CHANGING THE ENVIRONMENT WITH A GODLY CONVERSATION

The devil has done a job in the church. Many churchgoers do not even believe God. Preachers preach and people become emotional to the message but they are not provoked to obey. The environment in the church is such a one to where it would surprise you if you see Christ there. It is now a surprise when young people live holy, or when one lives with strong convictions to the Word. It is expected for young people to struggle with sin. It is expected and even accepted. This is something we must no longer allow. How can we change this? We can change it through a godly conversation.

Here in Leesburg, one of the methods by which we remain in the Spirit is by keeping a godly conversation. Your conversation is a reflection of the present location of your mind.

This is why Romans 8:5 says:

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Greg often says, “If we constantly talk about fleshy things it is because that is what we are minding.” This is so true. If our conversation is spiritual, it is because we are minding spiritual things. So to change our environment in the ministry, we keep a godly conversation going. This causes people to stay in the Spirit. Those who are playing church, this is usually the conversation they walk away from. But those who are spiritual and really love the Lord, they gravitate to this type of conversation because life is in this conversation for the sons of God.

The reason why the environment needs to change is because we are of the household of faith but there has not been faith in the house itself. In the church, faith has been replaced with the love of the world. We used to have men and women walking in faith and righteousness. Now, instead, you have people walking in lust and wantonness. It will not be so in you, for you have not been fed a lie. This ministry teaches sound doctrine from that which is not a doctrine but a life. We do not have time to waste on vain conversations. We are not in observation of the world and its affairs, styles, celebrities, perverse ways or its mindsets. No. These things should no longer interest us for we are spiritual. We are not of the world, nor our conversation. If your church youth environment is struggling with this, it is because people have not accepted that they are spiritual beings. Here is the solution.

Colossians 3:1:

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

The word seek in this verse is interpreted in The Amplified Bible as aim. We should be aiming for Christ even in our conversations. We should be aiming to be where He is and to stay in the Spirit.

Colossians 3:2

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Let us read the same verse in The Amplified Bible:

And set your minds and keep them set on what is above, (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.

A godly conversation keeps our minds spiritual because we are spiritual but the flesh has convinced us that we are fleshy. A godly conversation reminds us that we are spiritual beings. If we walk in the flesh, our minds produce thoughts that are sinful, henceforth provoking us to sin. A godly conversation keeps the thoughts holy so we can continue each day in righteousness.

Ephesians 5:26-27

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

The continuing of a godly conversation will allow the Word a chance to wash us so that we can be the church of the scripture, without spot or blemish.

Things to talk about while having a godly conversation are the message, That Life, Christ and His personality, walking in the Spirit and what God is doing in the ministry just to name a few. These are fruitful for a son of God.
