GLOSSARY

(Taken from Vine’s Bible Dictionary and Dr. Mary Banks’ Expository)

Holiness : Your relationship with God that is acceptable unto Him.

Submission: An attitude of the heart that is reflected in the mind and body.

Situations: Operations that are set up by the Holy Ghost where we can choose to do the right, wrong or the righteous thing.

Circumstances: Those areas of our lives we have some control over (Example: marriages, jobs, health, education, finances, etc).

Relationships: Those interactions or exchanges with mankind in which you are responsible for revealing Christ and perpetrating the will of God.

Iniquity: Rebellion against instituted authority. Lawlessness. Absence of love. That which is designed to stop the flow of love. (Ezekiel 28:15).

Impure Heart: When the actions of the flesh offend the heart. The impurities do not originate in the heart, but they do affect the disposition of a saint.

Offense: Will cause anger, dislike or displeasure, which are emotions and reactions of the flesh and the fleshy mind. An occasion to stumble or fall.

Servant: To give of oneself desiring nothing in return. To always seek for the benefit of someone else. To be willing to do what ever the master requires.

Watchman: To peer into the distance, by implication, to observe, wait, to look into the spirit world. To see those things that will affect or oppose the body of Christ

Love: Strong affection or liking for someone or something; to express the essential nature of God. It is the strongest feeling the soul can express. There is no feeling or emotion greater than love.

Flesh: The entrance and outlet for the desires of the mind and the body. The human body as distinguished from the soul; entrance and outlet for the gates to the mind: eyes, ears, nose, mouth and touch

Anointing: The fire of God that burns up the desires and impurities of the fleshy mind. Destroys the captivity in a life. (Isaiah 10:27). The ability of God given to one to carry out the ministry the Lord sets before him.
