Introduction

This manual is designed to get straight to the issue of praying for your personal ministry. It is universal in the sense that all who desire to work and serve in the Body of Christ must adhere to the principles and mindsets revealed to us by the apostles.

Just as Jesus taught the apostles how to pray, they have in turn taught the Body of Christ how to pray as we attempt to work ministry in this hostile world. Therefore, I have researched all of the epistles of the New Testament to discover the purpose, meaning, mindset, and spiritual disposition necessary for prayer.

There is only one way you can pray for God to prosper you in ministry; you must take on the mind and heart of an intercessor. Some think that intercessors are only the people in the ministry who have devoted their lives to the ministry of intercession. These are those whose calling is to pray for the saints and the work of the ministry without ceasing. But I submit to you that everyone who desires to work ministry of any sort must have the heart of the great intercessor, Jesus Christ.

I really need you to understand that if you are born again and called to ministry of any sort in the Body of Christ, (to which we are all given the ministry of reconciliation), your ministry is to people. Therefore, you must be prepared to pray for the people in your measure.

Please don’t forget that all ministry starts and is executed by prayer. It is your prayers that provoke the power of God in the lives of others, saved or unsaved.

That having been said, we will search out the attributes of this mind as it is revealed in the greetings, salutations, and prayers of the apostles.
