifying our brothers and sisters and esteeming them higher than we esteem ourselves. As we have been instructed in the word by the Apostle Paul in the book of Philippians:

Philippians 2:3

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

A person could have had faults but it is our responsibility to believe that they have changed. Just as we have turned the page as individuals, we must give everyone else the benefit of the doubt, believing they too have turned the page with God. We must believe that if they are the children of God, change is possible and has happened in their lives. Now, if your brother or sister does fall or stumble, the scripture tells us how to entreat them.

Galatians 6:1-2

1. Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

2. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

As the scripture states above, in order for us to restore our brother in love, we must first consider ourselves as we approach them. If we remember that we were once out of the way and not ready to live holy, it will be easy to remain humble. If we consider ourselves, when we were in sin, we will stay in a posture of mercy, grace, and love. I want to encourage you, if you have turned the page with God don’t look back. There is nothing behind us but depression, failure and destruction. If we continue to look back, we are destined to go back. Can you steer a car forward while looking behind you? It is virtually impossible. The same runs parallel now; it is time that we only move forward to the great things that lay ahead.

Philippians 3:13-14

13. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

We Will Not Look Back

Genesis 19:22-26

22. Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do any thing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.

23. The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.

24. Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;

25. And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

26. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

Recently, God has been instructing us to turn the page with Him and some have turned that page. Let’s keep the page turned. Let’s not look back lest we turn into a pillar of salt as Lot’s wife. For all that is behind us deserves to stay behind us. We are now spiritual; let us look at ourselves as such. We are children of the most high God so let us not remember yesterday. We have moved on, we are different. We are new creatures in Jesus. We are blessed, and not cursed. Let us not hang with those who are not ready to live this life of holiness or those who discourage because they will only bring us down. They will only make us consider going back. Let us walk with people who are strong, people who are positive and encouraging for those are our real friends.

The secret to success is obeying God at any cost; allowing your life to be governed by God and doing the will of the Father. Let us go back, pick up our cross, which is our passion for souls and let us spend the rest of our time winning souls for the kingdom. This will keep us out of sin. Yes, there will be some suffering but the Word says that he that has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin. Let us trust the Word of God. Let us act on it and live by it.

Matthew 4:4

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

These words are literal and they will keep you. I want to encourage you my brother and sister that you don’t have to go back. I don’t care if everyone in your community is in sin, you can be the exception. Make a point to be different than this world. Know this: if you are a friend to the world, then you are an enemy of God. We are an offense to this world because we represent everything that it is not. We represent holiness in a world that hates our God. We represent righteousness in a world that prefers perversion. We represent celibacy for the unmarried in a world that promotes promiscuity. We represent wholeness in a world that says we are empty. We are not empty; we are the sons of the most high God. We should no longer try to impress the world. Let them be the world and we be the sons and when we fellowship with them let it be because we have brought them into our faith, not because they have converted us.
