Rebels In The Kingdom

There are many people and groups in the world who have identified themselves as reactionaries, stating their opposition to political and social changes. These people and groups stand out because they are very vocal and aggressive concerning the things they want to see changed. In many instances they have become a hostile political force to be reckoned with. Keep this definition in mind as we seek to identify reactionists in the Kingdom of God.

The Reactionaries

The very first time I taught on this subject, I referenced individuals who respond negatively or resentfully to the discipline and correction of God through their leaders in the Body of

Christ. Instead of humbly accepting and learning from the chastening grace of God, they become resentful and full of iniquity. These reactionaries are reacting viciously to a call to repentance and purity of heart. They fight to preserve the perverted culture of the church. They also fight to remain carnally minded, manipulative and self-willed. They fight day after day, week after week, and year after year, to maintain who they are. They are not holy and they know that they are not. So one might ask, “Well, what is the fight about?” The fight is about persuading others that they are indeed spiritual; as well as getting leaders to accept them as spiritual. Because these saints are carnally minded, they cannot discern God in a movement of the Body. When God calls for reform and obedience to the present mandate, they can only see those proposing to move with God, through the eyes of the flesh. They are not spiritual so they cannot discern a spiritual move of God until it is too late; and God and His people have moved on; leaving them stuck in negativity and wallowing in self-pity, seeking the attention of leadership.

They are rebels used by satan to keep the church unholy, divided, and unable to manifest Christ. It is a tactic he has used for years in ministry. He uses these rebels to keep the focus of leadership on them, with hours of counsel, year after year, that result in no change of heart. While the leadership’s focus is there, they are unable to focus on the movement of the church into the mandates given by God. Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye (Acts 7:51). They always resist the Holy Ghost. They are spots and blemishes in the Household of Faith. Nevertheless, it is the heart of the Father that they come to humility and repentance. He has been faithful to provide the opportunity to do so, many times. However, they will not submit. Therefore, they spend weeks, months and years, zeroing in on some event or altercation that involved a leader or someone of spiritual status in the church. They never accept the fact that they were carnal, unholy, manipulative, and untrustworthy before and after the event or situation in question. To look at their overall spiritual disposition would reveal a soul void of fellowship with God. Their whole focus is to bring others out of fellowship, obedience, and focus on godly mandates; into that microcosm they have elevated as an impasse to getting back to God. This attitude is likened to the spirit of Esau, who valued worldly desires over his birthright and blessing.

Hebrews 12:16-17

16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it= carefully with tears.

These individuals reject the idea of living a life of obedience to God and may label those who teach and encourage righteousness as religious and self-righteous. They may also accuse ministries that emphasize holiness as being legalistic and opposed to grace. However, this perspective reveals a misunderstanding of the scriptures and the true nature of grace. The concept of “reactionary” is the act of going against or opposing established order, rejecting known truth, and manifesting rebellion and stubbornness. It is a serious matter, as the Lord equates rebellion with witchcraft and stubbornness with idolatry. Those who walk in rebellion or stubbornness prioritize their own desires and are resistant to truth. This behavior can lead to rejection from God. Let us move from there. This is a season of sanctification. God has been merciful in granting us space to repent and change. This is our chance. As the Lord said to Bishop Jones, “Don’t let this season pass without repentance.”
