One With God And Man

Chapter One

It was a good and necessary thing for the Lord to point out His heart and mind concerning the daughters of Zion; for they were born at a time when it was not natural for a woman to minister before the Lord or to instruct men. Nevertheless, the giving of the Holy Ghost changed all that. Though there are those who would challenge the validity of such things, that places the woman on equal ground as it pertains to the new birth, the truth of the matter will forever stand.

Acts 1:13-14

13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.

14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

For the sake of this lesson, it suffices us to know that there were several women in the upper room during the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, the scripture declares them to have been on one accord with the men. They ALL were one in prayer and supplication. Thus, on the day of Pentecost, they ALL were filled with the Holy Ghost, (Acts 2:1). The point I wish to make here is that our Lord Jesus Christ, prayed in this manner…

John 17:20-23

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

When the Master prayed for the oneness of the Body of Christ, He did not exclude the women of God. Neither did the Father exclude them in the giving of the Spirit that would make us perfect in one. Finally, the curse is broken! The woman is free to serve her God with the same vitality and rigor as the male factor.

Galatians 3:27-28

27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

This is indeed good news for the Holy Ghost filled woman. She is now one with God and man. Yes, there are those who would challenge the role of the woman in the Body of Christ. In doing so, they would seek to restructure the works of God according to the gender of the flesh. However, Paul had an answer for such who would present the fleshy body and anything pertaining to the flesh as an attempt to mingle the works of tradition with the works of God.

Galatians 3:3

3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

We are one with God and each other. This is the work of the Spirit of God. It is sin to ignore the Word of God. We must embrace the truth with all our being and it will establish the will of the Father in us.

So then, what is the role of the woman in the church? Well, if it is true that there is neither male nor female in Christ Jesus, then the gifting and callings of God are without prejudice. They are not given with regard to the flesh.

1 Corinthians 12:18-26

18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?

20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble (strengthless, weak according to the flesh), are necessary:

23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered (to co-mingle, to mix with) the body together, having given more abundant honour (esteemed to the highest degree, made valuable, precious, to dignify) to that part which lacked:

25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

Even though there is one Body, it is made up of many members, but it is still considered one. These members include the female gender, as well as the male gender, but it is still known as one Body. The infinite wisdom of our heavenly Father dealt with every ambiguity so there would be no question as to His intention for the woman. Why would God implement to this degree? Consider verse 25, “That there should be no schism (division) in the body…”.

Indeed we can say, “Woman, thou art loosed!” Our God has looked upon our affliction and freed us from the curse. He has esteemed us to the highest degree. We owe Him all the servitude we are able to deliver. We serve an awesome God.
