THE SPIRIT OF DELUSION: SIN IN THE CAMP

I really want to take this opportunity to expose the wiles of the enemy. Satan has had tremendous success at keeping the saints of God in sin. However, we must acknowledge that in order to do so, Satan had to bring the leaders of the Church into captivity first. This, too, has been a success. If those who lead the Body are in sin, then the only place they are able to lead the Body is into sin. The anointing flows from the head down. This is why the Body of Christ is not growing into the stature of the man Jesus Christ. There is sin in the camp.

I must focus on the leadership because we are responsible for what the Body of Christ knows and comprehends of God. We are the examples of what the Body is to be. If we do not move into the righteousness of God, then the Body will never make it there. However, the Lord is faithful in His commitment to us. He is exposing the wiles of Satan, which is in turn purifying the Body of Christ. Nevertheless the process is a painful one. For in the exposure of the sin, we see the awful wickedness of leadership in the Church.

I speak now to those in the ministry knowing the truths of God. I speak to and of those who are able ministers of the Word of God, knowing good and evil, ministering the same to congregations day after day, week after week and year after year. I speak to and of the learned doctors, apostles, evangelists and pastors who have carried the truth to the Body but refuse to walk in the same. Hear me, Ladies and Gentlemen, for my concern is for our souls, but my question must be answered by the conscience.

HOW CAN WE WHO KNOW THE WORD OF TRUTH LIVE SO COMFORTABLE, SO MANY YEARS IN SIN?

Yes, beloved, in sin; for we are in sin if we are consistently living a lifestyle that is always missing the mark. How can a man or woman of God continue in the same sin year after year, while preaching the deliverance power of the Word to others, concerning the same sin he or she is caught up in? The Holy Ghost let me know that there is a spirit of delusion operating very successfully in the Church.

1 John 3:4

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Conscience – 1. The spirit of the mind. 2. Co-perception of both worlds (good and evil, flesh and spirit). 3. Is the judge of all the

Ephesians 4:22-23

22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

Hebrews 9:9-14

9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;

10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

THE WORKINGS OF DELUSION

DELUSION- A. Verb. paralogizomai BEGUILE. B. Noun. To be on another plane. "A wandering," of the mind, whereby those who are led astray roam hither and thither, in their spiritual walk. Delusion is always used in the New Testament as mental straying, wrong opinion, error in morals or religion. In 2 Thess 2:11, KJV, it is translated delusion or error. It is deceit or deception regarding the application of the Word of God in our lives.

2 Thessalonians. 2:10-12

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Delusion is the spirit of ERROR. It is the straying away of the mind into its own opinions, solutions or provisions for the desire of the flesh. It is an act of mental persuasion that the truth is a lie and the lie is truth, relative to our own sinful situations. IT IS BY THE SPIRIT OF DELUSION THAT ONE IS ABLE TO PICK UP HIS OR HER ENTIRE SINFUL SCENARIO AND PLACE IT IN THEIR MINISTRY IN THE MIDST OF CONSISTENT HEARING AND DISPENSING OF THE TRUTH. In doing so, the sin survives to be alive and well.

Let me break this down a little more. I will use something that we all are very familiar with: The sin of fornication or adultery. Since we are dealing here with leadership, then leaders must bear this burden. A pastor is caught up in the sin of fornication or adultery. However, he or she is not just caught in a one-time affair, but let us say that in twenty years of salvation, this individual has never had a year free of that particular sin. Nevertheless, we are dealing with a minister who may have brought much deliverance in the lives of others who were captive by the same sin. Through his or her teaching, preaching and counseling, many were blessed and set free. What is the problem? What are we dealing with here? Why can’t the physician heal himself with the same medicine he used to cure others? One mindset vocalized about such a situation is: “This is just a weakness I have in the flesh, and one day the Lord will deliver me.” But, the truth is, others held captive by the same sin were delivered by the Word you preached, taught or counseled. Why is there a difference in the effect of the Word in their life as opposed to the effect of the same Word in your life?

THE PROTECTORS OF SIN

The truth is, THAT LEADER IS NOT READY TO COME OUT OF THE SIN. IT IS A PLEASURE THAT HAS BECOME A LIFESTYLE. When walking in the spirit of delusion, you are able to place your whole sinful scenario in a box constructed by self-conceived lies that fully persuade you of the “no harm” or “no consequence” factor relating to your sin. Once placed in this box, the sin is protected from the Word that you hear, as well as the Word that you preach, teach or counsel. Nothing you hear or say will touch your sin. It is allowed to live and thrive in your ministry, and more importantly, in your relationship with God and His people. Your sin is protected by PRIDE, SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS, PROCRASTINATION AND FALSE HUMILITY. These are the building materials used to build the box that is the protector of our sin.

Someone or something is always affected by our sin. Example: A leader is in the midst of one of many affairs. The Lord continues to send a Word to deal with the lust in the Church, and he is the very deliverer of such Word. However, in the presence of others being delivered by that Word, he, himself, is still in the bondage of that sin. Now multiply this scenario on a monthly or yearly basis. What is the problem? Why can’t he be delivered? He has taken the sin he is in and placed it in the box. It is placed there for protection against the Word. This protection holds fast no matter how God chooses to bring the Word.

The sin will survive preaching, teaching and counsel, even that of his own. The sin is safe-guarded with self-righteousness, pride, false humility and procrastination. Nothing preached or taught will touch the sin. It is protected against any interference the Word might cause. Therefore, it is able to survive ministry and relationship. This is true spiritual warfare, as it is the thorough use of the devices of Satan as it is fed to the fleshy mind (brain). This person’s mind is deluded. Therefore, they live and operate in a spirit of delusion. Now understand that this is not the work of Satan, IT IS THE WORK OF THE FLESHY MIND. WE SIMPLY LEARNED THE TRICKS OF THIS TRADE FROM SATAN.

Protectors of Sin

1. Pride

2. Self-righteousness

3. Procrastination

4. False Humility

The un-renewed fleshy mind is enmity against God! The mind must be renewed by the Word of God. It is the fleshy mind that wanders hither and thither in contrast to the truth. It is the fleshy mind that forms its own opinions relative to the sin and its effect on ministry and relationships. It is the fleshy mind that creates and maintains provisions for our sin. The poor leader described above is a victim of his own fleshy mind. Many leaders in the Church are caught in a web of greed, lust and pride that have caused them to lead the Body of Christ into divers temptations.

To hold the Body in sin, Satan has to continue to beguile the leaders of the Church. He is doing the same thing he did to Eve in the Garden. He is using the spirit of deception.

Romans 12:2

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Ephesians 4:23

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

The Fleshy Mind: 1. Wanders hither and thither in contrast to the truth. 2. Forms its own opinions relative to sin and its effect on ministry and relationships. 3. Creates and maintains provisions for sin.
