John addressed the fact that Jesus was not of this world.
John 3:31
31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
This is a very important observation that must be noted in the hearts of those who desire to serve. “He that cometh from above” indicates that those chosen to serve in this dispensation must be from above. In his prayer, Jesus said, I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
John 17:14 “He that cometh from heaven is above all.” The origin of ministry is Heaven. Those chosen by God are the sons of God. They are above all mankind, as well as principalities and all the powers of darkness.
In Deuteronomy 10:16-17, Moses prophesied.
Deuteronomy 10:16-17
16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.
17 For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
God is not the God of false gods, nor is he referencing lordship over earthly rulers. He is our God and our Lord.
Psalm 82:6
I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
Ephesians 2:4-6
We are the lords from heaven.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
John 3:32
32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
That which Jesus has seen and heard, is what he preached and taught. His message came from the Father. No one else on the planet had received the testimony Jesus came to deliver. For this mystery was hidden in God. And the only way you will obtain it, is to be in God.
John 3:33
33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
Those of us who have received the testimony of Jesus Christ, have proclaimed in our hearts that God is good, and his word is truth. He is the only truth and that which is not of that faith, is sin.
John 3:34
34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
Those who are chosen to carry this gospel speak only those things revealed by the Father. The mystery of Christ is revealed to the apostles by the Spirit. There are some scriptures that should forever be before those who serve the Lord.
Isaiah 54:13
13 And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord;
Jeremiah 31:33-34
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord…
This passage is also repeated by the apostle Paul in his writings to the Hebrew church. (Heb 8:10-13). However, I don’t think the Body of Christ, especially some of those who preach and teach the gospel, have ever really stopped to consider the true meaning of these passages. Nevertheless, this is the heart of the New Testament.
The laws of God are written by God in our hearts. He has made us His people. We are of God. By the Holy Spirit, we are made one with God.
Therefore, we know God and godliness. There is no getting around this truth. He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit. Those who are born of God, know God and godliness. The conscience has been cleansed from sin and dead works. Therefore, it is able to judge the deeds of the soul. The truth is, those who are born of God, know righteousness and unrighteousness. They know that which is of God and that which is not. Take note of the following scripture.
Matthew 24:24
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
The very elect are those who have set to their seal that God is good and true. Their face is set like a flint to obey the Father in all things, at all times. Therefore, they are not blinded by the wiles of the enemy. They know their God and they never lose sight of what God is doing on the earth. Another factor I want us to be aware of is that in this passage if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect; the words, “it were,” are italicized in the KJV.
This means that they were not present in the original writings, from which the Bible was translated. Therefore, the original text read, “if possible, they shall deceive the very elect. This makes sense as we have other scripture that warns the church of possible deception.
The moment you accept the lie, you have deceived yourself. When you lessen the evil that is in sin, you deceive yourself. The moment you walk outside of the boundaries of the faith, you deceive yourself. You then make yourself prey for the enemy to do with you as he chooses. Remember Paul’s letter to Timothy.
2 Timothy 2:25-26.
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
It is a dangerous game some play; when they make a conscious decision to disobey that which they know to be the truth. In doing so, the enemy is now able to deceive and hold them captive at his will. Make sure you are not in a position for this to happen to you. Obey the Lord in all things, at all times.
