After The Altar

CHAPTER 7 - AFTER THE ALTAR

So you have come from the altar. You followed the leading of the Spirit to the best of your ability, and the results were according to the will of God. What next?

Be prayerful

Be in prayer concerning the issues you heard at the altar. Confess those things to the Father that the individual at the altar might not have been able to hear or bear at that time. Water the individual(s) with prayer and supplication. For those that still have issues, pray specifically for those issues. Badger the Lord that He move on their behalf.

Be Integrous

Many times people will confess things in confidence to you at the altar. Most times this information needs to remain between you, the individual and God. Do not spread what you have heard unless it is completely necessary for the safety or spiritual well-being of the individual. Be mindful that it was God who trusted you with the information you heard at the altar; to gossip about things that should have remained in confidence, is to dishonor God. He will no longer think you worthy or mature enough to handle ministry and will either thwart ministerial opportunities that require confessions of confidential information or will judge you.

There are cases when individuals may reveal extremely confidential information Depending on the information there may be times when the police might need to be involved Nevertheless, be led by the Holy Spirit into the righteous course of action.

Connect

If possible, connect with the individual you prayed for. If they allow, get their contact information, and call, text, email, or connect with them to further help them along the way. Show them support, and visit them from time to time. Let them know that you are praying for them and their family.
