POWER AND DOMINION

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PRAYER WARRIOR

Prayer is communication with the Father. There are no examples in the New Covenant of men or women battling the forces of evil in their prayer time. The best that can be attributed to spiritual warfare is the casting out of devils that live in the human race. Even then, there is no fight. We have been given power over all the power of the enemy; therefore demons are cast out simply by the speaking of a command. There is no need to spend time talking to the devil and demons during our prayer time. The battle against them has already been fought and won by the righteousness of Jesus Christ. In fact, we never see Jesus actually fighting the devil or demons. The scriptures declare that He was triumphant over them simply by remaining sinless and obedient to the Father. The battle has always belonged to the Lord.

POWER

Jesus said that we have power over all the power of the enemy.

St. Luke 10:19

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

“Dominion Now” teaches that we have power, authority and complete control over all the works of the devil. Remember, the works of the devil are wrought through people. This means that we would have authority over the human race and all that it does to hinder the preaching of the gospel. This is not real. Paul sought the Lord three times regarding the messenger of Satan that was sent to buffet him. But the Lord’s reply was far from “Paul, I have given you the power to rebuke every judge, jailer, executioner and lynch mob that thinks to do you harm.” Quite the contrary is true. Jesus replied, “My grace is sufficient for thee. In your weakness is my strength made perfect.” Listen to this closely. In the weakness of the flesh regarding persecution, tribulation, distress and such the like, the power given to us is the ability to endure such opposition.

1 Peter 2:20-23

20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

It is acceptable unto God for His children to be patient when they suffer unjustly. It is the intent of the Father for the children of the Kingdom to commit themselves unto Him and not use any divine power to rebuke or chasten those who offend. Apostle Paul understood meekness and was willing to suffer that God’s purpose would be fulfilled in his life. In all the miracles and works of God that he wrought, Paul understood what authority he had and what he could and could not do. Paul understood that God granted authority to him to work miracles and He also granted authority to those who offended him. So we see that after Paul would do great miracles, preach and teach the truth of God’s Word, that same Paul would be subjected to whippings and great persecution.

2 Corinthians 1:6-7

6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

7 And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

We must embrace the riches of God’s glory, not the riches of this world. Lust and wantonness for the things of this world will tempt us to try using the Holy Ghost to obtain a reputation and the goods of this world for our own glory. God never intended for His Sons to use His glory to obtain a reputation on earth. The Father is not going to respond or feed into this vanity.

SPIRITUAL DOMINION

The teaching ‘Dominion Now’ being taught in the Body of Christ has fashioned the Sons into something that God did not create. It has caused us to believe in error that God really wants us to be exalted here on the earth. This doctrine does not consider the path or the purpose of God. It gives the Body of Christ the right to use authority that God has not given to the Sons. This doctrine also teaches that the Sons have control over the enemy and that the devil is under our feet.

Hebrews 2:7-8

7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

There is a difference between having dominion now and having power over all of the power of the enemy. If all things have not been put under the feet of Jesus yet, how do we feel that all things have been put under our feet? However, it still remains that Jesus has power over all of the power of the enemy but meekness and lowliness cause Him to operate that power within the boundaries of the purpose of God. Purpose is the highway on which the power of God is dispensed.

St. John 5:19

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

To operate supernaturally in this world you must operate in the purpose and will of God. The supernatural powers that we have been given confirm that there is another Kingdom. This is not the time for us to reign on planet Earth. The power God has given to us is authorized only for God’s purpose and not for our personal use to fight those who may be assigned to buffet us. Most of the offenses that come in our lives come to try us and prove that we are worthy of the Kingdom. Beloved, let us purpose to walk in the meekness and lowliness of Christ.
