.INTRODUCTION

Our belief in God is vital to our spiritual walk. Now that we can believe God as the scripture has said, we have to raise the level of expectancy both in us and in those around us. The life Jesus lived gained Him a reputation of holiness. When people entertained Him, they did not expect to experience anything but godliness. This must become our testimony. When others entertain us, they must expect to see nothing but Christ. The only way we will attain this testimony is by submitting our whole mind, body, soul and will to the Father and His will for our lives. Before we go into this study, let us define the word expectancy:

According to Webster’s Dictionary:

EXPECTANCY - 1: the act, action, or state of expecting 2: to anticipate or look forward to the coming or occurrence of 3: to consider bound in duty or obligated

Simply put, expectancy is to anticipate or look forward to the occurrence of something considered our duty or obligation to do; something that is “only natural”. But as the Sons of God, what is “only natural” to us? We have heard that we are to be perfect, but it really doesn’t seem to be “natural” for us not to sin all the time. We have been ingrained with the mindset that we will fail, repent and be accepted back into God’s graces all of the time. However, such a cycle is unnatural to those who have the Spirit of God. But before we go that far, let us go into the Word.
