Don't Get In The Way Of The Message

The Lord will always be faithful in correcting us (chastening His sons), that we might become skillful, righteous stewards of the mysteries of God. First, we must understand that ministers of the gospel are made by God through teaching, training, and experience in the Word of God. There are many who are trying to preach or teach the Word who are simply not taught or trained to do so. Nevertheless, they have a zeal to preach or teach. I am sure that all who do so, may not have the right motives behind securing a platform on Facebook or YouTube; and developing a following. Much of what we have seen is a vanity pool, filled with egos and wannabes. But there are some who are genuinely yearning to minister the truth they believe they have come to know. They truly want to be a blessing and an encouragement to others. And yes, there are others who have devious motives for expounding on the gospel. Many of these teachers seek to exploit the unrest, lack of faith, and moral weaknesses of the church. They build their messages as violent verbal attacks on those they deem as unfit to serve. They make themselves, judge, jury, and executioner of other ministers. The tone of their message is vicious and even sometimes vulgar in its delivery. The irony is that some of these men and women convince themselves that they are serving the best interest of the Kingdom of God. But Peter had great insight on the mind of God concerning such undisciplined teachers and preachers of the gospel. He uses Sodom and Gomorrah and their vexation of Lot’s soul as an example.

2 Peter 2:6-9

6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live

ungodly;

7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

These four verses are so powerful in setting the precedence of the Father in dealing with sin that is a vexation to the people of God. Lot lived in the midst of a people whose sin vexed him daily. But he remained just in his ways. Therefore, he was considered righteous by God. Thus it is God who knows how to deliver His own and reserve the unjust for the day of judgment.

This is a principle we all need to adhere to. We are not to circumvent the way of righteousness to become judges and executioners of God’s people. If we adhere to righteousness, then we understand that God is mindful and will deliver His people out of any situation in which satan seems to be the master; including those who are sitting under the tutelage of false preachers and teachers. However, those who believe themselves to be righteous, with a calling to attack other ministers, with a personal vicious tone of disgust, have not considered that they too, are in trouble with God. They have forgotten the original purpose for preaching the gospel.

Ephesians 3:3-4

3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

It should be the heart of every minister to share their knowledge in the gospel; not to use it as a weapon against those who may be ignorant, and/or out of the way. We know nothing that we ourselves did not receive from God. It is not lawful to take it upon self to judge those who are ministering in error, malice, even iniquity. You do not know their beginning nor their end. You are dealing with a moment in their life. If we would just remember, It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me (John 6:45). It is the Holy Ghost who is the teacher of the Word of God. We are simply the instruments He uses. But when we assert our emotions, personal dislike, or disgust in an attempt to correct or rebuke, we get in the way of our own message. If we would just remain in love and compassion for those who are falsely ministering the Word, we might be able to deliver them out of their ignorance or malice. But the truth is, you might not deem them worthy of compassion. Afterall, many of them are deceivers and gain sayers. Even so, they are still souls who need the light of God, not the wrath of man.

Nevertheless, Peter goes on to speak the mind of God concerning those who dare to take it upon themselves to circumvent the right way, and deal after the flesh with leaders who minister in unrighteousness.

2 Peter 2:10

10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak

evil of dignities.

Some may be in error, but are truly born of God. As I stated earlier, you may be dealing with a moment in their ministry. You don’t know their beginning, or how they came to the place they are now. Neither do you know whether they are as Paul was; predestined to glorify God. But the most important question is, “Do you care?” Or is it that their negative spiritual disposition causes you to judge them as unworthy of repentance and redemption? Are you not willing to be the one to help them deliver themselves from the snare of the devil? To use the Word of God to attack other ministers in a spirit or tone that manifests a personal disdain is presumptuous and self-willed. This is not the righteous indignation of God. It is a personal elevated ego. Listen to the apostle as he further reveals the mind of God concerning this matter.

2 Peter 2:11-13

11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own

corruption;

13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure

to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;

This is a trick of the enemy. It destroys the flow of love in the Body of Christ. If you have been guilty of such, follow me into repentance. There was a time in my walk, my zeal became judgmental, and it flowed into my messages. What I ministered might have been right, but my tone in delivery made me unrighteous. Do as I did. Repent and the Lord will be able to trust you with His people.
