ARE YOU QUALIFIED TO TEACH?

Welcome to Kingdom Teachers: A Teacher’s Training Course with Apostle Kareem.

If you are in this course, it means you have been selected by God to be developed and discipled into the mind of a teacher sent from Him. Truly, it is both an honor and a privilege to receive such a precious calling.

For various reasons, some of you may feel apprehensive or even reluctant about whether this training is for you. Perhaps you don’t believe you have a teaching ministry or feel you were chosen simply because of the limited number of ministers in your area. Nevertheless, God has chosen you to be trained, and He does not make mistakes. He will impact you according to your ministry and needs.

I believe this lesson may be one of the most important in the entire training course because it sets the perspective and foundation for all that follows. Without this foundation, we cannot truly be effective as teachers, no matter how much we know or how many years of experience we have.

Isaiah 54:13

And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

John 6:45

It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

Hebrews 1:1-2

1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Teaching in the Body of Christ should only be done by God through our vessels. The only way we can become effective as teachers and ministers is if the anointing of God uses our mouths to speak to His people. This is truly the greatest concept a minister can grasp.

It does not matter how much you study or how much knowledge of the Word you acquire, nor how skillful you are in teaching in a secular setting. These natural abilities alone cannot break the spiritual bondages of Satan or ignorance. Though such skills can enhance our teaching and ministry, they are not the power that brings true comprehension of the Word of God or breaks the yoke in people's lives.

1 Corinthians 2:12-13

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Here is our challenge. As teachers, we have been given the responsibility to articulate the Word of God, which is incomprehensible and indiscernible to the natural man. Yet, through the anointing of God in our teaching, the spirit of enlightenment will be released, causing even a sinner to reach a level of understanding that stirs a desire for God.

Thus, teaching in the Kingdom is a spiritual operation, one we can only be assured will occur if God works through us. How then can we ensure that God uses us every time we teach? Before answering we must ask ourselves the following questions:

Am I truly filled with the Holy Ghost?

Without the Holy Spirit, you will never be able to minister with an anointing. More importantly, your soul remains in jeopardy without the Holy Spirit. I urge you not to overlook or make light of this question but to genuinely take a moment and examine your experiences, based on the list of criteria below and the related questions as a guide:

• Evidence of Holiness and Sanctification: Do you walk in holiness, displaying evidence of sanctification, unconditional love, gentleness, and mercy?
• Spiritual Clarity and Understanding: Can you easily comprehend the Word of God, or do spiritual matters often feel confusing and unclear?
• Freedom from Sin: Have you truly overcome sin, with no evidence of captivity in your life?
• Inward Conviction and Self-Examination: Can you discern through the inward conviction of the Spirit, when you sin, or do others always have to point out your faults?
• Spiritual vs. Intellectual Discernment: Do you only identify sin based on your knowledge of the Word rather than spiritual conviction?
• Consistency in Holiness: Does darkness seem more entertaining to you, or do you feel the need to "take breaks" from holiness to breathe?

We must use these criteria to judge ourselves, not our desire to work in ministry or participate in spiritual activities. Power over sin is the only true evidence of the indwelling Holy Ghost.

If I have the Holy Ghost, am I holy or am I carnal?

Even with the Holy Ghost, the only assurance that God will work through us in ministry is in our obedience to Him. Having the Holy Ghost does not automatically mean God will use us powerfully in ministry. We must follow His guidance for His power to work through us. When we obey, God can use us to teach, help, and impact others more effectively. Consider these criteria and related questions as you reflect on what it means to be carnal or holy:

• Consistency in Obeying God: Am I stable in my obedience to God, or do I fluctuate between obedience and disobedience?
• Righteous Conduct/Spiritual Integrity: Do I act according to my own desires, treating people however I want, speaking to them in ways that do not please God?
• God’s Will & Purpose as Highest Priority: Is my life centered around myself, or is it centered around God and His ministry?
• Sacrificial Love for others: Do I genuinely love people and am I willing to suffer for their sake so they can thrive in God?

If you find yourself on the negative side of any of these criteria, this situation should not be dismissed or downplayed. God calls all His children to complete holiness, with no varying degrees or lesser standards for anyone.

Lastly, do I love fellowshipping with God, the people of God, and the Word of God?

Without true fellowship with the Spirit, we will never carry an anointing. Prayer is the foundation of all ministry, and the Word of God is the substance of our teaching. Moreover, the Body of Christ is who we are sent to minister to. Without a love for all three, God will never fully use us in His Kingdom. Examine your spiritual walk, by considering these criteria and questions carefully. Check if your responses indicate consistency and depth of devotion to God.

• Genuine Passion for the Word of God: Can I truly say that I love to study the Word, or do I engage in it out of obligation and duty?
• Fervent and Consistent Prayer Life: Do I often find myself admitting that I need to pray more, or am I genuinely satisfied with my fellowship with the Father?
• Prioritizes Fellowship with Believers: Do I consider fellowship with the saints essential to my spiritual walk, or do I find myself easily detached from the people of God?

Your honest self-examination should reveal the truth, as God is preparing you to be a genuine minister called to teach His people. If any gap is exposed, He calls for true repentance so that the Holy Spirit can work through you—not just to teach, but to impact lives in whatever way is needed for the saving of souls.
