Christ and Politics Part II: Have I Been Seduced

And again, the Lord spoke to me directly about this seducing spirit. I was in bed, tossing and turning in the middle of the night. It was about 3:00 am when I heard the Lord say, “Most in the Body of Christ have been seduced by a lying spirit.” I asked the Lord, “How could so many people be brought under the control of such a spirit?” His answer was swift.

“When the sons of God choose not to walk in the Spirit, it becomes very easy for Satan to take them in a snare. They become blind to reality and dull of hearing the truth. They yield themselves completely to the mindset of the spirit they are listening to. The influence of that lying spirit is so powerful until they lose sight of God and godliness. They have to be reminded of the very basic principles they’ve studied for years. They take on the mind of that seducing spirit and live by every word that spirit speaks. His mind is their mind, his thoughts are their thoughts, his judgments are their judgments, and his way becomes their way.”

King Nebuchadnezzar walked through his palace one day and looked upon all that he had accomplished. Immediately, he began to congratulate himself, taking credit for all I used him to do. My people have their Nebuchadnezzar and they have joined in with him in self exaltation."

The governments of the world exist by the will of the Father. He sets up and He takes down the powers that be. However, we can easily see His mind concerning political affairs, as they relate to the Church.

Acts 1:6-8

6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

I don’t think it could get any plainer than that. It is not for you to know the date the Lord will come back to set up His Kingdom. But, what I am particularly afraid for you to miss is the way the Lord abruptly turned to focus on the subject. In other words, it does not matter who is in power, the Father will send you the Holy Ghost and you must go about the business of being my witnesses in Israel and the uttermost parts of the world.

And again, if Jesus is truly our example, why is it that we never see him involved in the political systems of this world. This is a hard saying for some in the church. They really believe the Lord wants the Church to pick sides with the world and choose a political party. But to do so, members of the Body of Christ must stand in opposition to one another. In America, the Republican Christians promote legislation against abortion, same sex marriages and suppression of our religious freedoms. However, they hold fast to legislation that promotes the right to carry a gun and weaponize their communities. They would stop the killing of innocent babies, but they themselves would kill a potential offender to protect themselves, or their families. The very offender the Father sent us to save.Likewise, Christian Democrats fight against social injustices and for affordable health care, and higher wages.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

Matthew 6:25-26

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

The real question is, why is it that these scriptures no longer have any relevance in the lives of the sons of God? And, when they are brought face to face with them, they are considered to have no meaning or consequential value in their walk before God and man in this world. My dear children, this is an insult to the Father. His creation has all but abandoned the life of Christ. It is the Garden of Eden all over again. The sons of God have traded the life of Christ, for that of man. They have submitted themselves to the beggarly elements of this world. They have forsaken their birthright for that which is no life. But why? Is it that they are simply wanton and lustful for the things of this world; and perhaps this lust and wantonness has caused them to stray from the paths of righteousness? I wish it was as simple as that. To stray from the truth is not the same as rejecting the truth to the point of believing a lie that seeks to replace that truth. The person that simply yields himself to sin still knows what is righteous, and he also knows that his or her actions are not righteous. But the son of God who does or thinks wrong, and does not believe that they are wrong, is a person who has given themselves to the influence of a seducing spirit.

1 John 2:26

26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

This scripture reminds us that there are some who are able to seduce the children of God. Yes, my friends, those who are born of the Holy Ghost can be seduced, if they allow themselves to think or do that which is not righteous. Note that I said, those who think or do that which is unrighteous. It is true that if you even think wrong, the devil can and will capitalize on your negative spiritual disposition. The trouble with this truth is that most of those who do think wrong, will not acknowledge that they indeed are not spiritual, but instead are carnal minded. Some think because they have been renowned in a ministry, they are always righteous before God. But when their thinking and their spiritual disposition becomes inspired by satan, judgmentalism and iniquity rules the heart, possesses the will, and changes the character. When someone has been in God, preaching, teaching and counselling the truth, it becomes evident that something very powerful is working with them when they can no longer embrace simple truths. Do they no longer know the truth? Or is it that they are deceived by the devil? But the scripture says, the powers of darkness would deceive the very elect, if it were possible. No, they are not deceived, they are seduced. They live in an alternate reality created for them by satan himself. They no longer regard truth that does not feed their desires or emotions. Judge whether the ugly but true things you hear about your candidates cause you to become angry and contentious with those who would dare say such things. For the sake of this lesson, stop now and examine yourself to see if there are any truths that you have ignored or preferred not to entertain. Judge the emotions and disposition of your countenance when you are confronted with the truths about a candidate or political issues. Break free from this entanglement and come back to the purity of love and liberty, peace and joy, in the Holy Ghost..
