THE SPIRIT OF GRACE II

The Father no longer delighted in the sacrifices Israel offered Him. He was sick of their sin, and no animal sacrifice could remedy that.

Hebrews 10:8

Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law.

We can all admit that these animal sacrifices were a type of Christ, who was to come in the fullness of time, or the time appointed. Well, if you understand that then you need to also concede the fact that these sacrifices were not a covering nor cleansing agent for sin. The sin remained in the people of God.

Thus, we refer to Romans 8.

Romans 8:3-4

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

We need to take a careful look into these truths, for they are the heart of the gospel of the Kingdom, that were hidden in the mystery of Christ. These truths are not a hyped-up revolution, they are the revelation of the grace of God. The true apostles of God are being raised up and given a voice to rehearse these truths in the ears of the people of God.

“For what the law could not do…”

We have already established that the law, while written on tables of stone, could not rid mankind of sin. But now we need to look at the reason it was given. According to the scripture, it (the law) was weak through the flesh. There is no way the law could rid the human being of sin.

This is where the mystery of Christ is revealed. Brothers and Sisters, follow the Spirit here.

“God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin…”

God sent Jesus in a human body, (made of the seed of Abraham; made liken unto us but without sin), to die for the sins of the world. He paid the penalty for the sins of everyone who had been or ever would be born on planet Earth.

John 12:31

Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

Let’s break this scripture down.

Now is the judgment of this world:

God has judged the world and concluded all mankind to be sinful. (Romans 3:23).

Now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

I want you to take note of this declaration, “now shall the prince of this world be cast out”. The devil is about to be cast out of mankind. He has not been cast out of the world, neither has he ceased any of his activities here, but by the death of Christ (taking on the sins of the world), He is able to cast the devil out of those who choose to believe in Him.

Stop to think for a moment about the experience you had upon receiving the Spirit of Grace, (the Holy Ghost). It does not matter where you were when you received Him, there is one thing we all have in common, we felt as if a weight had lifted off of us. That was the weight of sin that was living in our bodies.

Another unmistakable occurrence at salvation is unexplainable love. We loved everyone without reservation. This is the attribute of the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of Grace. Because of the Spirit of Grace living in us, we are now able to fulfill the two great commandments: to love God with all of our heart, soul and mind, and to love our fellow man as ourselves. These two commandments hold the complete embodiment of the law.

Matthew 5:44-48

44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

The infilling of the Holy Ghost is the power to love as Jesus loved. Without the infilling of the Spirit of Grace, one cannot know that he is able to walk in such power.

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).

We are not human beings trying to walk a spiritual walk in this hostile world. We are the children of God. We have the mind of Christ, the emotions of Christ and the love of Christ. Teachings that are contrary to these facts make mockery of those who have been martyred for Christ’s sake, as well as those who gave their lives refusing to retaliate against their offenders. Yes, those who walk in the flesh (the unsaved), could never have the sentiments of these passages. But we who are the children of God, we are divine in nature and made perfect in the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of Grace.

2 Peter 1:4

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

The truth is, if we love God, and if we love our fellow man, then we would not sin against either. This is the plan of God; for the Church to stand before Him in love. The giving of the Spirit of Grace made that possible.

Again I say to you, Grace is not a covering for sin, it is the power we have over sin.

Titus 2:11-15

11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

John 12:32

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

This was the plan hidden in God before the beginning of time. If Christ were to be lifted up from the ground in death by the cross, he would be able to pay the penalty for sin and be qualified to redeem all men. It is through the preaching of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, many would believe and draw near to Him. The preaching of the gospel is the call of God for those who were in Christ before the foundations of the world were laid.

Romans 8:3

What does the condemned sin in the flesh mean? It simply means that the sin that was in us has been judged and sentenced to eviction. It can no longer dwell in the bodies of those who have received the Holy Ghost. Their bodies have been sanctified through the operation of circumcision, and by the indwelling of the Holy Ghost. Their flesh is now a holy habitation of the Father.

Consider the following passages.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

2 Corinthians 6:16-18

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

1 Corinthians 3:17

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

The Grace Revolution makes very light of, and in fact, mocks the need for true repentance. It is said that grace is a covering for sins past, present, and future, but the scriptures actually refute this.

Romans 3:25

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.

God has not made provisions for us to continue in sin after salvation.

Romans 6:1-2

1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Let us not make the provision for repentance a license to continue in sin. In doing so, you just might be in for a rude awakening:

2 Timothy 2:25-26

25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

There is no guarantee that God will grant repentance to those who sin against Him. That is a fact that the Grace Revolution preachers never mention to their congregations.

The Body of Christ is not a collection of human beings, struggling to do their best to obey the commandments of God - The Body of Christ is a divine creation.

And while we are discussing sinning saints; what about the hope of the believer? Isn't it sad to consider returning to the horrible things we once did and the grief we caused others? Whilst we were in a sinful state the desires of the flesh drove us to do despicable things that we are now ashamed to speak of. We were men most miserable. Wasn't our desire for salvation based on a desire to escape these conditions? We no longer wanted to hurt ourselves and the people we loved. The gospel indeed carries righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

However, if we falsely state that the saint will return to sin, this robs the people of God of the hope they gained through salvation. Believing that we will eventually return to sin against God and man robs us of our peace and sanctity. This is the enemy's goal, that we believe that we can never be free and that we will eventually return to those things that we did before salvation.

We, as ministers of the gospel, must never say that no one is able to keep the commandments of God; for it is the Father who demands that we obey His commandments. He even goes so far as to say, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments (John 14:15).” How is it that some are bold enough to pervert the will and sayings of God among His people, by making them believe that God did not intend for them to walk in the righteousness of His commandments?

All who preach such heresies must repent before it is too late, or they could go so far that they are not granted repentance. Beloved, consider these things, for they are essential to the saving of your soul.
