And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1 John 5:14-15
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
If the Sons of God come before the throne of God, the heart must be pure if God is to hear us. We are to approach God as “our Father” and not as though He is a stranger.
When we pray the Lord discerns motives for praying. You must come to the Lord in sincerity for souls. You must pray inside of God’s will and seek that His will be done. God is only going to respond to those things that accomplish His will and not our own.
Prayer is the platform for ministry and we must fully understand and accept the responsibility of being chosen as an intercessor for souls. We must not adopt prayer as another ritual in the church.
