Few Are Chosen

Matthew 22:14

14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

I want to inject something here that the Father cautioned me about; and I will pass it on to you. When studying the Old Testament, we read much history and prophecies concerning the nation of Israel. This coupled with the fact that Israel rejected and killed her Messiah, has caused many to bring about a much too strict separation of the Church and Israel in their study of the prophets. My point is that some tend to forget that all the prophecies declaring the creation of the Church were to, and for Israel first. Furthermore, the church began with Israel; and it was Christian Jews who evangelized the then known world. The preaching of the gospel is powerful. However, the Body of Christ and all those who seek to carry it need to know the mind and workings of God in ministry. I am going to attempt to explain to you the operation of God that we call ministry. First of all, in most cases the perspective is wrong. Saints are born again and with their new birth, comes a God- given desire to serve in the kingdom they have just entered.

Now there is a government in the Body of Christ (the 5-fold ministry), that is set by God to perfect the church and bring it to the fullness of the statue of the man Jesus Christ. Though some wrestle with the truth of apostolic order, that is not my focus here. I want to zero in on the mindset of ministers that are either serving or seeking to serve. It is apparent that some have come into the church and covet certain giftings. They want to be pastors, evangelists, prophets, etc. Ministry has become a free for all in the minds of the saints. Men and women are deciding what they want to do in the household of faith. This is totally contrary to script.

Hebrews 3:4

4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

The Father is the one building the Body of Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:18

18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

That being said, let us now look at the work of those who were actually called to serve. God has put the world in their hearts.

Ecclesiastes 3:10-11

10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

11 He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

The word ‘world’ is the Chaldean word for eternity. All the history of the creation and knowledge of God was placed in the heart of man. Its first manifestation was when Adam awakened knowing that God was his Creator. He came alive with the wisdom to rule an entire planet. The knowledge of God was placed in the heart of all creation. The plants and animals know God. It is the divine intellect that God placed in the conscience of man. “So that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.” The world was placed in the heart of man “in such a way” that he is unable to find out the ‘work’ or ‘the Mystery of God’s workmanship’ that he has done from the beginning of time.

Ecclesiastes 3:15

15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

Man and all creation is required to live out that which has already manifested in eternity. However, there is a secret thing that is also in the hearts of men, but veiled by God until the time appointed that it should be revealed.

Psalm 25:14

14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

Now we come to the real power and essence of preaching the gospel. On the Day of Pentecost, Peter preached the first message of the crucified Redeemer, to the ones that had consented to his death. The apostles were mostly unlearned and non-impressive men in the Nation; but they had a revelation of a secret that had been hidden in God since before the foundations of the earth were laid.

Romans 16:25-26

25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith

I think this is the most comprehensive truth regarding the preaching of the gospel. First of all, it was the revelation of the mystery of Jesus Christ that was hidden in God. This mystery was not made manifest until a son was begotten by God. Jesus was the first begotten of the Father who was sent into the world to preach or declare the mystery to His people. Let us take a look at evangelism from God’s perspective. I will start with our Lord, who is our example in all things.

John 6:45

45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

Jesus is stating a direct quote from

Isaiah 54:13:

13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

This is a prophecy concerning the church; but let us see what it really means. And they shall be all taught of God…To be taught of God is not by listening to an external revelation, but by an internal illumination. This is the power of the preaching of the gospel. Those who are sent to minister the good news are vessels that have become the form of God in the earth. It is the Lord that ministers through us. It is the power of God that does the work. Our only role is to believe on Christ in us; and obey the leadings of the Spirit.

When Jesus quotes Isaiah, he is declaring to the Jewish leaders that every word he speaks, is the Father teaching the people the knowledge of God.

John 8:42-44

42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

44 Ye are of your father the devil , and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Jesus was preaching in the presence of some members of the Sanhedrin Council. He was sent by God to minister to them directly. But they could not understand Him. They could not hear Him. Well, Jesus explains why this is the case. They could not understand, because they could not hear. They were not of God. They were not of the chosen. Called, yes, but not chosen. The fact that they were called, is manifest in that Jesus came to minister to them. But the reality is that in eternity, when predestination revealed that they would resist the Holy Ghost and the word of God, they were not chosen to be a Son of the Most High. Thus the Scriptures are manifest:

John 10:26-27

26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

A Sad Truth..... It is the knowledge of God that is a comfort to the Sons of God. In the scripture below, Jesus reveals a truth about the preaching of the gospel that the Sons of God must embrace, else we will be forever frustrated.

John 8:42-43

42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

There will be people in your sphere of influence that you will minister to, over and over again. However, no matter how you deliver the message of the gospel, they will not hear you. They will not understand and will utterly reject all that you deliver. These may be friends, or foes, relatives or strangers; the bottom line is, they will not hear or receive the gospel for the saving of their soul. In the next verse, Jesus tells us why they cannot hear. “Ye are of your father, the devil.” Now these truths make all the difference in the world for those working ministry and truly seeking out souls. This is the sum of the matter. The truth was placed within us, but the deceivableness of life in this world has blinded the minds of them that reject the truth. This is truly unbelief. It is unbelief for the sinner and much more for the saint. For with the sons of God, comes another witness, the Holy Ghost. He is also the proof that God is not a liar.

The Lord has set the world or eternity in the heart of man. However, he did it in such a way that the Mystery of Christ could not be found out by the wisdom of men.

Ecclesiastes 8:17

17 Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.

The gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven must be preached by those that are of the Kingdom. They are not of this world. They are lords who live in the Spirit of God. They are sent to reveal that hidden mystery buried in the heart of the Sons of God. They are told to go into all the world, into all the nations and find the Sons; for they are those that will hear the voice of the Chief Shepherd. The preaching of the gospel will awaken the knowledge of God within the heart. Notice that it is with the heart that one must believe.

Romans 10:9-10

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

To believe in the heart is “to commit to the truth” that is revealed in your heart. To believe is to agree with truth that is revealed to the inner man. It is to embrace the light that illuminates your soul. Psalm 95:8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness. This is the biblical definition of unbelief: to harden the heart against the truth that is revealed by God to the inner man. To believe not, is to submit not to the truth that your spirit confirms to be truth. Jesus said to the religious leaders of his time: “No man can come to me except my Father who sent me, draw him.”

John 6:44.

44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

We really need to take the time to understand these verses. To ‘draw’ is the Greek word meaning “to drag back, nigh, and up.” It is the knowledge of God, set in the heart of men, that is revealed through the preaching of the gospel that draws, or drags one out of the world and into the kingdom of God.

Furthermore, the word ‘sent’ is ‘pempo’, which means not only to dispatch as we have supposed, but it also means ‘to transmit.’ Now this points us back to eternity. When God speaks through the Sons of God, the anointing of the Holy Ghost searches out the heart and quickens or brings alive that secret thing that was hidden in God, that can only be revealed by God. The angels cannot preach this gospel because they were not begotten by God; they were simply created beings. Neither are they the evidence of the truth. The gospel is put in the hands of the Sons. They are the only people on the planet who know God and godliness. They are the revelation of the Mystery of Christ. They are the believers in that they did not resist the truth. Those who resist the truth the Spirit of the Lord reveals to them, are unbelievers.

In conclusion, the Sons of God are on a mission to seek out others who were chosen to be in Christ before the world was formed. We are instructed to preach the gospel in every nation. We are to preach it in season and out of season. The sheep will hear their Master’s voice and will follow Him. We are not to despair if all do not turn to the Lord or believe the good news we bring.

Romans 3:3-4

3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?

4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

Keep your heart pure and allow the Father to teach His people the hidden knowledge of God. Don’t allow any self or selfish agenda to obstruct the ministry of Christ in you; but instead, allow rivers of living water to flow out of your belly. You are the only hope for the world. You are the only beings on the planet who know the plan and eternal purpose of God. You are the faith of Jesus Christ, manifested in the earth.
