Establishing The Kingdom Of Darkness In Man

Satan’s agenda did not change when man became the target. The seed of discontentment with God and godliness was first planted in Eve and through her it was planted in Adam; and from Adam it was passed down to all mankind. Thus, man joined the ranks of satan and made themselves enemies of God.

The Body of Christ needs to see as God sees. It needs to see the severity of departing from the faith in the simplest of things. We must remember that there are no grey areas in our salvation walk. We are either walking in the Spirit, which means we are led by the Holy Ghost, or we are walking after the flesh wherein we are led by the spirit of iniquity.

Remember, it was one unlawful thought, (iniquity) that founded the kingdom of darkness. This thinking, without regard for the laws of God, is rebellion in the heart. This rebellion is evidence of discontentment with things pertaining to God or godliness, (his ways).

The prophet Isaiah understood the power and destruction of iniquity and ministered the truth of it to the nation of Israel.

Isaiah 59:1-2

1 Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

The first thing we should note concerning iniquity is its ability to separate us from God. Consider the fact that satan was created perfect and lived in the Kingdom of God; but the iniquity of his heart put him in a foreign place, where the will of God is not regarded. He lost all fellowship with God and thus became an enemy of righteousness.

It is difficult for the church to believe that such a thing happens to us when we too depart from righteousness within the thoughts of our mind. Though we have many scriptures to support this truth, they are basically ignored.

Psalm 94:19-21

19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?

21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.

2 Corinthians 6:13-15

13 Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged.

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

1 John 1:5-7

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

The question is, “Are we alienated from God immediately at the point of sin?” The answer is, “YES!” Righteousness has no fellowship with unrighteousness, light has no communion with darkness and Christ has no agreement with Belial. If we step outside the boundaries of the faith, we have no part with God. Yes, we live in the Spirit as satan lived in the Kingdom of God. However, the iniquity of his heart separated him from God. The same is true of the church.

Isaiah 59:3

3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.

This is the ultimate in the kingdom of darkness. To kill with sword or by words is equally evil. When we speak a lie, we willingly depart fellowship with God. Finger defiled with iniquity refers to blaming others for our actions in an attempt to excuse the evil we do.

Now we come to the satanic syndrome: a tongue that utters perverseness. This word perverseness is a Hebrew word meaning stubbornness. It refers to a person or ones’ actions that show a deliberate and obstinate desire to behave in a way that is unreasonable and ungodly, even in spite of the consequences.

Isaiah 59:4

4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

Those who give themselves over to the kingdom of darkness become servants of its master, satan. For we are servants to whom we yield our members.

Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

This is a very awkward place to be; to live in the Kingdom of God, but serve in the kingdom of darkness.

Every member of the Body of Christ must choose whom he or she will serve. The servants of the Kingdom of Heaven call for the justice of God in every situation for His judgments are just and right. They reveal that justice even if it is severe. Though they will plead with God for mercy, they do not forsake or ignore the just recompense for sin stated in the scriptures.

Even in prayer they acknowledge the justness of the Father. However, some are deceived in that they acknowledge their wrong to the Father but remain prideful in their dealings with others. This action cancels out any forgiveness the Father would have granted. Repentance bears fruit and its first fruit is humility.

Isaiah 59:5-6

5 They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.

6 Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.

A cockatrice is a legendary two-legged dragon with the head of a rooster. This is a symbol of evil confusion. Iniquity spins a web meant to ensnare those who dare to come close to it.

Isaiah 59:7-11

7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.

8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.

9 Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.

10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noon day as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.

11 We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.

The way of a transgressor is hard. Those who depart from the faith to become servants of sin are spiritually blind in that they do not see where they are going. However, this does not mean they are not aware of what they do. Consider the following verses.

Isaiah 59:12-15

12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;

13 In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.

15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.

All who love and stand up for righteousness make themselves a prey for those who serve iniquity. They must be destroyed and their righteous deeds dishonored. Nevertheless, God is waiting on the one who will stand up in his judgments in spite of the consequences to themselves.

Isaiah 59:16

16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

The faith of Jesus Christ will survive in you only if you are willing to stand steadfast in it. There must be a resolve in your heart to be content with God’s plan for your life. Without such a resolve you will begin to think unlawful thoughts. These thoughts are the paths that lead to iniquity, the kingdom of darkness.
