A Solemn Assembly

You must be a different breed, a new breed upon the face of the earth. Even now I have scattered you in places of my choosing. Send out a call to those who were once a part of your fold. I will cause them to answer, such as I have chosen; for even many who left in weakness, sin and feebleness of heart have I visited. Send out the call and they will answer. I will give you what to say to them. Call them and put them in remembrance of my great grace I gave them long ago. Many who have fallen did I visit in their fall. Some who were shameful have I risen to honor. The mean and stout-hearted ones have I led into diverse places of sorrow and distress. They are broken in spirit and the yoke is gone off their necks.

But they all are as children wandering in the darkness. They have no real direction because they are a people to whom I gave sight through the knowledge of the truth, but they are being led by those who are blind. Send out the call. Bring them to hear a sure word. Focus not on the things that pertain to men, but obey my command. They are my people and I have purposed to use them in this day.

Call a general assembly in a common place. Put my Word in their mouths and in their hands. Give them instruction and wisdom to work a work for me. My church is a holy habitation for me to dwell in.

Let prayer and supplication be offered from house to house. Command those who lead my people to fall on their faces in the early watch and pour out the souls in intercession before me and the people. Let them call upon me even in the noonday and at the evening watches. They are to lead my people in all humility with prayer and supplications. Call for the skilled psalmists and musicians to praise me in the watches. Let all who love my way; seek me early in the morning watches. Let them meet me in the noon day and let not the night watches fail. The altar of incense will yield a fresh fragrance as its smoke rises before me.

Why do you wait? Why do you hesitate? Am I not the author of my church? I am its beginning. I am its foundation. Did I not order my disciples to go without coat or money? Did I not use them to spread my gospel? Is your day without my Spirit? Why do you wait on the elements of this world to make your way comfortable and a way you can delight in? Did I not tell you before that it would be by my Spirit this gospel will be preached? The church is mine. Did I not form it without the niceties you wait for? They will not come. Brake down the walls that separate my people. I will give you common ground. I am their need and their fulfillment. Make churches in the dwelling places. Hold assemblies in the familiar common places. Let the teachers teach the word of truth.

Call out the faithful men and women I have given you; who have remained faithful to my Word and my way. Call to those who have not despised my order and have not chided with you because of it. Tell them to let my people go. Set the evangelist in the streets, the marketplaces and the parks, the town squares and the crowed places of the cities. My Word is their microphone and my Spirit is their amplifier. Call for the true and chief evangelists and command them to organize those of a willing heart.

Think not how you will make a name for yourself or your church, for the church is mine and it is my name that must be exalted. Serve me and do all that I have commanded with a pure heart and I will preserve you in the day of temptation and secure your soul in the day of calamity.

Wash their hands of uncleanness and their spirits of its filthiness. Rebuke and edify, purge and scourge, prophesy to each of them of the way they are to take. I will put a word for every one of them in your mouth. And they will know that I have done this thing; for it will be a sign and an example to my people in every place in the earth. They will hear and come to see the way of the Lord.

Send out the call, I will magnify the sound thereof. It will even go to the ears of them that you have not known or seen. I have many who are waiting for this day. You have not known them, but I have preserved them. They will come, for there are many gifts among them. The words I have given you will perfect them. They will make a quick work of learning my ways for they are eager to serve me. They are my sheep and I have made you their shepherd. A great thing have I done this day. I did it not to increase your vanities but to manifest my forgiveness for your inconsistency and your apathy. Make haste to obey me and cease not to continue in my ways.

My heart quieted itself almost as if it was afraid to beat. My flesh trembled as the words of my Lord continued to reveal my thoughts.

Be not troubled or doubt in your heart with the fear of failure. Silently you ask how you can perform all that I have spoken. You challenge me to be even more specific.

Hear that which my will is to accomplish. Think not on the desire of the people to make my commandment convenient for them. I know whom I have called and it is they who will answer.

Send out a call to all who have heard truth. Prepare for a solemn assembly. Call for the shepherds of my flocks. Call for all who have taken oaths to serve in this place. Invite the friend and the willing heart. You will sit before me three days. You will eat nothing and you will drink only the water. You will cry out to me for your souls. You will seek out my mercy for your transgressions and your wavy mindedness. You will pray for one another and counsel one another. You will bring only that which is truth before me. Warn them that do folly; for I will surely come down and my Spirit will be with you.

You will plead the cause of my people and I will answer. You will cry for the lost. Their suffering and bondage shall be your meat. You will weep and mourn for the cities and the nations. It shall be three days of fasting and prayer without ceasing. At the end of three days you will eat of the table of the Lord. You will eat the greens of the fields and the bread cooked without leaven. You may eat of the fish of the sea and the fowls of the air; but the flesh of animals you may not eat at the Lord’s table.

Four more days will you sit before me and I will put a word in your mouth for everyone who has obeyed my call. I will also open the mouths of the prophets. They will stand in their room and will utter a word one by one and two by two. Each word will be judged and written down to rehearse in the ears of my people.

On the fourth day those of the order will wash the feet of his neighbor as they sit in the general assembly. This is a sign to remind them that they are their brothers’ keeper. They will always speak the truth to one another in love.

The sixth day will be a day of baptism. Baptize with water those who have accepted me and my will for their life. All who truly receive the call to work in the reformation shall be baptized there unto. They will go forth in the power of my will. I will make their paths straight. I will give them places to speak and I will work many signs and wonders among them. I will call to mind the days of the early church. Miracles will be noised abroad and all will know that I am alive in my people.

On the seventh day the cup of ministry shall be filled. All attending the Solemn Assembly are to put on white garments. This is a sign to remind them of the righteousness I have given them. It is a reminder of the finished work I have made of them.

I will give instructions to my people. They will know what they are to do. I will sanctify them and their work will I prosper. Those who obey me will I give peace that they may rest from their doings. I will cause them to know and understand those things that have been hidden from them. I will open their eyes to see the way to take to avoid the snares of their enemies.

Gather yourselves together as many as will and I will sup with you. I have ordained a Solemn Assembly. Send out the call and I will magnify it. My sheep will hear and they will come. Make haste you who serve me. Be diligent; send out the call to the Assembly of the Most High.
